Bill Connelly - CFB Week 9: Playoff chances, conference races, Heisman watch

American

Conference odds: Cincinnati 49%, UCF 27%, Tulane 22%, Houston 9%, East Carolina 5%, SMU 2%

Biggest remaining games: Houston at SMU (Nov. 5), ECU at Cincinnati (Nov. 11), UCF at Tulane (Nov. 12), SMU at Tulane (Nov. 17), Houston at ECU (Nov. 19), Tulane at Cincinnati (Nov. 26)

Despite Saturday's exciting loss to UCF, Cincinnati remains the overall favorite, thanks in part to the fact that three of the Bearcats' final four regular-season AAC games are at home. Tulane has two big games at home, too, and they're made even bigger by the end-of-season trip to Cincinnati. Meanwhile, the other primary favorite, UCF, has played its worst and best games of the year in the last two weeks. The Knights could either catch fire or fall apart; neither would be a complete surprise. (The former is more likely than the latter, however.)

RG3 Hyping Spirit Splash on Sports Talk Radio

In Washington D.C., the top-rated sports talk morning show are the Sports Junkies. They have been tops in that market for many years, and about 99% of their content year-round is Redskins/WFT/Commanders.

Every Monday @ 8 AM they feature RG3 to talk DC pro football, but today he first had to tell his story about Spirit Splash. He laughed about his face plant and cited it as proof that he does in fact know how to slide. He also said he lives in Orlando and our game was a home game for him, which I did not know.

I always enjoy hearing UCF in the discussion outside of FL, and like many others who posted here, I find RG3 to be an entertaining new voice in college football broadcasting.

“Whether it has become a rivalry because they were the champs and then we ended up knocking them off a couple of years ago, all rivalries are created differently,” said Fickell. “As everything moves forward, I think you are going to see that this (rivalry) is going to stay.”

Personally, I think we have too many people that are negative and unsupportive. Look around… look at what we’ve done, what we have and what we were about to accomplish. We got into the MAC, did enough. Got into cusa, dominated. Got into what should have been the BigEast dominated that one year and beat Baylor. It turned into the AMERICAN, We dominated and still are. About to be in the Big 12, we will continue our pattern… we have too many folks that are negative. That always think there’s a better coach, a better qb, a better whatever. Many programs are drooling for what we have. We can be better as fanbase!

stop leaving early

Stop complaining about a coach that’s great

Stop thinking football is easy and Understand what our players and coaches put themselves through all year long

root hard, boo less and know sometimes running on 3rd and 17 from our own 5 just so we can give our punter space is the right thing to do….

Auburn media has it's fangs out...

⚔️ Happy Halloween! 🎃

What an incredible weekend. Feel like this month flew by and we’re already here on October 31st, ranked and playing meaningful football into November!

I’m most excited to take my nephew/niece trick-o-treating tonight but I’m looking back on some fond memories of Halloweens past.

What was your best costume ever? Mine was when I went as a Chilean miner from the 2010 Copiapó mining accident. Absolute banger. Still chasing that high to this day.

Honorable Mention was my “Occupy Wall Street” protester costume that would probably most definitely be problematic today.

What were some of your best?!

Happy Halloween and Be Safe! #GKCO
