During 96.9 pregame talk with Daniels, Jacurri Brown basically just said that he met Gus through his high school coach who "ran the same offense as my coach".
UCF is struggling with the move to P4 and all the fingers are being pointed at Gus. It is sad.
Self-inflicted wounds by fans hurt the most. Gus built a National Championship contending team in 2019, but negatively by fans turned away a couple of difference making prospects who could have pushed Auburn past LSU and into the SEC title game (despite the loss to Florida).
UCF is breeding the same negativity that could have an adverse impact on UCF in 2025-2026. Losing doesn't help matters. Hot seat talk and innuendo DOES compound the problem by making it harder to win a title at UCF.

I've been watching UCF football since middle school in 94. I've seen our up years and down years since we joined D1. It only hurts because the fans know we are capable of so much more. I get that we are going to regress this year but my only issues with Gus are related to him playing injured players. We had an injured JRP play in the conference championship game vs Tulane and bowl game vs Duke. Now we hear reports that Boomer quit the team so he could get medical attention and have a surgical procedure because he has been playing hurt for a long time. I'd rather let someone else get play time and lose than put a player out on the field who is injured. To me, that shows the coach is more worried about his record than player safety, which really should be the number 1 thing the coach should be worried about. I started the season out believing in Gus but as I keep hearing more and more from players saying the coaches are removing them from the team because they are injured or hurt makes me not believe in the coach. I really hope Boomer recovers and starts kicking for another team.
As far as this 5 game losing streak goes, I really hope we can turn it around. 3 of the next 4 games do look winnable.
