Bill Nye the "sex junk" guy

China is centralized/controlled to not care about pollution. They could become the greenest in the world but they choose not to because it would sink their economy due to the resulting increase in production cost.

In a Market economy, corporations will do whatever they can to reduce production costs, even going to the bare minimum of environmental regulation. If environmental regulation didn't exist, the result is the cheapest method of production being used which has the highest impact on the environment.

Same result due to the same reason, competitiveness and ultimately profit. Both have the ability to go green in an instant but can't since it would be a death wish. The only real way is for a multilateral agreement where the bar is raised across the board.

Yawn.

You don't want to end up like China do you? A 100% free market is how you end up like China.

Yeap, that is definitely not a comparison between a free market and China. Keep the insults rolling though, it is a sign of great intelligence.

So now you result to lying to prove your point. You are truly pathetic trailer trash.

You're ignoring the consumer. They're the driver in a free market. In China consumers don't have a choice, they have no control. In a free market when people can't breath and can't drink their water they're going to stop supporting the companies that caused the problems. Companies know this as well, they're not going to trash the environment to make an extra buck in the short term only to be locked out in the future. Look no further than fracking, oil pipe lines, etc in the US. Without government interference and lobbyists I doubt fracking is around. People wouldn't support it. There is always a faster, cleaner, better way to do something and in a free market people are allowed to pursue those.

Lol, the Chemmie is strong with you. You're proven wrong so you just start screaming, name calling and throw a temper tantrum.

Well I've given up on using logic, since it doesn't matter how many times I can prove you wrong when you just straight up lie. You literally added words to my quote that I never said. That's how desperate you are. Go back to page 2 where I posted my original quote, you will see it has not been edited. This is how delusional you trump supporters are.

Oh, the irony. Rivers in this country used to catch on fire due to over pollution from industry. The consumers didn't stop them, government did. Many pesticide companies and citrus/sugar growers were killing fish (including killing Lake Apopka), but consumers didn't stop them, government did. Government didn't induce fracking, the industry did, and it's not good for groundwater, but it carries on because the industry money keeps the lobbyists engaged in preventing the government from stopping it.

Have you ever been to China? Do you know anything about China, other than their flag is red?

Bob, people resort to name calling with you because you really are that dumb. There is no point in trying to teach somebody with no knowledge, who doesn't want to gain any knowledge. You are the issue, not the people calling you names. You really are that stupid.

I quoted your exact post. I did not edit it. I'll quote it again below. Can you highlight the words I added to the quote?

Do you want to end up like China? Because that is how you end up like China.

The free market is great for a lot of things, but unregulated energy production is not one of them, unless you enjoy chewing your air before breathing it.

The government has had as much to gain from these practices as the businesses, that is not a 100% free market. The government propped up these companies that had money, lawyers and lobbyists protecting them, that is not a 100% free market. Business used to essentially have indentured servants with the blessing of the government, that is not a 100% free market. A 100% free market has never existed and never will.

???? Government had to gain from stopping/reversing environmental destruction? What???

My point was that regulations aside, these companies destroyed the environment and only stopped when sued by the government. They didn't get sued by consumers. They didn't get sued by locals. They got sued by the EPA.

A 100% free market did not need to exist for these conditions to occur. They still happened, but they fostered regulations that kept it from happening on a wider scale.

It's the same with contracting. Contractors have regulations put on them because shitty contractors did shitty work and/or defrauded customers. Without regulations, shitty contractors would be free to undercut legitimate contractors. But 99% of those regulations didn't happen because of foresight - they were generated because of a reaction to something someone did wrong from the free market.

The government gained just as much as business did in allowing those practices to continue, they gained by allowing businesses to pollute. They were getting their pockets lined by lobbyists and businessmen. There has never been a 100% free market. A government somewhere has always had influence over the practices. You can't argue against 100% free market using examples of what exists today or what existed in the past. There was always some type of influence (negative and positive) from a governing body.

Wow, you are actually dumber than I thought. You do know there is a quote feature, and I just quoted you saying there is too much regulation on a market, and if china had less regulation they'd be cleaner. You actually think that regulation is why china is the world's ashtray.

I think I should probably stop making you look foolish at this point, because you look like one of those people that could snap and hunt me down or something.

Jesus Christ you are a flaming imbecile.

Chinese state planned economies is NOT regulation. You don't grasp that.

A government office stating that all factories must test water supplies = regulation
A Chinese Regime mandating that cities will be built as fast as possible = Communism

Please return to fapping over Nye TV shows and stop embossing youself.

Are you actually retarded, or still just using that technique? I've already said in this exact thread that I don't like his recent show, it is not funny. But we have already established the fact that you and Bob have zero reading comprehension skills. So obviously asking you to differentiate between economic regulations and environmental regulations is far beyond your mental capacity.

Please don't murder me for making you look ridiculous again.

No man, just give it another try. The market will regulate itself this time.

We've settle on Ninja being an idiot who is desperate to have everyone claim that he is super smart.

It was already painfully obvious to everyone that you had lost the logical argument, no reason to throw in the towel by posting something this pathetic.
