Wild Card Weekend: Dolphins vs Bills

So I promised my son if the Dolphins made the playoffs I would take him to the game. So we are heading to Buffalo this weekend. Any recommendations while we are there places food fun?

We are going to see Niagara Falls, and want to go to the original Buffalo wings place. Obviously the game. Looking to make a nice time away, just the boys.

OT: ATV Owners - Brands and Recommendations

I’m looking at buying a new or used ATV to replace my old 2007 Suzuki 500. Any thoughts on brands and your experiences would be appreciated. It’s going to be used on my 180 acre hunting tract in Georgia. We already have a Honda Pioneer 700 side by side we use, but I really like the 4 Wheel ATV when it’s just me tooling around the property doing work. I’ve got a dump trailer to pull behind it for tools, deer, etc. Thanks.

A few thoughts considering all the debate

1) Gus will build a locker room with his recruits who are vested in this program. NIL is a new challenge, but Gus has a good track record with reputation.

2) Part of that reputation is keeping your word which he did with both quarterbacks. There is equity he builds in operating that way. I agree with him that no player should lose their starting position due to injury. Players will trust you for that. We saw the opposite handling of the USF qb room. That said, sometimes there are short term pains from these decisions.

3) I see people punishing Gus for the loses in championship games and comparing to regular seasons. Kind of dumb math if you ask me and having a severely limited QB for the championship game was a huge factor. Everyone knows the plan was to have MK as backup for CCG and Cotton bowl. With a healthy JRP, as much as some people seem to hate him (sad), we probably win the CCG. How would people feel had we won the CCG? Do you think our QB situation was a major issue?

4) We dropped some games we shouldn’t. We also beat two top 25 teams and made the CCG. Losing the games we did is an issue. Let’s remember though that both Louisville and Navy were 7 point games and we had several opportunities to win and PLAYERS failed to EXECUTE. How many points did refs take off the board that day vs Louisville? There is nothing wrong with criticizing, but let’s not forget both Frost and Heupel lost to teams they “shouldn’t have”. Tulsa comes to mind. This isn’t a new problem people make it out to be.

5) Our lockeroom was not “great” when Gus took over. Some people still will not list out all the “impact players” that were left. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great. Look down our roster and you don’t see a group of senior leaders or a big contingent of Heupel recruits. As much as people don’t want to accept this it has played a factor. I personally am excited to see the players Gus is recruiting start to work their way into rotation.

6) There are several games to look at Gus where we performed very well and the offense looked great over the last two years. Statistically if I had to guess we took a step backwards offensively, but forward defensively even with a questionable back 7.

Is Gus a great coach? Remains to be seen. Could do a lot worse than two 9 win seasons.
I expect a struggle next year. It would be great to get a franchise QB. Personally I think we will know a lot by year 2 in big 12. I think you have to be careful to be continuously unhappy and expecting perfection. It’s the kind of poison pill that has you end up like Florida. In the end, having GOL build our program worked. We are in the Big 12 fellas. I do believe Gus is a program builder. He is a household name that has coached at the highest level of college football and made Auburn a contender again in the SEC west. As a bottom to mid tier P5 program we could do a lot worse and I think Gus will elevate this program.

Finally, I for one won’t be playing into these Heupel debates any more. I care more about how he left our program than how he is succeeding somewhere else. Plus, it’s not as if we can have him coach UCF. The constant comparisons of how he is doing somewhere else with a complete different set of circumstances are not constructive IMO. He had his time here and left. Same with Frost. Time to move forward and on from people that treated this place as a stepping stone.

Transfer name to Watch

DE Jordan Domineck transferred from Georgia Tech to Arkansas last year, but also visited UCF. Now he's leaving Arkansas as a graduate transfer.

I interviewed him last February:
