UCF vs Louisville Game Weather Forecast

You never want to experience a multi-day "dry spell" prior to a UCF Home Game but that is what we have experienced in Orlando the last 4 days as unusual dry and hot weather has dominated most of our area.

DYK: This dry air has now lead to back-to-back 97 degree days for Orlando, FL?

More humid weather is now going to come in and with that, a higher chance of rain and thunderstorms for later this week.

Wed: High of 93, Humid with a stray PM Thunderstorm (40% chance)

Thur: High of 90, Afternoon Thunderstorm and humid. Rain chance 70%, .33 inch of rain, 46% chance Thunderstorms

Fri Day: High of 87, Cloudy with a couple of heavy thunderstorms in the afternoon; Rain chance 70%, .30 inch of rain, 2 hours of rain, 44% of Thunderstorms

Friday Sunset: 7:37 pm

Fri Night: Low of 76, Cloudy with 25% chance of rain, 6% chance of thunderstorms

Why is the importance of Premium Seating instead of stadium size misunderstood?

It's math. And math doesn't care about your UCFeelings.

I remember having a private meeting with Todd Stansbury. AD 2012-15. I was shocked to hear that majority of the stadium venue came from the minority of premium seating. Then he broke down the math. I am not privy to release those numbers. But remember the 80/20 rule my UCFriends. 80% of your revenue comes from 20% of your UCFans.

Let's do some basic math.
2 prices
$20 regular seats
$100 premium seats.

Breakeven is 5 regular seats for the price of 1 premium. And it's really not that simple because it costs more to house more people ie parking, security, bathrooms etc. If we have a 50k person stadium I would want 20%, 30% maybe even 45% of seats to be premium seats, to maximize revenue. As long as we aren't putting too high of barrier for new UCFans to go to games, our UCFocus should be premium seating and premium experiences. Again, we are not going to 5x our stadium size to 250,000 seats for regular $20 tickets to get the same revenue that 50k seat stadium with 40% premium seats with $100, $250, and $1,000 seats can bring in.

Remember, on the internet only one things matters. One thing. UCFacts.

Why Gus is committed to recruiting Georgia

Texting with JRP...interesting response.

So a friend texted me to figure out some games to attend and included a number I didn't have saved. This friend is well connected to Ole Miss. Come to find out the other number in the text is none other than JRP.

I wished him luck tonight. What he texted back was earth shattering. I legit could not believe it!

He seriously responded with...

"Thank you!!"

Can you believe he used 2 exclamation points?*

Loserville vs UCF Friday, Sep 9th. Lots of tix avail

I'm surprised to log into ticketmaster and notice a ton of resale tix and still some box office tix still available.

Have people not realized that football season is coming up? Should we expect a sell out for this game?

Some of the tickets look pretty cheap. I imagine if it is a sell out that buying a few of the cheap tix and then put them up for resale could be a thing.
I can't make the game so I put my tix up for resale for twice the price. But, the surrounding seats are below the actual ticket price. I guess I wait-n-see if
demand is greater than supply on this game.

***UCF MBB in top five for Winter Haven four-star PF Dylan James 🏀

...Dylan James of Winter Haven H.S. (same HS Chance McSpadden attended).

I interviewed James for an upcoming article for a different site and his coach told me that CJD came to WHHS on Sept. 9, the first day of the recruiting period. CJD is the third member of the Knights staff to have any type of contact with James.

"I talked to Coach [Robbie] Laing the first day that they were able to contact me [June 15] or the day after. We were on the phone for a while just talking about all the things that the college has to offer. There wasn’t a lot of talking about basketball, we were talking a lot about the campus and the school. I’ve also talked with Coach Mamadou N’Diaye."

Academics will play a role in James' decision. His mom is a physician. His brother plays for UNF and when he arrived there he already had an AA because he took classes at a Community College while still in high school.

James already has 16 offers including Alabama, Florida, Georgetown, Mississippi State and Virginia Tech. The associate head coach at Virginia visited James and his mother at WHSS today.

The power of the Dungeon

So I am walking into the TSA security line at the Asheville airport. I hear Go Knights as I am wearing a Space U shirt. I say Charge On. Then the guy says are you from the Dungeon ? I was like yah. We get to talking it's Greenville and I met his great family . We sat down had a great conversation over airport nachos, beer and a diet coke. I asked him , how did you know to ask if I was from the Dungeon and he said because I posted in roll call flying out of Asheville today.. I was like duh in my head . 😆. Greenville and Nauti repping UCF on Allegiant tonight ! GKCO.

Disney shareholder recommends spinning off ESPN

And some other options to boost profits...

...

In a letter to Disney CEO Bob Chapek on Monday, Loeb disclosed a "significant stake" in the entertainment giant and asked it to consider five initiatives, including:

  • A cost-cutting program that addresses margins and "the disposal of excess underperforming assets"
  • Preserving a suspension of its dividend initiated during the COVID-19 theme park closures and using free cash flow to pay down debt, repurchase shares or organically reinvest in the business
  • Acquiring Comcast's 33% minority stake in Hulu prior to its contractual deadline in early 2024 and integrating the streaming service into Disney+
  • Spinning off sports network ESPN
  • Refreshing the company's board with members who have experience in technology, advertising, and consumer engagement
He also disclosed that Third Point has filed Hart-Scott-Rodino approval with the Federal Trade Commission to engage more directly with Disney's management and board.

***Official Louisville Look-A-Like Thread***

Way to get the win last knight! Since our next game is only a week out and we have the holiday weekend coming up, I thought I'd start this one now. I didn't post a look-a-like thread for SCSU since they didn't have individual roster pics. Let's get it going with our ACC opponent, Louisville!

Remember, the post with the most likes is the unofficial winner. Be sure to like the posts you enjoy.
