We’ve seen a lot of scaredy cat, woosies the last few weeks that gave off total loser vibes.

Place your favorite meltdown/weak boy post from the past few weeks below.

Mine was from the clown that said we’ve lost all momentum and our programs f’d. A seltzer and a signed Frankie Valli poster to the Dungeonite that can track down that post*

Cheers boys and girls. We’re off to the Big 12 and it looks like we’re going to have a real solid recruiting class. ⚔️

Take a moment to soak it all in

We are watching UCF transform itself from a G5 team to a P5 team. I remember when UCF transformed from I-AA to I-A, and then moving through the ranks up to the Big East/AAC. It used to be a big deal when we would snag a 3* player from one of the "Big 3", and it was a really big deal when a 4* recruit signed with UCF. Now we are pulling in multiple 4* players, snagging players from top-tier P5 schools that they actually wanted/needed.

Also keep in mind that our fanbase is about to grow exponentially once we begin playing in the Big 12. Remember what it was like struggling through the Division II, I-AA, Independent, MAC, CUSA, and Big East/AAC years, all leading up to this point. While we'll embrace the new fans, none of them will have that same background, what we have gone through.

Stetson and Kirk's Jerks

I looked for it the other month, and I still cannot find the old 'Kirk's Jerks' website. At most I can find references in some of the old 'Central Florida Future' archives. It seems like that history from our ASun/TAAC days, both men's (with Kirk at the helm) and ladies basketball (as well as smaller ball too), were 'a thing' that have yet to be repeated (only the Cows come close). Especially those Jerks. I miss those days.

At least FSU lost to them, and handily.

Did this non-UCF coach in 1979 see this coming?

From the late and great Jerry Greene of the Sentinal Star, who wrote the local paper story on UCF's first game ever at St Leo in 1979...the then St Leo HC said this after going up against (and losing) to the Knights:

***UCF lands five commits on Monday - More to Come?***

It was a five "boom" day as UCF inches closer to Wednesday's Early Signing Day.

Following their second weekend of December visits, the Knights received commitments from a mix of high school, junior college and transfer players.

WR Tyree Patterson (Eustis) - A longtime commit to Florida, Patterson and UCF remained in contact throughout the summer and fall. He was first slated to visit last summer for Bounce House Weekend, but held off due to his UF commitment. Patterson attened the late-season home game against Navy and then was back over the weekend for his OV. Sources indicated he officially committed while on the visit before announcing Monday morning.

DB Fred Davis (Clemson transfer) - Originally from Jacksonville and a former four-star recruit. He played immediately as a freshman in 2020 and began this season as a starter before suffering an ankle injury. Should have two years left. He visited UCF the weekend of Dec. 9, though never publicly acknowledged anything recruiting related until his commitment tweet today. I'm confident he had a solid offer list though.

LS Gage King (Arizona State transfer) - Long snappers don't get the attention they deserve, though UCF fans should know they've had one of the nation's best these past few years with Alex Ward. King was a backup long snapper and I don't believe has seen game action, but UCF feels he can step in and be starter worthy. I believe he should have two years eligibility remaining. Technically, he announced his commitment Sunday night via Instagram, but the Twitter announcement and coach acknowledgement didn't happen until Monday.

S DeJordan Mask (Texas State transfer) - Mask, who is also from Texas, played safety this past season and posted a very solid 78.6 season grade according to PFF. Had three interceptions. Should have two years left. Mask, who visited this past weekend, tweeted about receiving offers from Troy and Old Dominion.

DB Ja'Maric Morris (Hutchinson CC) - Morris' JUCO season ended last Wednesday night in the JUCO National Championship (a loss to Iowa Western). Due to his longer season, he only had time for one other OV which was to Appalachian State. Other offers included South Florida, Washington State and Jackson State (when Prime was still there). He's originally from South Carolina and had five interceptions this year.

Current Commit List (17)

High School/JUCO (11):

DE Kaven Call
LB Troy Ford Jr.
QB Dylan Rizk
K Grant Reddick
DT John Walker
DB Braeden Marshall
OL Johnathan Cline
TE Randy Pittman
DB Jason Duclona
WR Tyree Patterson
DB Ja'Maric Morris

Transfers (6):

QB Timmy McClain (South Florida)
LB Antonio Grier (South Florida)
WR Christian Leary (Alabama)
LS Gage King (Arizona State)
DB Fred Davis (Clemson)
DB DeJordan Mask (Texas State)

On Tuesday, two more targets plan to announce decisions: DL Andrew Rumph (12 noon) and OL Keyon Cox (8 p.m.).

We are still awaiting clarity from Braeden Marshall whether he intends to stick with UCF or sign with Auburn.

Antonio Grier's status as a LB commitment is also somewhat in limbo as he was incredibly tight with T-Will. He hasn't backed off, though I'm sure he's waiting to see what happens with the vacant LB coach position. I'm also curious if T-Will will offer him to come to Arkansas, though I haven't really looked at their LB situation. With one year left, Grier knows he needs an opportunity to play a major role from the jump and he would still have that at UCF.

High school names to watch on Wednesday include QB Malachi Singleton, WR Cayden Lee, DE Deejay Holmes and DE Isaiah Nixon.

Obviously there are several more portal possibilities, particularly offensive linemen, though transfers aren't necessarily on the same timeline for decisions as nothing is binding until they enroll in January. Some could continue to hold off or even take visits to other schools in early January. UCF hosted at least four OL over the past week, including Marcellus Marshall (Kent State), Jordan Brown (Charlotte), Amari Kight (Alabama) and Keiondre Jones (Auburn).

With the Harris twins decommitting and likely going to Maryland, the linebacker position becomes an even bigger need as well.

For Those Going to the Military Bowl, Pack Warm!

According to the Weather Channel:

“Mostly cloudy with snow showers developing during the afternoon. High 39. Winds N at 5-10 MPH. Chance of snow 50%.”

Hope our boys can adapt to playing in very cold conditions with potential snow. Hope to see many of you in the Stadium cheering on the team with us! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays fellow Knights! Let’s hope we beat Duke and bring home that W!

Cows threatening to crash and burn?

All I can say is if the cows don't end up with Deion there are going to be some fans throwing themselves from a bridge. The villain now is Mike Kelly, the guy who has been handed a $h!t sandwich and has been told it is gold. People not getting that decades of condescension and arrogance have created a hidden toxic environment. Potential? Yes. But unreasonable expectations as well.

We shall see what comes of it. But it seems to me that they have set themselves up for failure and disappointment for anyone not named Deion. This is also why you set your mark, make your play, and give someone a short time to decide. If they do not committ you move immediately on.

***Several booms expected***

Following the weekend of official visits, we should have our first batch of commitments. Unsure of timing, but I'm hearing we could hear news from:

WR Tyree Patterson (Eustis, former UF commit)
DB DeJordan Mask (Texas State transfer)
LS Gage King (Arizona State transfer)

Patterson previously indicated he may announce on Christmas, but waiting to hear back if that's still the case. With UF out of the picture, not sure why he'd wait that long.

King was on an OV and I think he's going to be a PWO but will confirm.
