***Max Buchanan recaps UCF official visit: 'It's definitely home' (+ video) ⚔️🏈

Max Buchanan always feels at home during his visits to UCF and it was no different during this weekend's trip, which served as the official visit for the highly-touted interior offensive line prospect from Sanford (Fla.) Seminole.

"It's definitely home," Buchanan told UCFSports.com. "It's not too far. I feel very comfortable here. I come here a lot. Even when I don't tell a lot of people, I'll come over and watch practice. I'm close with everyone here and I like it a lot."

UCF will host the majority of their official visits in June beginning with Bounce House Weekend in two weeks. This weekend was a smaller group focused on the offensive line - Buchanan was paired with Jaquez Joiner from Cocoa. Joiner was one of UCF's first 2025 commits.

🏀 Big 12 Basketball Tournament All-Access Pass 🏀

Pricey but at least the Big 12 likes to think there will be no break up of schools in the next 7 years.

If the Big 12 expands, it could become a hot ticket if you get in now but still…quite the yearly trip for eastern folks.

UCF Softball player Jas Williams featured in SI Swimsuit Issue

Now a redshirt senior shortstop at UCF, Williams committed to the University of Oregon on a softball scholarship when she was just 14 years old. During her freshman season, she was named first team All-Pac-12, starting 23 games. As a sophomore she played in all of the Ducks’ 24 games.

After taking her junior year off from competition to give birth to her son, Zee, in 2020, Williams returned to the field for her senior year before transferring to UCF for the ’23 season. Last summer, the California native graduated with a degree in interdisciplinary studies, and this spring, she earned her degree in sociology.

“When this opportunity came about, I could not jump faster,” Williams says of posing for the 2024 SI Swimsuit Issue. “I was like, I want to do this so bad.”

In sharing her story, she wishes to empower other mothers and athletes in particular to reach for the stars.

“Showing women that you can do whatever you set your mind to and [that] there are still opportunities for you [is my goal],” Williams says. “Just because you have a kid now, you get to do everything with your kid by your side, which is so fun because you get to create the experience with them, as well. My son is here [on set], so he gets to be a part of everything that mommy does, and he’s having the time of his life. I’m having the time of my life … I could not be more grateful that I was chosen to do this and I’m loving every second of it.”

🏈 Strength and Conditioning

Is it just me or have y’all noticed a heavy run/conditioning emphasis the past few posts on the football IG page? Not sure if anyone has gotten any insight. I’m seeing “Kincy Effect”‘ comments. Our social media people do a great job creating hype but the hopeful fan in me sees this as us emphasizing speed and conditioning maybe more than we did under Dawson. It also could just be good marketing; however, the last guy was let go for a reason.

Those in the know: what are you hearing about new S&C Coach Kincy?

OT- Chicago restaurant suggestions

My wife and I are going to be in Chicago for a trade show in August and it happens to also be our anniversary. I'm hoping some of our Chicago Knights can help with suggestions. We've been to Chicago probably 25 times and have always had great meals, but we're looking to take it up a notch for the anniversary dinner. I'd like to try a Michelin star restaurant and are considering trying to get a reservation at Alinea. Money really isn't an issue for the right place and we don't drink so we can spend more on good food. I checked on Tripadvisor and it actually rates Miss Ricky's in the Virgin hotel as the top restaurant in the city. We would also love to find a great Omakase place as we both love sushi, or Italian as a fallback.

Any suggestions or recommendations would be much appreciated.
