Miami Central wide receiver Lamar Seymore was among the star-studded group of official visitors for UCF's marquee recruiting event, Bounce House Weekend.

Seymore has been a long-time University of Miami commitment, but has been keeping an open mind to other schools. He's always been intrigued by UCF.

"It was amazing," Seymore said of the visit. "I liked it a lot. My favorite part was probably hanging with the coaches and football players."

His player host was wide receiver Amari Johnson, who is also from Miami.

"I know him well," Seymore said. "He played at Carol City. He was basically just telling me how they operate, stuff like that. How they schedule things."

He enjoyed spending time with wide receivers coach Grant Heard. He's a new addition to UCF's staff this year, but Seymore actually had a pre-existing relationship with him.

"I knew him when he was at Indiana," Seymore said of Heard. "He used to come to my school and talk to me all the time. He offered me up there too. He was talking about how he needs me at UCF now. We just went over film actually. He said when I first come in he's gonna have me at a certain position, then when we get it rolling he's gonna move me around."

The weekend included a variety of games and competitions, including dodgeball, cake and watermelon eating contests and karaoke.

"I enjoyed the competition part," Seymore said. "You can tell they're competitive. That's what I like about (UCF). They compete to win."

How did his team perform?

"We won some games, but came in third overall," Seymore said. "It was good though."

What stands out about UCF?

"I like that it isn't too far from home," Seymore said. "They're competitive. The atmosphere is really good. The Bounce House is really good. I'd love to play in that atmosphere."

If he were to come to Orlando, he would be part of UCF's inaugural Big 12 team in 2023.

"They're trying to do big things," Seymore said. "That's what I like. They're going into a bigger conference and playing bigger people. They're trying to show they're one of the top programs too."

Seymore wasn't sure about his recruiting plans for the rest of the month, though he believes he'll be taking an official visit to Pitt on June 16.

OT: Miami recruiting website drama (?)

near as I can figure Miami fans got super triggered because a commit’s composite ranking seemingly dropped and a bunch of fans unsubscribed from their premium service as a result. Have to click through and see replies

again from what I can tell the kids ranking didn’t even drop. The poor dude just keeps trying to explain how averages work lmao

what conference wouldn’t want this group of loyal, stable geniuses?

(That one UM Stan who posts here can maybe explain what happened better, I just like stirring the pot)

OT: Fears of shooting cause panic at Orlando's Lake Eola Fireworks Show (new title)

I don't know if i'm just getting older or I'm over these overcorrections or lack of perspective, but why do government bodies, brands, and people want to inject their .02 in forums that don't warrant it? Pronouns on Linkedin. White knights/virtue signaling on social media. Hot takes on everything without being asked. This country is not ideal, but the goal is to strive for a more perfect union and work toward a higher ideal. Heard someone in Publix today say "Fuvk the 4th." Made me sad. We have A LOT of work to do. Still the best place to win the lotto of being born in. With hard work, faith and perseverance you can be great.

God Bless America.

Not a cisgender Latinx he/him.

Just an American.

KZ Quarterback Camp (Mikey Keene and DJ Mack)

My son went to QB workouts this morning with KZ. Huge bonus having Mikey Keene and DJ Mack helping out as well. 20 participants, but GREAT instruction. 2 hour workout only $50! My son is also attending a 5 person workout with KZ at UCF later this week that focuses on High School/College players only. That is just $125. If you have an aspiring QB, don’t hesitate to attend one of his camps. They are a great value.

Matt Murschal was there from the Sentinel doing a story on the next phase of KZ’s career/life. Focusing on his involvement in getting NIL opportunities for UCF athletes as well as balancing work with his new family life. Should be good.

I had to promise my son on the way to the workout I wouldn’t fanboy out and embarrass him too much. But when I saw Mikey and DJ were there also, I told him all bets were off! 🤣

Working out in the Dome and orientation at Wild Pizza

Just listened to The Sons Podcast. Which I enjoy BTW.
They had no clue about The Dome and Wild Pizza. What other throwbacks from the old days?

Auburn fan in first class...

Took the family out to California this past week to do some fun stuff around the state. On the way back we are boarding our flight when in first class I spot a elderly couple both wearing Auburn logo gear. They looked like old money and you could see both were staring at me. You could tell they were more specifically looking at our UCF gear we were both wearing. As the line is backing up I had a less than a minute to talk so I could not help myself and said "you know where are very happy with Coach Malzan" and my wife says "He is doing a great job". He looks up at me and grabs my arm in a very nice way and says "you should be happy with him, I was too and I will never again speak to the guys who got him fired" If I had to put some money down I would bet he was a big money booster.
