UCF guard C.J. Kelly put forth perhaps his best game of the year in the 72-61 victory at Ole Miss this past Wednesday. He scored 20 points on an efficient 8-10 from the field while also pulling down nine rebounds to go along with three assists and three steals. Kelly talked about the team's 8-2 start, improving national perception of UCF Basketball and the challenge of playing Missouri.

UCF point guard Darius Johnson is one of the few players coming back from last season. Many of the key pieces to this year's team are newcomers, so has it surprised him how well this team is jelling right out of the gate? "It's not really surprising because I see it every day in practice."

UCF's Taylor Hendricks is making a case as one of the best freshmen in the nation. He talks about the recent win at Ole Miss and the upcoming game against Missouri.

Greetings from Memphis 📷

I have family here so that's why I'm up here so early. Haven't been since the football game in 2018.

Flew up on Spirit, which was perfectly fine. I actually thought the seat was more comfortable than Southwest, if that makes sense. It had more back support? The wifi was only $6 and the speed was excellent.

The nonstop offerings to MEM are less plentiful than before. Seems Southwest dropped the route and Frontier only flies on select days. I think Spirit is the only daily nonstop flight.

The crime has always been an issue here, but if you're a bit nervous I'd suggest not turning on the local news. Carjackings galore. An 80-year-old Uber driver was just murdered execution style just a couple blocks from the University of Memphis sports complex area. I made a quick drive past the Liberty Bowl and saw the memorial for the female jogger who was abducted and murdered a couple months ago.

As for local food offerings, had a late lunch at Patrick's on Park in East Memphis. "American food" with meats and veggies. Always consistent with large portions. Very good.

Had dinner at One and Only BBQ which I thought I liked from a visit back in 2018, and it's generally among the best reviewed, but it was pretty mediocre/dry. At least the pork, turkey and ribs. Sweet potato fries were the best part.

The original Corky's on Poplar is still closed for dine-in. There was a fire in February and it's still under renovation. The drive-through is open though.

Here's some shots of the Liberty Bowl.

OT: Questions for ECU Breakdown

Follow on to this thread: https://ucf.forums.rivals.com/threads/my-film-breakdown-ucf-offense.106474/

Here's where we are at: There are 70 offensive plays, I have the complete film so there's wide angle and end zone angle (see below). I'll need some time to upload/organize jpg's from screen capturing but this is what it will look like unless maybe I can find a better way or a site that allows me to go over 32MB so I can increase thhe smoothness of the video a little bit.

What questions do you have from this game? I'll take the most asked questions (like a question someone asks and i'll tally them up) and show you/explain what happened. Again, I won't be able to answer the thinking behind what UCF is doing, only will be capable of showing you the play and breaking down the schematics of it. I'm open to ideas if there's a better way to do this. Additionally, I will wait until after ESD and some of the staff moves before posting the breakdown A) to help give some content during the dark days of the offseason and B) gives me some time to figure out the best way to organize this and simplify it for the audience.

And i'll go ahead and get in front of this one: Regarding SignalGate, I'm not super comfortable drawing conclusions because of the way UCF handled it (not drawing attention to it). This board leaks and the last thing I want to do is have some jackass from here blow up the breakdown on Twitter and start a fire. I'll just say this: you can watch the presnap action especially from the endzone angle and make your own decision -- I will not comment on it.

Looks like the GIF's are being difficult, I'll get them up as soon as I can.

***UCF in top three for Alabama DB***

aigosojvg6xk1yao4ifl

UCF is among three finalists for Orange Beach (Ala.) defensive back Christopher Pearson, who is looking forward to making a return visit to Orlando later this month.

Pearson, who recently attended summer camps at Alabama and Mississippi State, first visited UCF during his spring break in April. That's also when he received his offer.

"I liked it a lot," Pearson said of the first UCF visit. "I really liked the coaches, especially Coach Gus Malzahn. It was great meeting him for the first time. I didn't expect him to be that tall. I enjoyed watching the practice and how they run things. The facilities were great too."

Pearson is a two-way star and return specialist for Orange Beach. As a junior, he carried the ball 120 times for 1,095 yards while adding seven receptions for 192 yards with 21 total touchdowns. Defensively, he recorded 43 tackles with four interceptions and three defensive touchdowns.

UCF is recruiting him as either a safety or rover.

A couple weeks ago, Pearson posted a top three of UCF, UAB and Liberty. He's pretty sure his decision will come down to those three schools.

UAB: "They were the first offer I ever got. I really like their coaching staff."

Liberty: "It's a pretty good school. I feel like that could be a spot."

UCF: "I liked the facilities and how the coaches treated me."

Pearson added he talks to the UCF coaching staff "weekly" and they've invited him to come down for a visit the final week of July. He's not quite sure of the day, but is making plans to be in Orlando.

As a December high school graduate, Pearson said he'd like to be committed by November at the latest.
