Randy Pittman Future

Pittman is the most talented TE we have had since Jordan Akins and yet we continue to woefully underutilize him in
Malzahn’s offense. As much as I would hate to see it, would not blame Randy for entering into the portal and going
to a team that will showcase his skills. Not sure why any WR/TE would want to come to UCF and play, Gus’s offense is one level
above Army/Navy in desire to run the football.

Why am I not freaked out??

I have been around a long, long time. For many years, if we lost a big game (and make no mistake about it, today was a big game), I would scream and yell and be pissed for days. I don’t feel that way tonight. I’ve had a little time to think about it and it comes down to this:

A loss is now just a loss. A season is just a season. There is always next week or next year. In the past (pre Big 12), a loss had the potential to set the program back to the point we might be left behind forever. There was a desperation in each game and season that if we screwed up, it had the chance to derail our long term potential. We were always on the outside looking in and we were at risk of never being on the inside if the team lost the momentum. We should all be forever grateful to the 2013, 2017 and 2018 teams. They showed all of college football what we could be and now we are proud members of the Big 12.

We are now just outside the inner circle (SEC and Big10), but make no mistake, we are very close to being there. We might have had the Big Noon Kickoff because of Coach Prime, but the actual win today was the fan base showing up. Coaches, players and ADs will come and go, but a fan base endures. Why are schools like Nebraska still relevant? Their fan base makes them relevant.

So at the end of the day tonight stings but it is not a mortal wound. The real key to our future is us, the fans. If we show up and support the team in both good times and bad, we will not be ignored. There is too much good in our corner for us not to be a nationally relevant program for the foreseeable future. Keep cranking our grads and be competitive. Catch lighting in the bottle a couple more times and we will be a blue blood.

I hate this loss, but the sky is not falling.

Who Would Take Our HC Job?

Unfortunately, I believe we are stuck with Gus as our HC. Jimmy Sexton represents Gus and the contract buyout would be outrageous. Justin Fuente was a very average HC at Virginia Tech but had some success at Memphis. Fuente at least has some HC experience. I have always liked Scott Frost offense and tempo, however Frost got almost 15 million in buyout money from Nebraska.

Knight Nation showed up, Gus fumbles the bag

The day was an amazing show of the passion of Knight Nation. We showed that we are a rabid fan base and an engaged student body. Gus blew much of the value of that by bringing his Navy game plan. Gus did real damage today on the brand. TikTok won’t do anything about it because he has a foot out the door. I’m proud to be a Knight, and how Knight Nation showed up. I’m sad Gus blew it. We didn’t even appear competitive. Every part of the team was executing poorly at the wrong times. Unfortunately this is going to continue thru at least next season. I don’t see a new AD firing Gus as the first move

We will have a lot of conjecture but it’s simple , request for UCF journalist

We lost at the LOS on both sides of the ball.
Our identity is running the ball and we couldn’t.
On defense our pass rush was very weak against a noted weak offensive line .

We lost this game up front and from what I saw Colorado was the more physical team.

I humbly ask that we ask how that happened because that would have been the last reason I thought we would have lost.

I would also ask why we can’t get up for the big moment and the big games.

Todays Gameplan

Head scratching that we had 2 weeks to game plan and this is what we came up with. Wasn't Gus forced to hand over play calling before last season? Why is it back in his hands. RJ getting 9 carries in the first half is criminal, especially with Montgomery out. Tried to get cute and fancy with the play calling today and blew up in his face.

Defense is a whole other story, makes sense why we brought in what seems like 20 DBs this offseason

Dungeonite OGs: Look at our UCF Brand

Guys - I remember when we freaked out when a 4 star hinted at maybe visiting our campus.

In 2017 we were a national story , but an accident

Today, I watch 4k national media on X and on TV showing off a UCF brand that is becoming a national brand. A conference and network not treating us as an accident but an opportunity to build their own brand and value.

10-15-20 years later gents. What a ride. Win or lose this is just amazing.
