Osceola four-star RB Taevion Swint leads UCF's class

pzwakkmohucqxwrszw5d

UCF is on track to sign their best recruiting class in school history. The group of 19 commitments, including eight four-star players, currently ranks No. 17 nationally and No. 1 in the Big 12.

Taevion Swint started it all.

The Osceola running back committed more than a year ago in April 2023, announcing his decision following UCF's spring game. He returned last month for his official visit during Bounce House Weekend.

***NEW AD - BREAKING NEWS 🚨🚨🚨

This is coming way out of left field... did not expect this name at all. But a source connected to the search claims this is the AD candidate targeted by UCF President Dr. Alexander Cartwright and should be official soon:

Arkansas State AD Terry Mohajir

This is the "surprise" candidate being whispered. The other finalists were Auburn AD Allen Greene and Buffalo AD Mark Alnutt.

Thankful for the real UCF fans

I'm thankful for all the true UCF fans. Thank you for showing up, for cheering your hearts out, and for being part of something bigger than wins and losses. Yes, we all want the team to succeed, and it’s frustrating when things don’t go our way. But being a fan is about so much more than the scoreboard. It’s about those six or seven Saturdays each year when we come together—family, friends, even strangers—to share something special. Those moments in the Bounce House, the cheering, the chants, the excitement of game day—those are what we remember long after the season ends.

I feel bad for those who say they’re not renewing their tickets because they’re missing the real point. Players and coaches will come and go. Some seasons will be amazing; others might be tough. But the experience—the tailgates, the traditions, the energy of the crowd—that’s what makes it all worth it. Don’t let a disappointing season take that away from you. Those moments in the stadium create memories that last far beyond the wins and losses. For that, I’m grateful. Charge On! 🖤💛

Happy Thanksgiving FIWs…

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. What are we thankful for today?

I am blessed with a wonderful family. I have been married to my best friend for 31 years. We have two young adult daughters who are doing great and are both getting married next year. We actually like both of their fiancé’s too.😀. I still have both parents at 57, who will be spending Thanksgiving with us. We have everything that we need and love a very comfortable life. I do not take any of it for granted.

Who is the best College Head Football Coach today

Some friends and I were talking and the topic of who is the best coach in college football today. I will say, many had a hard time with saying more than 1. After some of the key retirements, departures for the NFL, and lack of success at new locations. Is there an active GOAT or GOATS?

Second Question. If Money wasn’t an option. What current HC would you love to have at UCF?

Tell me why we "can't afford" the buyout

When UCF hired Gus Malzahn before the 2021 season, we were making around $8M in revenue share from the AAC. Total UCFAA revenue for FY ended 6/30/22 was $69M.

In FYs ended 6/30/24 and 6/30/25, we got a half share of Big 12 revenue, or about $20M per year. Total revenue budget for FY ended 6/30/25 is $97M.....up 40% in three years.

For FY ended 6/30/26, our full B12 rev share should grow to around $41M. Total UCFAA budget should be around $120M.....up 73% in four years.

Yes, the House settlement for profit sharing will be an added expense (maximum is $20.5M for year 1, I believe)....

Yes, salaries and expenses have grown....

Yes, we have ambitious plans to improve facilities....

But, you can't tell me we can't find $12M paid out now through 2028 to change the downward trajectory of this program.

Athletic Director Hot Board

May as well get this started. I see no way Tik Tok Terry keeps his job long-term after the Gus extension debacle. Let’s look at some quick highlights of TTT’s tenure here:

-Killed all football momentum by hiring (and inexplicably giving an extension with a crippling buyout) to the worst in-game coach in America in Gus
-0 men’s basketball tournament appearances
-Completely embarrassed himself and the baseball program with the Joe Girardi debacle
-A grand total of one bowl win and zero conference championships
-Let our best coach in coach Abe walk out the door and replaced her with a coach who has run that program into the ground too
-Terrible game day experience (what will the health department shut down this week?)
-Cried poor a million times

Will he go down as the worst athletic director in UCF history? I know GOL was the AD for a few weeks and that was a train wreck but I still say this is worst.

Hopefully our next AD is here soon. I don’t see how they can be any worse.

UCF officially announces AD Terry Mohajir

From Cartwright

Good morning,

I want to give you a heads up that today will be announcing the hiring of vice president and director of athletics Terry Mohajir (pronounced MO-HODGE-ER), who is the ideal leader to build on our momentum and take our program to the next level.

Formerly Arkansas State University’s vice chancellor for intercollegiate athletics, Terry is one of 13 members of the College Football Playoff Selection Committee, and he was named one of the top five non-Power 5 athletic directors in the nation by Stadium.

Terry is a high-energy leader who has demonstrated success in raising a school’s national profile by hiring high-quality coaches and developing outstanding facilities that enhance the experiences of student-athletes, fans and donors. Most importantly, he cares deeply about student-athletes’ success in competition, in the classroom and after they graduate.

We will be announcing Terry’s hiring later this morning to all of Knight Nation. You are invited to watch our introductory news conference via YouTube at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday. You can watch it here:https://youtu.be/BOhGtIy4rmI

Terry says, “I’m excited for the opportunity to build on the tremendous momentum UCF’s talented student-athletes, coaches and staff have established with the enthusiastic support of Knight Nation and so many generous donors. There’s no doubt in my mind that together we will continue to construct the best athletics program in the country by providing exceptional resources and services to our students. I’m ready to charge on with Knight Nation.”

Terry’s first job at UCF will be to hire a head football coach, and he has already started that process. He is known for hiring innovative, offensive-minded coaches.

While at Arkansas State, Terry’s accomplishments include:

  • The school’s football team winning four Sun Belt Conference championships and playing in a bowl game every year in his first eight seasons. Overall, the Red Wolves have won 25 conference titles in all sports during his tenure.
  • More than $90 million in facility enhancements, including new premium football seating areas, new tennis courts, a new outdoor track and a state-of-the-art operations center for all student-athletes that houses an auditorium, training area, weight room, locker rooms and a lounge. The operations center was funded entirely with $29 million in private money.
  • Delivering on a guarantee that every student-athlete who graduates earns a job or admission to graduate school. The Red Wolves have achieved the 100 percent guarantee every year since the initiative’s inception six years ago.
I hope you will join me in welcoming Terry, his wife, Julie, and their three children, Maria, Molly and Marco, to Knight Nation.

Go Knights, and Charge On!

Do we have an identity??

Sorry in advance for the new thread in a sea of new threads after a loss.

However, can someone tell me what kind of team we are trying to be? Obviously, our defense blows (500+ yards tonight). The defense cannot get a stop when they need it, not particularly good on 3rd down, wears down very easily (conditioning issue?) We have known that for 2+ years. We aren't a physical team at all. Clearly, we can't pass and don't have a sophisticated passing attack. We can run the ball, occasionally, but is that mostly because RJ Harvey is so good? RJ Harvey easily our best player right now and it's not even close. We don't go 'fast' like we used to. In a lot of ways, we go really slow now. We make endless substitutions and are always up against the play clock. We don't appear to be a disciplined team. If you are an opposing team, other than 'stop RJ Harvey', what do you fear when playing UCF?

What is our identity? What are we trying to be here? I can't even figure it out.

I lean more and more towards leave on his own terms. It feels like we would have to go 3-9 or worse next year for him to even be considered being given the boot. Maybe I'm wrong and that lower buyout in 2025 would be the difference. Quite frankly, I don't wish for losses either, I just think 6-6 or 7-5 peak next year with him in charge. If he played out the contract, 8-4 peak. If you are okay with that, we are not the same. Only scenario I could even see a Big 12 title under Gus: if he has an RJ Harvey-level QB and an RJ-level WR and maybe an RJ-level edge rusher. That's big NIL dollars and also the wins would assume better game management, play-calling, health, and the ball bouncing our way. Anyways, like it or not, this is where we appear to stand. What say you?

Odds of a bowl game (APR)

First must win against Utah.

#22 in APR which determines who gets bowls out of 5-7 teams if not enough teams make a bowl game.

Teams above us not at bowl eligibility and with 4/5 wins. 3 win teams with 2 games left also listed

Northwestern (4)
Wisconsin (5) would get in above us no matter what
Air Force (3)
Wake Forest (4)
Utah (4)
Auburn (4)

We need Northwestern, Air Force, Wake Forest, Utah (whom we play), and Auburn to lose the remainder of their games. And a lot of 5 win teams to not get to 6.

What are the odds? Not high lmao

Country Rolled: UCF Knights clinch losing season with loss at West Virginia

The UCF Knights dropped to 4-7 on the 2024 season with a loss at West Virginia. This ensures that UCF will have it's second consecutive losing season, and miss out on a bowl game berth for the first time in 8 years. Head Coach Gus Malzahn and players are disappointed and frustrated with the result and vow to work to finish strong in the season finale.

For West Virginia, the win clinches a bowl game, and Head Coach Neal Brown felt his team gained momentum from the start of the game, which propelled them to victory.
