When you point out to me a transgendered high school girl competing against the boys at a high school track meet, a basketball game, a football game, or whatever sport you choose, THEN I'll bow and shout to the world that You Were Right!!!
So, let me get this straight...
We’re talking about transgender women (ie people born male) competing with biological girls in a girls league and why that’s problematic and there should be some protections for the girls.
But, when I give you an example of a different issue - transgender women (ie people born male) competing with biological boys in a boys league - you will now and “shout to the world that [I was] right.”
Umm. Okay.
Are any other tangential, irrelevant examples I should give you?

The overwhelming majority of people on the other side of this issue are not treating these children with hate and ridicule. In fact, they are treating the children with empathy, while, at the same time, declining to allow girls sports to be adversely impacted.
But, you, in particular, and others like you, vilify the other side – just like you do on each and every other issue. You rationalize your own personal hatred for those with whom you disagree by claiming that the other side is espousing heat. We’re not. You are. Every time.
If you’re on able to think logically and reason politely and argue respectfully it has more to do with you than with anyone else.

Ummm, a lot of hetrosexual women, who are pro-LGBTQ, are taking issue as well.
Don't dismiss it as just a conservative wedge issue.
This is why even the most open minded, progressive people are taking issue these days.
Including why (alleged) self-determination on gender shouldn't happen at 4 years old.
I.e., the radical left can't argue a parent doesn't know better to let their child stay with their born sex, but then turn around and also argue a parent knows better for a child and that they want to switch their sex, at age 4.
Even Liberal and Libertarian doctors are horrified by this new age argument.
Trans-gendered children dominating sports was not a problem, is not a problem, and will never be a problem. The only purpose for this bill is to sow more discontent, rage, and hatred, from right-wingers who believe everything is an affront to their white, straight, christian, heritage.

Whether a Transgender male is mentally and emotionally a female or not, they are still physically a male. Like it or not women can not compete in sports against men. It is simple science. I refuse to be a science denier.
There is a profound lack of understanding when it comes to transgender individuals. Which isn’t shocking. Quite a bit of hatred too simply because of that lack of understanding. Which has been a thing with tons of minority groups over the years.
Not sure why people seriously think that someone would change their gender in order to dominate a sport. It seriously trivializes the realities of being trans. Also not sure why people think that with appropriate hormone treatment, a trans individual would still somehow develop the same types of physical characteristics and performance of their biological sex.
This is a solution in search of a problem and it isn’t shocking that a conservative government would use that to humiliate a minority group. Having to show their genitals to prove their sex? Real weird stuff. Urgency on a topic like this and neglect on things actually that are a problem.

I'm not trying to get in to some huge argument here b/c it doesn't seem like an actual conversation is taking place but I missed where people were making the argument that someone would change their gender for the sole purpose of dominating a sport. The article is behind a paywall so I couldnt read it but was that where the claim was made?
Sk8 did chime in in response stating that there might be incentive for someone to do it but that wasn't the initial claim from anyone in this thread. I'm just confused at the strawman here with regard to that.
This is way too charged of an issue. Approaching it from first principles seems to be the best approach. Are there physical/biological differences between males and females and how does that manifest in the world of athletics? Aside from the transgender issue, is there solid ground for separation? Is there scientifically an unfair physical advantage even after change regardless of any hormone suppression moving forward? How do biological women feel about the issues?

Where are the documented issues out there where urgent legislation is needed so that trans individuals need to show their genitals or other proof in order to play sports with their gender identity? Especially ones that have been on hormone therapy that suppresses many of the standard characteristics of their biological sex that they don’t identify with.
There should be a laundry list of cases.
Yeah, what wrong with asking legitimate -- UNLOADED -- questions and comments about a new social issue? Why do LGBTQ supporters automatically get defensive about it?

Trans individuals have always existed. They didn’t suddenly start existing in 2021. Given that, it should be real easy to produce plenty of examples of people “losing out.”
