Fauci now admits what the rest of us knew

Why does it take him a year to catch up with the rest of us? The virus came from a lab, duh!
Idk why hemightbejeremy is thumbs downing this. TDS most likely... Trump suggested it had possibly come from the Wuhan Lab of Virology and the media started attacking the idea immediately. Now it’s pretty obviously a valid theory (as it was at the time, and not something Trump decided or figured out on his own) and they can start admitting it.

Agreed. It doesn't have to be some nefarious conspiracy theory to say that the virus probably came out of a lab. It's a bigger reach to say that a bat from 900 km away infected a pangolin that was bought in a wet market when a few blocks away there is a lab trying to produce this exact kind of thing.

The bigger question is why it was developed in a lab? For what purpose?

I thumbs downed the notion that everyone knew it came from a lab all along. If Crazy had some research that suggested this, he should have submitted it to the CDC. Sure people had al kinds of theories early on. Even today nothing is proven. You sir have a reverse TDS syndrome as even when his name is not mentioned you must proactively caress his nuts.

They are trying to get ahead of the game. Modify a virus in a way that you may think could happen naturally so that you can produce a cure before that occurs. It's not a bad thing, but its dangerous. Trump went too far in his rhetoric and it made people think this was a biological weapon, now it's hard to let the facts overcome the lies.

Both Israel and Taiwan produced evidence very early on that this was a result of Chinese gain-of-function testing. One doctor even relayed how similar the Wuhan strain was to coronaviruses that he’d worked on in that very lab. Taiwan, as well, has been continuously resolute. The information has always been there, it’s just that the information didn’t meet the goal of swaying the 2020 Presidential election so anyone publicly agreeing with Taiwan and Israel was gaslit or canceled.

A doctor relayed it was similar to a coronavirus he’d worked on? Golly gee. I guess that means everyone already knew China made it in a lab. My mistake for even suggesting something to the contrary. Must be that pesky TDS again. Cant get it off the brain.

And it was a great excuse to shutdown states to worsen the US job market. They knew anything outdoors was safe from the beginning and to come out almost a year and a half later and admit there is little risk outdoors with covid is a slap in the face. There was a media goal of fear porn and it clearly worked. We have fully vaccinated folks that continue to wear a mask. The covid fear syndrome is real.
What’s the goal for the fear porn now? To sway the next set of elections? Did bill gates release the virus from the lab because he’s buddies with Biden? What swung the election was democrats running a braindead, but less awful candidate than they did in 2016. A year with the 2 most unpopular presidential candidates in history. And the victory was resounding. People who were going to vote for trump weren’t changing their mind to Biden because places shut down for a month 6 months before the election.

Your lord fauci thinks it was Chinese lab created the virus. Funny China was getting hit with sanctions and magically a convenient virus comes out of their area. The virus starts in China and infects less than 100k. Meanwhile they allow flights all over the place. ✈
You are the ones obsessed with Fauci. I couldn’t care less what he has to say in an interview at this point.

It seems like an awful lot of "conspiracy theories" have turned out to be correct. Let's hope that the theories about the vaccine aren't true, otherwise we are going to have 200 million people that have a major problem on their hands.

What's really scary is that Biden and Fauci will just end of retconning this whole thing and millions will buy it.

Only an idiot ever believed there was no chance it got out of the lab. I would argue odds were better it did than it did not.

It's a scary thought now the government probably knew all along it was lab created and for whatever reason tried to hide it. Have big tech censor the truth about these reports. You want to think with people losing jobs, suicide, etc it wasn't political but it clearly was a way to gain more control.
Except that the USG didn’t hide it. Or at least the President didn’t hide it. From April 30, 2020 and edited on May 1, 2020.

I've always thought the lab-accident theory is totally reasonable. The problem is, that makes it a huge target for strategic propaganda campaigns by China's adversaries. So even if there was only a tiny chance it occurred via accident, you would expect Taiwan to hold and promote that position. It's an easy position to take because it probably can't ever be disproven.

Or it wasn't even an accident. Convenient they only got 85k infections in a highly populated country with a virus that they supposedly didn't know existed for months. To let flights out over months knowing the virus was contagious in reality. We were in the middle of a trade dispute with china. They were able to shutdown our economy and get the current president removed after record low unemployment.
There’s no chance they only had 85k infections. They lied about their numbers.

Here's why that doesn't make sense. Existential threats tend to help those currently in power retain power. If you wanted Trump out of office, the last thing you wanted was a national crisis. I agree with you that COVID hurt him politically - but that was because of his own actions. Showing leadership and empathy would have helped him politically even if he made piss poor decisions along the way (see Cuomo).

As for China's success suppressing the virus - the US is down to ~600 flu deaths this year - vs like 30k in a typical year. And it's not just deaths - the positivity rate on flu tests is WAY down this year. It's clear that flu really struggled to spread with COVID mitigation in place.

If our mitigations could do that to flu, I don't see why China's authoritarian lockdowns and enforcement couldn't get far better results for COVID than we did.

Don’t try to use logic. Locking down royal blue states like New York and California was just the strategy Biden needed to flip the election. It had nothing to do with Biden being infinitely more likable than the previous candidate the democrats ran against the most unpopular president in modern history.

Eh, dude come on: China flattened the curve overnight as well as flat lined deaths. If you seriously believe that that didn't happen or that they didn't fudge everything coming out of that country data-wise, I have a freaking bridge to sell you.

I'm not saying China's data is accurate. I'm saying it's not unreasonable to believe that a true authoritarian grade lockdown China style could outperform us by a wide margin.

Actually, in the absence of any believable, concrete data from them you cannot say that.

Furthermore, all you have to do is look at the numbers in states in this country that had more severe lockdowns versus those that did not. The numbers do not show any sort of "wide margin" at all.

A lockdown as severe as you’re suggesting isn’t really possible. People have to eat, and in order to eat, food has to move around, and for that to happen fuel and energy has to be produced.

There’s just no way to completely keep people home without putting them in serious danger as well. Once they’re in danger of starving, you can’t keep them home anymore. Desperate people act out of desperation.

I seem to remember back in January of 2020 there were people reporting that they were burning piles of bodies in China.

If any country can do it, it would be China. There have been reports of them shooting quarantine-breakers in the streets.

OTOH, China assassinated doctors and journalists and imprisoned others, destroyed evidence, bars international investigators, and stifles discussion around the world. They’re going through all of this effort for a reason.

And it never came back into the country via international travel? That's kind of hard to believe.

The scary part of big tech Google, Facebook, and Twitter all censored the Wuhan lab discussion as false or completely removed it. These companies have that much control over speech that something that is now viewed as more likely than natural infection was not allowed to be openly discussed. Really a strange place where political propaganda or general propaganda is now pushed.
Among many other things, like the Dr Ericson interview where he said the CFR is comparable to the flu, that kids are at very low risk, and that shutting down the economy was a really bad idea. I think I'm justifiably nervous about what they are censoring about the vaccine.

Definitely something to be concerned about given what we know.
That same Nobel winner i cited above says we should be prepared for a massive death toll over the next 2 years from antibody dependency caused by the mRNA vaccines.

This is one of those things I made a particular point to pay attention to dating back to last March. Bret and Heather Weinstein on the DarkHorse Podcast have been adamant from Day 1 about the validity of the lab leak hypothesis and got caught in the cross-fire when trying to talk openly about it. Shits weird man.

It was TDS. Simple as that. Had Trump never said a thing about it possibly coming from the lab, it wouldn't have been controversial. I find it pretty amusing that he was fact-checked on this and they found his claim "false", and it was added to his list of lies.

Now Fauci is saying that he's pretty sure the virus came from nature again. Sheesh.
I mean in February 2020 the lab theory was considered but seen to be the least plausible theory. 15 months later Fauci makes a comment that the theory isn’t ruled out and people freak. A week later he said he still favors the more plausible theory and people freak. They are probably diverting your attention away from more important things.

I'm not suggesting anything - I'm only pointing to what actually happened. This was all widely reported on. China has the capability and culture do things in a manner far more extreme than we did. That doesn't mean they stopped eating or generating energy.

Weird that nobody that actually lives near those bats have caught this virus.

Means this entire thing started out of a lab. In November, 3 researchers got covid that worked in the facility testing/researching. Hopefully just an accident since they killed over a million people.

The media didn't allow the argument to be heard. No question on why they allowed international flights after in November knowing they had a virus without any immunity all over China.
It’s definitely a plausible theory. The least plausible of the theories, but it’s something. Glad you could bust through the media blockade to get the truth. Presumably from a non media source.

Nobody that live near “those bats” caught Covid? What is this supposed to mean?
The horseshoe bats that this supposedly came from live 700 miles away from Wuhan. They aren't sold in the wet market, but the lab just down the street does gain of function testing on them.
