I wish rivals would show a grade instead of just a star. Like on ESPN, a 79 is a 3 star, an 80 is a 4 star. If you look at it from just a star standpoint, they would seem far apart. But, they are neck and neck. Whereas a 3 star could be a 70 and a 4 star could be an 89. Huge difference. Averaging stars is just stupid. (This also goes for number of commits in ranking a class).

Couldn't have said it better myself. Rivals does use a 'grade' - it's the 5.x/6.x system they have. On the aggregate, a 5.6+ rivals guy is going to have a 'better' offer list, that probably went through at least some minimal level of verification. So if anybody is bored, tally up the rivals grades instead of stars.

Our avg star rating is diluted slightly as compared to USF due to our bigger class. If you take our top 16 to match their class size we edge them out there as well with 2.8125. After 0-12....

Ever look?

Rivals uses a slightly different point system:

5.5 is a low level 3 star....5.7 is a high level 3 star.

Here's the UCF point breakdowns for their players:

Click on "Rating" column and they will line up accordingly

Looking like we aced the new coach selection. An amazing job while having so little time.

As with every class...time will tell...but in this class, since so many will get early PT (JUCO's, plenty of freshmen), the eventually real grade of this class will be known sooner than later (compared to past classes where almost all were HS recruits who redshirted).

Obviously last year was an usual situation, when the loss of 15-19 scholarships plus a rash of injuries lead to 33 or more 1st time players (many that were Freshmen), hopefully a lot of them will show a lot of improvement from having so much experience last year...as some of the biggest improvement is seen after their first year of experience and/or their first full off-season/Spring Practice).
