Final Comprehensive Football Team Recruiting Rankings for 2024 (Updated Aug 2024)

After most players have finally enrolled (or didn't enroll) for their 2024 teams, Rivals has published their final comprehensive recruiting rankings for 2024 (includes all Dec and Spring Transfers too).

#28 Overall for UCF in 2024

#1 for UCF in current Big 12 (I guess OU and UT are still listed in Big 12 because most of those recruits and transfers signed while the teams were still a part of the Big 12, aka by June 30, 2024)

UCF is currently ranked #21 for current HS rankings for 2025 class and #1 in the Big 12:

The school's interim president refused the request, citing a passage in state law that exempts information that "would constitute a clearly unwarranted invasion of an individual's privacy."

"Under FOIA's privacy exemption, information is exempt if (1) it is personal in nature, and (2) disclosure would reveal little to nothing about the inner workings of the government. Information is personal in nature when it is intimate, embarrassing, private, or confidential," Michigan State wrote in its denial.

ESPN believes the denial is a violation of state open records law and has engaged a Michigan-based law firm to pursue potential litigation.

Chauncey Magwood is eager to earn a spot within UCF's primary wide receiver rotation.

The former Kentucky player transferred in prior to last season and appeared in the first four games before opting to redshirt in order to preserve a year of eligibility. He finished with four catches for 40 yards.

He's poised to take on a much bigger role in 2024.

"I want to contribute to the team the best that I can," Magwood said. "Everybody has got personal goals on the team, but I'm a team player. I want to achieve both. I want to do whatever I can as a player to help us be better than last year and be better than every team in the Big 12, and just be the best in the nation."

If Magwood plays anything like he does in EA Sports College Football 25, he's going to have a great season. The video game has taken the gaming world by storm since its July 19 release. In the game, Magwood is one of UCF's best players.

"It's crazy," Magwood said. "The last one was (NCAA Football) 14. I played it as a kid and now I'm in the game. The ability to play as yourself in the game (is amazing)."

Magwood said it's been a fixation for the entire team.

"At the conference (media day) a few of the guys played it there and when they came back everybody had questions," Magwood said. "I didn't know my rating. When I finally got to play it, I'm on it all night. I'm still playing it to this day. It's camp and you're tired, but I'm playing the game. All my boys back home are saying they had this many yards or receptions playing me. I'm like okay."

Magwood also offered his perspective on UCF quarterback KJ Jefferson, a transfer from Arkansas who arrived in January.

"One thing I can say about KJ is he didn't come here to improve his stats in order to get to the NFL," Magwood said. "He came here to win and be a part of the team, and lead. I've seen a lot of good things from him. He wants to be a great player, teammate and quarterback."

Like the rest of his teammates, Magwood said a big focus this year is to finish games. UCF lost too many close games a year ago.

UCF's transfer portal class ranks as one of the best in the nation.

That's not only because of experienced veterans. The Knights also added their share of talented younger players with multiple years of eligibility remaining. That group includes linebacker Xe'ree Alexander, who is coming off a standout freshman year at Idaho.

In 2023, the Seattle native was a FCS Freshman All-American with 75 tackles, four TFLs, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. He saw a high level of interest in transfer portal, ultimately visiting Cal, Michigan State and UCF before committing to the Knights.

"It was a good process," Alexander told UCFSports.com earlier this spring. "Right when I hit the portal, I was getting 30-40 calls a day. It was really overwhelming. I never got that attention in high school. UCF felt like home, like family. They treated me like I was part of the team... The family atmosphere is what really caught my eye."

Alexander, who made a splash this spring, said coaches loved his freshman year film.

"(Coaches talked about) the way I can move from sideline to sideline," Alexander said. "My speed. I was really moving. Then playing downhill. With this defensive line, I can play straight downhill. I love hearing that. Using my speed and physicality to make a play."

Alexander spoke to the media again following UCF's second day of preseason camp.

"I feel a lot more comfortable," Alexander said. "The heat, I'm still getting used to it, but I'm loving it. I love waking up every day and seeing the sunshine."

He's been playing the will linebacker position, but says he can play any spot if needed.

"Put me wherever," Alexander said. "I'm ready to play... I'm trying to show everybody I'm a dog. I can play. Put me on the field."

He loves how Ted Roof's defense is coming together.

"We've really developed our pressure, our blitzes and everything," Alexander said. "It's been great, you know, trying to get the quarterback to throw the ball really early."

As a freshman, Idaho played FBS teams Nevada and Cal. Now he gets to play a full season in the Big 12.

"I'm really excited," Alexander said. "You know, it doesn't matter who we play. Every team, they got players. They got players they can play. But when I step on that field, I'm here to do my job. I'm here to take someone's head off and just do my best and compete and give back to the team."
