Coaching Carousel has started

Any form of option football is advantageous. Whether its what GT and Navy have been doing, or what Frost and Kelly do, it puts a lot of stress on the defense.

BYU would benefit from the option by hiring coach Ken from Navy. They send their kids on missions which allows time for them to develop physically. Also with their following, they could teach option football to nearly every school in the mountain time zone giving them a pipeline of kids that understand its fundamentals. Think old school Nebraska but on a large scale.

I agree as well, it's a boring offense, but it works. Now if you had that setup but had a QB that could throw and WRs that could catch you could eliminate the clock eating portion of the offense and be able to strike quickly if needed.

Totally Agree. Coach Ken was heading to Arizona but got derailed by Khalil Tate's tweet that he didn't want to play option football. Now it's being reported that Khalil has talked to coach Kevin Sumlin about transferring out. Arizona should have stuck with coach Ken. Sumlin took a 7-6 Arizonza bowl team to a 5-7 no bowl season. Granted coach Ken had a off year but still had the 3rd ranked rushing offense nationally. Not much defense due to youth from graduations. Hope he stays at Navy. Like having him in the AAC. Now if we can only get Army....

Speaking of ECU I wonder how long former coach Ruffin McNeill is going to last as Oklahoma's defensive coordinator. The defense for Oklahoma is really porous and almost cost them several games. :sunglasses:

McNeill is just a temp replacing fired DC Mike Stoops. He'll probably return to position coach next season. Unless he gets the job, which isn't looking good based on the last four games.

ECU was a tough out when Lincoln Riley was OC. The 2014 Hail Perriman game for the AAC Championship is in my Top 5. Hopefully a new hire can get them back to help UCF's SOS. They need to hire the whole North Texas staff.

I'd rather have 2 Programs be complete dumpsterfires in UCF's division. The critics will never give UCF full credit while in the AAC anyway so might as well have an easier path

There's bound to be two or more every year. Just might not be the same ones for different reasons. UCF had their turn in 2015.

That sucks. Was hoping they were hiring someone crappy
going to be hard to hold onto good young coaches while in the AAC. UCF 'might' be the exception in certain cases but I'm not counting on it. If Heup keeps this up UCF could hold off a Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, Iowa State, Texas Tech, etc but if Oklahoma calls....
