The poster above was referring to the "Republican machine". Well, that "Republican machine" was desperately trying to defeat Trump in the Primaries. Virtually no one inside the party itself wanted anything to do with him, but he ran an absolute guerilla grassroots campaign that broke every convention and norm, at a time when voters were desperately tired of being thrown another Jeb Bush.
I would say THAT is the difference though between Republicans and Democrats. The R field had at one point 10 people on stage, giving Trump a platform to hammer his opponents and let voters make their own minds.
The D's on the other hand completely sheltered HRC from the beginning and sabotaged ANY attempt for anyone else to even get in the race. We know that Sanders was sabotaged and even OMalley had criticism for even daring to take on HRC. The DNC wanted to assure that their horrid candidate was assured a win and they got it.
