Space Game Rocket Launch?

I know this is a moon shot (all puns intended) but could some of our esteemed alum suggest this with their management? It would be assume PR and I wouldn’t mind even a TV timeout during the launch. It would be great PR and exposure for all parties, even a NIL deal with one of the space programs at a nominal value would do wonders for UCF announced at or just before the game.

Question for those with 5G phones.

How has your data quality been at the games so far? With the 4G and LTE networks being overwhelmed and now that there are no 3G networks to throttle down to, my phone has been little more than a paperweight at both games. Throttling down to 2G is just plain useless. I don't really want to upgrade to a new phone, but if I knew 5G would be that much more beneficial at the games, I would certainly consider it.

The TMo fast and slow

My TMo Bro,
The fast:
Thanks for bringing back the trap music, swag surfing. I thinking you did a good job of mixing in music for different generations, even tossing in your fav song. ;-)
The flow getting into the game is much improved over past years.

The slow:
The traffic getting out is really slow. I park in the softball lot and drive into campus on 408 but can't leave that way. I'm forced to cross McColluch into random neighborhoods. I'm sure this displeases the Susans.
Shade. We need it for B12 games. Please consider building the stadium expansion on the SW side of the stadium in order to create shade on the field and in the stands.

T-Will future HC

Was curious, am I the only one who wants Terry to offer T-Will a contract that guarantees him the HC spot when Gus retires? With Gus contract coming up in 2 years and him not really being the youngest around, do you think it would be a bad idea to sign T-Will now as HC in waiting? The guys have basically made it clear they would take a bullet for the man and absolutely love him. I ask this because he is a young coach (this gives us a clear path for our program in the near and possibly long term future because of his age), Gus is near the end of his career, and someone soon is going to try to hire T-Will, so why not do it before anyone gets that chance?

Offense

Let’s talk about the offense 4 games in before we start conference play

The good - JRP, Richardson and Harvey look great running the ball. We go through stretches where it looks like some of the good offenses we’ve had the last few years. When healthy there’s a lot of weapons to use

The bad - The passing game gets stalled too easily. We’ve had some terrible drops. At least 3 sure TDs have been dropped and JRP has missed at least 2 easy TD throws. With his throwing ability he can’t miss the easy ones. Bowser has struggled and needs to continue to be phased down in carries. He just doesn’t seem to have it this year. I’d be interested to see scoring drives with Harvey/Richardson getting the majority of snaps vs Bowser.

Looking forward I really don’t think we’re far away from putting things together. If ROK and Hudson don’t drop throws and JRP makes an easy throw we’re looking at 40+ points against GT and those are plays we’re capable of making. I think with Harvey getting more snaps it’s going to make things easier for JRP too. Getting long runs from our RB on 1st down allows us to move quicker. I’m not going to pretend GT is a great team but they have size and speed on their defense as good as pretty much anyone in our conference except maybe Cincy. Our skill guys are 4 games in to playing together. The talent is there now it just needs to come together and make the plays they’re capable of.

I don’t miss losing games with sock boi

Just to be clear : 100 snaps on offense is entertaining but it didn’t win games against good defenses.

What I miss is a QB that can make a few throws . For me that is Mikey Keene in this system. I loved the way we finished the 2021 season with a game manager and strong running game. We had a passing game that complimented a strong running game.

Our offense looks very clunky and not crisp because Plumlee just isn’t a D1 passer yet. Will he be?

GAME 4: Georgia Tech @ UCF. Sim results, predictions...

9/21/2022 "Wreck" Edition:

Let's recap FAU...

I was there! We tailgated and endured the soaking rain. Thankfully it relaxed a bit aside from a small rain cloud during the third quarter. We sat right in the middle behind goal-posts in 217. I am convinced the UCF fans in the end-zone were critical in noise/distraction on the 4-down goal-line stand.

Ok, sim results and accuracy review:

The "math on paper" favored FAU offense a bit heavily but was "in acceptable range", 49-35. At the beginning of the game FAU's offense did show some flash...

My "heart" prediction was much closer, 45-21. I gave FAU one more score and my variance for offense and defense was within one score.

My friend's son Julian was the closest. 38-14. Variance? Offense was +2. Nailed the Defense. I am starting to think Julian is a walking time/space wormhole connected by string-theory to another end-point at a sportsbook in Atlantic City where numbers flow to his skull from 7 days in the future. I am tempted to tap his skills with the Florida lottery if he keeps this up...

Moving onto the Wreck...

----
Wreck Fun-Facts:

Georgia Tech's biggest sports rivalry is with the University of Georgia (UGA) in Athens, Georgia

Women students were first admitted in 1952

In 1961, Georgia Tech famously became the first college in the Deep South to allow African American students without needing a court order.

Their mascot is 'Buzz' the yellow jacket

Buzz first made an appearance at home games (football) in 1980

----
Players to watch for Wreck:

Jeff Sims - 6'4", 219, SO from Jacksonville, FL. Can scramble and does show flashes of talent.

E.J. Jenkins - 6'7", 243, RS SR from Fredericksburg, VA. South Carolina transfer. Very tall WR and has height, large stride.

Luke Benson - 6'4", 236, JR from Chalfont, PA. Syracuse transfer. Very capable TE that can catch.

***Onto the REAL Beef*** (or Herb-crusted Chicken, honey-buttered sweet potatoes and asparagus)

Weather forecast at 4:00PM Eastern kickoff (Updated 9/22):
Sunset: 7:19pm
Temp: 81F
Chance of rain: 5% (impossible...bring poncho anyway)

TV: ESPNU (update 9/22)

I ran 12 CPU simulations for a good math spread. I ran 11 of 12 with clear or light breezy conditions to approximate rain-chance. I really wanted Georgia Tech to be somewhat improved by now. They aren't. It's that simple. At the time of this write-up, Collins is still the coach, I think.

Average of 12 simulation results:

UCF 52
Wreck 21

Sim Avg Spread:
UCF -31 (Vegas: UCF -20.5 8:52PM 9/21/22)

"Heart" Prediction:

I think the Defense continues to gel, the question really is offense production. Over 40 is likely. I think over 50 is a bit much in the math, could happen?

UCF 45
Wreck 13

"Heart" spread:

CENTRAL FLORIDA: -32 (Vegas be damned)

My friend's son Julian's prediction:

UCF 45
Wreck 7

Julian's line of doom: UCF -38 (He's not old enough for Vegas, sorry)

For Sim-Football People...starting over for season. (GAME 1, SC State @ UCF linked)

Would you watch LIVE CPU vs CPU simulations of UCF's matchups for 2022 if posted here with adjusted math to make them as realistic as possible? (Using a modified version of NCAA Revamped)

If so, what games are of most interest to see how the "math falls"? I am planning to do a "test run" of UCF vs SC State soon.

Can someone name me a team...

I wonder at 3-1;is there a worst team with our record? We have played shit-tier teams and won 3 and will win 3 more since our schedule is so weak.

This is a rebuilding season with what I have seen this season.. If not Keene we should put in TC and let him learn the position. we are not winning the conference so we will play in a shit bowl if we go 8-4 or 6-6. We should make this season count for something and that's to see if we have a real QB for Gus's offense on our roster.
