Major star power will converge on the Bounce House this Saturday for UCF's inaugural Big 12 home game against Baylor. The recruiting contingent includes the vast majority of UCF's current commitments as well as some major targets spread across the 2024 through 2026 classes. In total, more than 100 recruits are expected.

UCF's 2024 class is currently ranked No. 26 nationally by Rivals while the early 2025 class is No. 15.

Of particular note, four-star OL Eddy Pierre-Louis and TE Tayvion Galloway are expected to be in attendance. Both are primary targets in the current class who also visited officially during the summer. Pierre-Louis has a final five of UCF, Miami, Oklahoma, Oregon and Texas A&M. Galloway is focused on UCF, Colorado, Louisville, Arkansas, Purdue and Miami.

The 2025-26 group includes a whopping 17 four-star prospects and many more high-level players.

Here's a look at the top names expected:

Marcus Downs, the No. 1 defensive lineman in South Carolina, will visit UCF in December.

The Class of 2024 prospect has a lengthy offer list that includes schools such as Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Miami, Michigan State, North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia Tech.

He initially committed to Georgia Tech in August before reopening his recruitment in October. UCF offered in September.

The December 8 visit will be Downs' first time at UCF. He's been talking to defensive tackles coach Kenny Martin and doing his own research.

"I love how the campus looks," Downs said. "The coaches seem real cool. I feel like UCF is a good fit for me."

UCF has 17 commitments in their 2024 recruiting class, though does not currently have a commit from a defensive lineman.

OT: Looking at new laptops

My current computers are a getting older and starting to act funny. The curser is moving around by itself. If I have multiple tabs on a browser open the computer will switch me to a different tab by itself while I am typing on one tab. It will open apps on its own. I tried reinstalling windows but still having the same issues. And now my other computer which is the same make and about the same age is doing the same thing. I find it strange since one is running Windows 10 and the other is running 11. They are both touch screens. One is an i3 and one is an i7. My wife needs a computer for work so having both of these acting up is a major issue and they are older so I might just buy a new one. But I will take any suggestions on how to fix these.

Looking at new laptops in the 400 -700 range.
Is there any real difference in brands? Dell, HP, Lenovo, Acer etc.?
AMD vs Intel? Everything I’ve read has said the AMD Ryzen 7 outperforms the Core i7 in most benchmarks. But I am more worried about compatibility and just running applications. A marginal difference in speed is not going to be noticeable for what Mrs Z and I are doing.
Is there a reason to look at more expensive ones like MS Surface or just the more expensive models from the other brands?
Our current computers are easily 5 years old which is OLD in technology years. So we keep things a while.
Any recommendations would be great.

Today!

It's hard to believe Today was already a full year ago. It seems like just yesterday we were all freaking out over Today. For me, Today made me feel like I was 8 years old again waking up on a snowy Christmas morning... so excited to see what incredible presents Santa had delivered. I didn't know what would be in those packages under the tree, but I knew I could barely contain my excitement over tearing into them to find out. Today gave me those same feelings, and I'm glad it wasn't a let down.

Maybe on this 1st anniversary of Today, Knight fans from all walks of life and political leanings can come together to celebrate the miracle of Today.

Happy 1st Today-iversary to all Knights and Nauts.

The fireworks started early for UCF on this Fourth of July.

Kylan Fox, a four-star tight end prospect from Georgia's Grayson High School, announced his commitment to the Knights over Florida State, Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, Miami and Colorado.

"It's the family environment they have," Fox said about UCF. "It's the people in the building. The relationships with everybody. I feel the most at home when I'm in Orlando."

An important part of the decision process was his mother, Brandi.

"She's on board with it," Fox said. "She felt like they recruited her just as hard as they recruited me. She felt like no other schools have done that. That's what really put them over the top."

UCF coaches have compared him to former Auburn and NFL tight end CJ Uzomah.

"(They've talked about me) being the flex guy most of the time, more of a receiver type tight end," Fox said. "I can put my hand down sometimes and block. The fit part is definitely there... Just be the guy in the offense Coach (Gus) Malzahn is really looking for."

Aside from Malzahn and tight ends coach Brian Blackmon, Fox was particularly close with Alex Mathis, UCF's Director of Player Personnel.

"We've always been close," Fox said. "When he got to UCF he started recruiting me. He was very hyped about (my commitment)."

UCF is making big waves in Georgia in this recruiting cycle. On Saturday, four-star offensive lineman Waltclaire Flynn Jr., Fox's Grayson teammate, joined the class. A day later, UCF landed four-star linebacker Qua Birdsong from Troup County.

"(It'll be great) to have people on the team where I'm from," Fox said. "I'll have family wherever I'm at... The Georgia to Orlando connection is going to be strong. It's time to ball."

Fox is the latest in a series of high-level recruiting additions for Gus Malzahn as UCF makes the transition to the Big 12 this upcoming season.

"We've got a chance to play for a National Championship in the Big 12," Fox said. "Coach Malzahn knows what it looks like because he coached at Auburn where he won one. He knows what it takes to be on the national platform and be the face of college football."

COLUMN: UCF Football Has a Long Climb Ahead

Look, I’ll be honest: It’s been a draining few days at the office. The time change means it’s getting darker earlier, each day. The weather has been cold and wet outside. The UCF Men’s Basketball team lost a heartbreaker against Ole Miss on Sunday. Things haven’t been the best. In short, I’m cranky. So, reader beware, this isn’t going to be a feel-good article from “Wild Bill.” Walk away now if you are looking to read a puff piece about the Knights, today. It’s time to take a reflective look at where we are.
