***Top prospects expected for Nauts vs. Knights Spring Game***

UCF's Friday night spring game is expected to draw a score of top prospects, including some key targets in the 2025 class.

It was a year ago at this time Taevion Swint pledged his verbal commitment to the Knights. He's among the players that should be on hand inside the Bounce House.

UCF has jumped to the top of the list for Roswell (Ga.) offensive lineman Andrew Stargel, who recently made it down to Orlando for a two-day visit.

Stargel was on campus March 10-11, coinciding with the opening of spring practice.

"It was great," Stargel told UCFSports.com. "The visit, then watching the practice to see how they coach. Honestly, it just made me fall more in love with the program."

Stargel was offered by UCF in late January when offensive line coach Herb Hand visited his high school. Not long thereafter, Gus Malzahn and Ted Roof paid a visit themselves.

"I was pretty hyped about (that visit)," Stargel said. "Coach Gus said he turned on my film and after watching five plays said, 'Get this kid on the phone.' I've also been talking to Coach Hand for a while. It was great meeting with him. He's definitely someone who can develop me into a man and a better football player. He can take me to the next leve, that's for sure. He's a great person to be around. He treats his players with a lot of respect."

Stargel already knew a few UCF players, including Kylan Fox and Johnathan Cline. He met the entire offensive line, including Paul Rubelt, Amari Kight, Cam Kinnie, Adrian Medley and Marcellus Marshall.

"They were really cool guys," Stargel said.

UCF sees him as a future guard or center.

"We had a meeting with Coach Malzahn before we left," Stargel said. "I love Coach Gus. The amount of respect I have for that man is crazy. I grew up watching him coach at Auburn. I was watching him in the National Championship. Going in there and seeing his Auburn rings was pretty cool. Coach Gus is someone I'd definitely want to play for and be my head coach."

Stargel has more than 30 offers, including Georgia Tech, Cincinnati, South Florida, Kansas, Tulane, Boston College, Pittsburgh, Indiana and Vanderbilt. He plans to trim his list to a top five soon.

"Let's just say UCF is in my top two and they're not No. 2," Stargel said. "For me, relationships are one of the biggest things. Where I have the best relationship is where I'll be going and as of right now me and UCF have the greatest relationship by a mile. The weather is great too. They treated me very well. They respected me and my mom. They didn't leave her out at all. At the practice, my mom talked to Gus' wife, Kristi, for like the entire time. I liked how I got to talk to a bunch of the players at the Garvy. I feel like I saw everything on the golf cart tour. They totally did all the extra things to make it an extra special visit.

"Coach Gus definitely said I'm a priority for him. He wanted me to know that. At the end we all shook hands and hugged, they made us feel great."

Stargel said an official visit is in the works, likely for Bounce House Weekend on May 31.

OT: St. Pete resident floods city with reports on AirBnb, Vrbo owners

Armed with reverse image search and aggrieved by St. Petersburg's unaffordable housing market, Marley Price has become a thorn in the side of Airbnb owners across the city. Since late February, the 27-year-old resident has flagged more than 100 homes she alleged were illegally operating as short-term rentals. St. Pete's zoning regulations allow property owners to rent out their homes month to month, Housing and Neighborhood Services administrator Amy Foster said in an email. Rental terms shorter than 30 days are allowed only up to three times within a 365-day period.
She heard back from Council member Richie Floyd, who told Axios he shares her concerns about the impact on the housing market. "These were once affordable houses — the starter homes that the city should want to have available," Price told Axios.

OT: Sports Area in Backyard/ Sideyard

Has anyone created a dedicated space in their backyard for kids sports, like a basketball hoop?

I’ve got young, awesome, active kids. They commonly play basketball in the driveway or baseball/ football in the wrap-around area of our corner lot. The problem is that I live on a fairly busy arterial road, and my driveway is graded. So, balls (particularly basketballs) are always at risk of entering the road. I hate it. I’d like to move my kids’ play area behind my fence line. The only unused area is the side/ wrap-around area, since my most of my backyard is chewed from a pool, pavers, etc.

Setting aside the unique land regulations of different cities/ counties….

Has anyone done a project like this?

***2026 QB Jayvon Gilmore excited about UCF offer***

Jayvon Gilmore's trip to Orlando last weekend was a memorable one.

The Class of 2026 quarterback from Columbia, S.C. was invited to attend UCF's home finale against Houston and got some special news right before kickoff.

"A few weeks ago I spoke to (UCF Director of Player Personnel) Mr. Cory Giddings," Gilmore said. "We've had some great conversations. He said they've checked out my film and wanted to get me down there as soon as possible. So we went down for UCF's game against Houston, the last game of the season.

"Before the game, I had an amazing conversation with (offensive coordinator) Coach (Darin) Hinshaw. He was basically telling me how their offense works and how I'd be a good fit. He said they loved my arm strength and what I did on film, how I'm a leader on the field, just the total package.

"(Hinshaw) said they were offering, which is just a huge blessing. I was very excited. He said they're very excited to see how I continue to develop."

UCF is Gilmore's sixth offer and first from a Power Five program, joining Miami (Ohio), Austin Peay, Sewanee, South Carolina State and Troy.

Gilmore also met head coach Gus Malzahn.

"Coach Malzahn was amazing," Gilmore said. "He recruited Cam Newton. He welcomed me with open arms. He said they were excited to have me there."

Gilmore said he loved the experience in the Bounce House and will definitely be back for another visit in the spring.

"The environment was great," Gilmore said. "I'm definitely coming back in the spring and probably next summer for camp too. I really enjoyed myself at UCF."

A first-year starter at Ben Lippen High School, Gilmore passed for 1,767 yards with 22 touchdowns during his sophomore season. He's already 6-foot-5 with plenty room to fill out at 190 pounds. He said he's been growing about an inch a year since the sixth grade.

"I think I had a pretty good year," Gilmore said. "We fell short in the first round of the playoffs, but we had a pretty young team. Most of our starters were sophomores."

Hold up.....the Arizona Coyotes are moving to Utah?

How the hell is the NHL allowing this charade to continue?

The Coyotes needed a new home after Glendale ended the team's 18-year run in the city, opting not to renew their lease at what's now known as Desert Diamond Arena. The Coyotes have a contract to play the next three seasons and potentially a fourth at ASU while they hope a new arena in Tempe is approved and constructed. A vote from the city council will come Nov. 29.

They'll share Mullett Arena with the Sun Devils men's hockey team, with both of their logos painted at center ice.
