Fire him… NOW

Terry this is ridiculous. He is a ****ing asshole. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

I’m not going to the Utah game. This is the first home game I will have missed in over 5 years. I’m more mad right now than I am when 2015 happened.

**** the money. You WILL lose more if you don’t change something. I’m done with it. You have lost the fans. You have lost credibility over the country. You have lost the perception of this program beyond belief.

This is pathetic and I am calling for his firing now. I will NOT continue to stand by while I watch this once vibrant and upward trending program be dragged through shit filled mud.

Its over. HES lost the recruits, he’s lost the fanbase and he’s lost national respect. Do it for the sake of your legacy and for the sake of this program we love so dearly. I’m embarrassed for my alma mater to be lead by this absolute ****ing scaredy cat Be better.

I consider myself one of the cooler heads in here too. You have to do a lot to piss me off

So did Gus take control of playcalling after half?

I admit I was wrong about Harris. Dude actually has me excited to watch this team again. A real methodical offense with some unique looks. Hell, we run honest to god rpos now. For only being two games into his tenure as playcaller it’s great to see. I even get what he was trying to do at the end of half. Yeah it backfired, but you try shit that doesn’t work and adapt.

That’s why I am confused about the wild cat. We’ve seen Tim evolve the formation with Jacurri because he can throw it 5-8 yards, unlike gatewood, which will keep defense honest. But shoving a rb into the wild cat is Gus 100%. We’ve seen it over and over again.

So did this old egomaniac take over playcalling again? Over rule Tim? Can someone actually ask who called those two atrocities plays?

So many WTF games under Gus

Insane how many close games we’ve had as the better team - most of them being losses

2021

Boise - outgained them by 290 yards! And nearly lost
Louisville
Navy
usf

2022

Louisville
ECU
Navy
usf

2023

Boise - outgained them by 150 yards! And needed a walkoff FG
Baylor
Oklahoma
Texas Tech
GT

2024

Colorado
Florida
Cincinnati
Iowa State
Arizona State

I’ve walked away from just about all these games saying what the fück did I just watch.

Real Quarterback

Got home from our debacle in time to watch Oregon-Ohio State. Admit I was envious watching Dillon Gabriel throwing the
football for over 300 yards against a top 5 team. He even managed to run for a 20+ yard TD. Watching him spin the ball
got me wondering what it would be like if only we had a QB that could consistently and accurately pass the ball and run when
needed rather than this 1990’s run oriented offense of Malzahn’s. O’Learys teams were boring but at least he won multiple conference
championships. Anyway, it was a nice respite watching a real QB display his skills vs the hot garbage we have endured during Gus’
tenure.

The Athletic: Meet Armando Villarreal, the man behind college football’s coolest helmets

Well, for those that need a distraction, thought this was a great story ... and quite UCF related. Paywall, and I won't post the full article, but I'll quote some portions, especially about UCF.

Meet Armando Villarreal, the man behind college football’s coolest helmets

QUOTE: _'... call from Brad Haley, business manager of Schutt Sports ... conversation ... six years ago, altered both the trajectory of Villarreal’s life and his artistic career ... If that call goes to voicemail and Villarreal forgets about it, he likely never leaves his municipal job working for Imperial — a tiny city with a population of less than 2,000 in rural southwest Nebraska ... he did pick up and listened to Haley’s unusual pitch: to airbrush a specialty helmet for Mississippi State in honor of alum Sonny Montgomery, a World War II veteran and former Mississippi state politician. Villarreal and Haley first met at a retail summit in Las Vegas years earlier, when Villarreal was working for a California-based art production company contracted by professional teams and leagues ... Villarreal has done individually airbrushed helmets for 12 programs since 2018, including Utah, UCF, Maryland, BYU, Michigan and Tennessee. A former member of the U.S. Army Reserve who was deployed both to Kosovo and Iraq in the early 2000s, Villarreal did his best to balance his city job with airbrushing hundreds of helmets each year — until 2022 when the demand for his artistry became overwhelming ... various programs will reach out to Schutt Sports, which then contacts Villarreal ... Schutt handles the orders ... many helmets are needed ... eventually shipped to Villareal’s home in Imperial ... “I just have to make sure it looks good on TV,” he said ... Schools will have their own graphic designers send mock-ups to Villarreal. The tricky part is wrapping an image around the entirety of the helmet. Some ideas are simple and easier to apply, such as UCF’s moon design honoring the university’s historical ties to the U.S. space program, or Tennessee’s helmet honoring the Smoky Mountains ... one project so intimidating that he initially turned it down multiple times ... paint helmets commemorating the passing of Utah players Ty Jordan in 2020 and Aaron Lowe in 2021 ... “I think I told them four times I couldn’t do it ,,, Cody just kept on me and kept on me. Finally, I said we’ll do it. That was the year I quit my day job because it was so much. It was about six hours per helmet” ...'

Cam Newton

My theory is that Gus doesn’t want to go down as a one hit wonder with Cam. He’s constantly scouring the portal trying to find that elite run first, serviceable passer, so he can seal the legacy that he has done this twice. Gus has had some really good QBs that slipped through his fingers and are starting at other programs. Meanwhile, we had all the pieces in place to have a great year if we just went with the only guy who can throw a pass in Rizk.

Gus is like the compulsive gambler trying to win it all back to prove to his family he’s not a loser. Complete lack of accountability for his actions.

I wouldn’t have cared if we had a shit team, but we had a real shot at winning the Big 12 with a competent passing game. Wouldn’t be surprised if we win out from here. Gus will be celebrated by some for turning it around, but in reality, we are winning despite his coaching and decision making.

Critical Tool to Dealing with the New Age of UCF Football ... from the Days of Old

I learned growing up with UCF Football in II, I-AA and early I-A. Over that time, with McDowell, and then Coach K even more so, and definitely GOL during his even number years of the '00s ... there was one thing that always helped me through the game, and the aftermath.

And that one, crucial tool that I put into my football toolbelt this season, especially during the TCU game was this ...

Despair

Yes, it's been absent a long time ... only in 2015 through much of 2016, especially the bowl game, and then BYU at the end of 2020 too. But yes, it's how I made it through UCF football as a fan since '88, and definitely hardcore in the '90s, going to away games, being in big stadiums, and ... blowing it big time in the 4th quarter.

It helped me through our first game at ASU too, when we had 3 O-linemen go down, with Schneider too, and our backup QB played 'catch' with the rushing defenders as he was backpedaling as quickly as he could towards our own endzone, just before the half.

It's how I looked at the '00s, both Coach K and his insanity that made Frost's constant 2 point conversions seem like smart moves in comparison. And GOL using game time as practice ... run it until it works, even after 11 failures.

Despair

It's the tool that has been missing in your UCF expectations, one that helps with all our Power conference aspirations, as they disappear, and you still cling to hope, when ... you should just assume we're going to find a way to blow it, whether it's 12 minutes before the end of the game, or 2 minutes left in the first half with a double-digit lead.

When you just embrace despair, every TD becomes a miracle, every win becomes a shock, and you literally have to have some slap you to make sure you're not dreaming.

Hitt. GREATEST UCF rep. of all time

Well at least of 'modern' UCF time. I doubt he would have accepted this mediocrity. BUT HEY, at least that idiot Auburn fan is happy we hired some loser DC that did something a decade ago.

Sorry Dr Hitt, we're ruining what you struggled to build into a giant. You got us the Big XII, and a giant university, and we're ruining the athletics.
