Can someone please explain what happened to Darin Hinshaw?

I would like to give Darin Hinshaw the benefit of the doubt, however I cannot do that. For the entire season, the Knights played undisciplined football. Didn't UCF average 9 penalties each game? Poor coaching by the entire staff .
I don’t know, he hand picked the only qb on the team worth a damn this season
He was demoted to quarterback coach. Given a 300 lb fullback to work with no arm. I’m no so sure he was given any input as Gus ran the O n picked the qb Hard to tell anything of his input I know Rizk thanked him in an interview whatever that means.
What happened? He was exposed as a poor QB coach.
Was he ? His past doesn’t show a great deal as an offensive coordinator, but I don’t think he was given any authority under Gus. Gus was forced to hire an offensive coordinator, and hired Hinshaw, who he ultimately downgraded mid season I don’t know if he’s any good or not, but I don’t think he was given a chance here
Interesting that his guy…ended the season as the starter…..Hinshaw needs to stay on staff….Gus was threatened by him as soon as he joined the staff…
The new HC will pick his guys and he’s probably going to clean house…for sure the new head coach will bring an OC and typically the OC also coaches the quarterbacks.
Yes he was.....not a SINGLE QB in the room showed any improvement (this goes back to all the pre-season hype last year on Plumlee where he had improved so much he was going to shock the world....LOL), Jefferson and Brown regressed, Colson was unprepared to play, Rizk at least had one good game but showed little else, and Trujillo ended up on the back of a milk carton.
When you have a HC recruiting his own brand of QB that prioritizes speed over any actual QB skills how can you blame the QB coach?
Amazes me some of you still don't see all the issues Malzahn dumped on this organization.
Tim Harris very well could be the exception. He may be the new head coach. If that happens, we’re doomed for another three years. He’s not qualified to be a head coach.
I don’t know if Hinshaw is good or not. But the qb development and control is on Gus and his hs scheme. Again I’m not defending Hinshaw, nor think he will be here after the new hire, but he didn’t get the chance to lay his fingerprints on the O for good or bad.
I believe there was friction between Hinshaw and Malzahn about how to run the offense. I don't believe that Darin was happy with the way Malzahn was running the offense.
He had 3 awful talentless QB's and 1 guy that has some talent. He seemed ok with the 1 guy that has some talent.
He worked with the guy for 2 seasons and he still had horrible fundamentals......go check his stats for the last 2 games.
Feel confident if we hire an offensive HC, he won't be retained.
Ohh he's not perfect. But look at the garbage he really had to work with. JRP will go down as one of the worst starting QB's (that started multiple games not due to injury) the Big 12 has ever seen.
ummm...I know about 3 worse ones right off the bat.
