BOWL GAMES CHAT

Very bad for North Carolina. They were expected to do big things this year, and crapped the bed. South Carolina beating them is a bad omen as well. South Carolina had six wins prior to the bowl game: Eastern Illinois, @ECU (won 20-17), Troy, Vandy, UF, and Auburn. 5-2 at home. 1-4 on the road.

Heupel is going to ride Hooker as long as he can. Hooker saved his first year at Tennessee.

Most points ever at Tennessee. Game looks well attended. Since he got to pick his own DC he will make them contenders soon.

I think I'll just pull for a fun and interesting game to watch. Yes, would like to see the SEC get another loss, but have zero affiliation with Purdue. I'm not so offended with Heupel and Danny White leaving us now that we have seemed to land on our feet okay and possibly better. Time will tell though. I love college football and my Mom lives in Knoxville. I've been to a couple games there but am no way a Vol fan. I think experiencing it and being up there to visit and it has turned me more anti-Vols. But, It's college football and Purdue is pretty good this year. Hoping for great game and overall it's just an excuse to day drink today and watch a game! :p Cheers!
Agree, now that it feels like our program is moving forward again (not stagnant), then I don’t begrudge DW and JH as much as when they left in the middle of the offseason

This will be interesting Purdue just took the lead before the half. Who believes Heupel will make any half time adjustments?

Well that is irritating both teams were running substitutions on the field and the officials reset the play clock before it went to zero. UCF was penalized this year while the play clock went to zero with the officials blocking the snap.

I don't care one way or the other about Heuple . However, I loathe the SEC and their arrogant fans . So, I hope Tennessee loses big time . If Heuple was coaching Purdue I would be cheering for him, he's not so I am not cheering for him.

Isn’t losing or winning in a competitive shootout better than not moving ball and hoping the defense bails us out?

Interesting to see that the Heupel salt train is still going strong..sigh

Pretty baffling play calling and time out usage on this last drive by Tennessee.
Super strange, they get the ball at their own 40 with plenty off time to get in good field goal position. Then a weird mix of run plays and oddly tinted timeouts and settle for a 56 yard field goal (missed).

I DO NOT miss Heupels second half coaching. Way to many UCF games slipped away in the second half. Another loss for the SEC
Me either. This was your typical Heupel gimmick offense, no defense, high scoring, high yardage lose by one score game we all know too well. Fun to watch? Sure, just glad I can watch it play out in a game I don’t care about, just simply for entertainment.

Pitt game is not the same without Pickett.
The Wisconsin games starts at 10:30 pm. I assume that one will be over around 1:30.

Tennessee got jobbed. If I was Heupel, I would have gotten 15 yards for unsportsmanlike mouth. I would have dropped a tirade of f-bombs and expletives at whoever blew the play dead.

Big playoff games later today. Sadly after the games today I fear we will be stuck with a rematch of Georgia and Alabama. That should never happen in the playoffs. If it does I hope their ratings tank.

Especially since it was pretty much a home game for Tennessee.
And Purdue was playing without a number of starters including their best (by far) DL and WR. Both possibly 1st Round draft picks in Apr. Just goes to show how important a really good QB and an offensive scheme that is perfect for him is to a college program. You still can win when you score enough points.
