Big 12 playing itself out of the CFP???

At the time of this post:
- #14 BYU is losing 14-0 to #21 Arizona State
- #16 Colorado is losing 17-7 to Kansas

Army is ranked #19 and plays #6 Notre Dame tonight. Boise State is ranked #12 with games against Wyoming and OSU left.

If BYU and Colorado both lose today, and Army beats #6 Notre Dame I feel like it creates a probable situation where the Big 12 Champion is ranked below SEC, ACC, B1G, and AAC/MWC champions + not ranked high enough to get an at large bid.

How long is too long?

To make an announcement on the future of Gus/this football team?

Florida made an announcement on their plans with Billy Napier and in that short time frame their recruiting has already picked up momentum.

The landscape of college football has changed. Early signing day is two weeks away and our class is in shambles. Doesn't seem like we have any momentum anywhere since many think Gus is a lame Duck. So if he is a lame duck and we plan on getting rid of him in the offseason, why not just pull the plug now. Let the new coach get a head start especially if he's already on the current staff.

But if they do plan on keeping Gus, why not clear the air and address it too potentially give us a boost in recruiting. Everyday that goes by seems like it is just going to make things worse. Wouldn't it benefit us to make a decision sooner rather than later?

OT: Anyone on Bluesky?

Who are good follows on there? I just got on:

Add me - my issue with these upstart networks is you can't easily import the people you follow elsewhere.

I don't have invite codes yet but will issue them once I can.

edit: before ppl ask - bluesky is a new social network launched by the twitter founder after he left https://buffer.com/resources/bluesky-social/

A little positivity from Knoxville-ran into the GOAT this morning…

Leaving the hospital this morning after a depressing night thinking about the game/season and pulled up to a stop light next to a blacked out Maxima. Noticed they had a UCF tag which isn’t abnormal in Knoxville, so I rolled down my window to yell Charge On! This guy clearly knew what was up bc he immediately opened his window and all that came out of the car was 🤙…

Once I saw who I was dealing with said ‘we love you’ . He said it back, said he’s hurting with us this season but knows it’ll get better.

He obviously works for Tennessee but he’s got UCF stuff all over his car. What a dude

I’m applying for AD

Edit: this is a joke in good fun.
Here is my plan:

- My base salary is $200k - I’m giving back to the pool
- I’m calculating overall lost cash flow considering opportunity cost of doing nothing. I’m leveraging the program a bit for a 20 year $20M note considering the cluster**** TTT has gotten us into.
- Best of luck Gus - we are negotiating a settlement
- I’m going low cost on a head coach and using the differential on players. Upcoming coach in there division.. The Go-Go guy will be our offensive coordinator. In total we will save $1.5M per year on coaches salary that can go to players. This is a quick rebuild strategy that we will ladder out of in a few years.
- The $20M note - $6-8M to Gus thanks to my predecessor. I’ll never write a shit contract like that you have my word. $12M to NIL for next 3 years.
- I’m sliding in a few basis points into the student fee. $1M per year - fck those kids
- Concessions will all be fixed. That said , I want to hear from the dungeon on better food options.
- Gameday can get way better between food , entertainment , etc. I want this to be a #1 choice for folks to go on Saturdays.

Extras:
- Dungeon members get 1 billboard a game to trash whoever they want holding coaches and players accountable.
- Brandon becomes the Director of YODA Yielder of Dungeonite accountability

What else guys? Let’s have some fun. We can send the final product to Cartwright 😂😂

OT: $6,000 per day for 2 day home commercial shoot. Need ZOYSIA or BERMUDA grass in yard

This is my largest ever home shoot location budget a client has ever given to me and it would be cool if it ended up in the wallet of one of your (or a dear friend/family member.

If you or a good friend has a good size yard with Zoysia or Bermuda grass (can't have St Augustine) in the Orlando area, I will be glad to include it as a top option for our client.

Large Oak tree on property is a plus too.

Target shoot date is Dec 16-17 and client will offer up to $1,000 extra for your decorator to take down and put back up Christmas decorations if need be. Also, another $500 for extra watering so help the grass stay green thru the shoot.

Shoot would take place 50% or more in the yard with lifestyle shots in Kitchen and Family Room.

If interested...shoot me a DM as I will be out scouting this afternoon and tomorrow.

NOTE: All shots are permitted thru the Orlando Film Commission and each home receives a multi-million liability policy.

Payment is received on the morning of the shoot. (No "checks in the mail" scenarios).

Thanks!

NEW: Can UCF beat West Virginia to get one step closer to a bowl game?

With two games remaining in the 2024 season, the Knights have no margin for error if they want to make their 9th straight bowl game appearance.

The task starts with a tough road contest against the West Virginia Mountaineers.

Head Coach Gus Malzahn knows his team has to focus on one game at a time if they want to achieve their goal.

More here from Andrew Cherico ... for the Sons of UCF.

You know whats worse than losing today?

Seeing an email show up in my in box at 8:38 PM proclaiming my usf bulls are going bowling.

A couple years ago I bought tickets to the game in our second home through their athletic department. I guess they think I am fan or something. Seeing that news tonight just sickens me on what our season became. I know our conference is better and the money will be rolling in ,but in a way none of that matters if we are not winning.

Will gus retire, or is it all BS?

This season reminds me a lot of GOLs last season. I know there are other threads about this… but I want some hope. Also… not buying this crap about we can’t afford to fire him. I think we can get the money to make it happen. I don’t want him to have any part of anything in regards to UCF footballl. Recruiting or otherwise. Gus is played out hot garbage.

Fire TMo and Fire Gus

We need a change at both positions especially with the upcoming payment structure change that needs to be managed across all sports.

Gus has been washed since the end of 2022. It's been over for him.

Does anyone trust TMo to make the next football hire?

UCF needs to clean house.

Under this regime we are headed back to joining south florida in the nobody cares grouping of college sports.
The longshot dream of making the final cut for the semi-pro college league may have already slipped away.
Thanks Tik Tok and Gus.

Week 13 games...

MACtion....It's a tight race at the top for four teams. If Ohio (Parker Navarro) beats Ball State on Black Friday they are a lock for the MAC title game. If they lose, then chaos could ensue as there is a chance four teams finish 6-2 but all 4 teams have not played each other. Ohio lost to Miami (OH) but beats Buffalo. Bowling Green vs Miami (OH) next week probably becomes an elimination game. If Miami (OH) wins they are in. Buffalo is still in the mix if Bowling Green beats Miami (OH) but losses to Ball State this weekend. Assuming Ohio wins, I don't know how the tiebreaker works because that would mean Bowling Green, Miami (OH), and Buffalo would all be 6-2 in conference play but Buffalo would not have played either Miami (OH) or Bowing Green.

AAC: Tulane and Army are already a lock for the AAC title game.

ACC: If SMU wins out they are in the ACC title game but they have two games left. Clemson is done with ACC play and is 7-1 (Loss to Loserville). Miami and Clemson did not play. SMU did not play Miami or Clemson. If SMU loses a game they could still end up out of it because I think it would come down to rankings since Miami, Clemson and SMU would have not played each other. If this was the case I'm 100% certain the CFP would f_ck over SMU and make sure Clemson ends up higher than SMU in the rankings, even though there would really be no reason to do so (Clemson does have a quality loss to Georgia but I mean it wasn't even close...they got smoked 34-3). Assuming SMU wins out, If Miami and Clemson win out I guess Miami gets the nod because they are ranked higher?

BIg12: Elimination game for Az State as they have to beat BYU this weekend. I'm still not sold on Colorado. They definitely have the firepower to win any game but they didn't play BYU, AZ State or Iowa State. They ended up with a friendly schedule (including 5 home games instead of 4). They play @Kansas this weekend and Kansas has won two conference road games in a row (against K State and BYU). Iowa State still in the mix as well (didn't play Colorado, BYU or Az State).

Big 10: Oregon is 8-0 with a final game against Washington so there is still some drama if they somehow lost and Indiana loses a close game to Ohio State. It would come down to the CFI Committee so you know they'd f_ck over Indiana. What if Oregon got curb-stomped but Indiana lost by just a point or 2? Indiana vs Ohio State has a lot on the line this weekend. Elimination game.

CUSA: Still a lot of ball left here as the top 4 teams all have two conference games left.

Mountain West: This conference is RETARDED!!! Am I crazy??? It looks like Boise State is playing 8 conference games but Colorado State and UNLV are only playing 7 because of their agreement with Washington State/Oregon State? In all likelihood BYU is in and so is Colorado State. Colorado State did not play Boise or UNLV. UNLV's only loss is a close loss to Boise St. UNLV would be on the outside looking in. Some weird scenarios: BYU finishes 7-1 and both Colorado State and UNLV finish 6-1. What of Boise implodes and finishes 6-2 but both UNLV and Colorado St finish 6-1???

SEC: A lot of football left. Georgia is the only team done with conference pay at 6-2. Then there are potentially 4 other teams vying for the other spot if both Texas and Texas A&M get another loss, and they play each other after Thanksgiving so that is an elimination game.

Sun Belt: Logjam in both divisions still with 3-4 teams still vying for the division titles.

A real banger last night. Georgia Tech relinquishes the lead but then scores with 18 seconds left to go ahead 30-29 but gives up a big pass play to allow NC State to try a 58 yd FG but it failed.
