WHEN?!?!?! Do the timeline!
It was us or USC. The situation here was better. Plan was to have him sit for a year and take over as a RS. Wimbush was bad and accelerated his starting. Who gave him a committable offer if Heupel didn’t? Who started him and he didn’t leave until a dufferent coach came in?

Correct. It was USC or us. Georgia had pursued him, but they found a better transfer in their eyes, that pretty much ended DG's consideration of them, which everyone reported as Georgia understanding he'd be their #2 now as well.

But ... all that was much, much later! My continued point!

Before Milton went down, Heupel did not want DG. That was reported by several, much to the frustration of Milton himself. That's why DG didn't decommit from Army (sorry, I said Navy earlier, that was Milton himself before Frost showed interest at Oregon) until much, much later.

And ... the rest is history. Wimbush was supposed to be QB#1 once Milton went down, with DG rotating in that first year, probably redshirt, but not necessarily. Wimbush only had 1 year left as a grad transfer, so Heupel's freshman needed to be 'the future.' Heupel did not want DG, and DG only became 'the option left' when no others came out.

Had Milton not been injured, we would very likely never had DG. I want to make that point clear!

Who gave him a committable offer if Heupel didn’t?
Check the dates. :)

Who started him and he didn’t leave until a dufferent coach came in?
Wimbush was looking bad at camp early on. I never said Heupel didn't use DG. I'm just saying Heupel did not want DG, and it wasn't until Wimbush was trash, that he finally had to make that move.

DG was not his choice. DG was the only option left, after Milton went down. Heupel was looking at other options to back up Milton before that. DG was not even on his radar, other than what Milton told him.

I spoke with Danny in the summer n all of UCF(is)BS says is wrong. They loved Gabriel it was obvious. No need to argue with him Certain people will spout out BS and when someone confronts them with the truth they still stand by their total nonsense
Crazy to live like that but I guess some can’t overcome this deficiency

Of course KZ and Danny did! That's who was pushing so hard for them, among others! DG wanted to come to UCF! That was never in any doubt!

But why did DG take so long to open up his recruiting again?! I heard it was Heupel not wanting him.

No need to argue with him Certain people will spout out BS and when someone confronts them with the truth they still stand by their total nonsense
It was going around this board for awhile.

That the 'hold up' in DG even getting an official offer, because he didn't open up his recruiting until late in the season, because of Heupel, no one else.

I.e., we were all dumbfounded because, again, DG wanted to come to UCF!

Crazy to live like that but I guess some can’t overcome this deficiency
So ... what you're saying is that Heupel himself wanted DG way back in 2018? Again ...

Q: Why did DG not decommit and open up his recruiting much sooner, if Heupel always wanted him?!

Hate to bring this up but with UF dline having a field day with our OL and Colorado too we might have an offensive line issue here?

You are 100% wrong about Gabriel and Heupal. 100%. You have no facts that have any consistency with your ridiculous comments. None.
It was on the board dude. Seriously. We talked about this at length, why Gabriel stuck with Army so long ... until Milton went down. That's the reason I'm in the Dungeon! I do not disagree with you most everything else.

We beat out Georgia for Gabriel fact.
Georgia stopped pursing him hard, because they got another QB. They wanted DG before that, no argument. But not once they had a better QB option. You really don't remember that year, do you?

But yes, USC still did want DG. But DG had pretty much committed to us, well beflore we even offered. So how can I be 100% wrong when I'm agreeing with most of what you say?! Why don't you admit I agreed with you on those points?

As far as this ...
Gabriel started the entire season from the second game on.
WHEN did I disagree with this?! WHEN?! Why are you just 'running over me' and not listening to what I agreed with you on?!

You do understand what we call Shuck there, correct? He cannot even follow more than a single season. I mean, we've all caught him oblivious of history.
Dude you’re describing yourself now. Reread your posts A third grader does more factual research & is more persuasive
In addition your posts seem REALLY angry as you provide incoherent posts. Take care of your health it’s not worth it.

The funny thing is ... I agreed with 90% of what you said, and you still acted like I didn't. You kept saying things over and over as if I disagreed with you.
  • Milton, White, our OC and almost everyone wanted DG
  • DG wanted to join Milton at UCF too
  • USC never had a chance, despite what they thought
  • But DG wasn't going to decommit and reopen his recruiting if UCF didn't extend him an offer
It took forever before DG reopened his recruiting. Why was that?! That ... is everything! :)

You also discredited yourself about Georgia. They initially wanted DG, but then got their guy, and DG saw that too. That was well reported at ESPN and several other sources.

At least I have my integrity. Honestly. Shuck? Good luck in getting him to admit anything. The guy will say something, and 10 people will point out something, and he'll just keep going on. Years later, he utterly forgets what he said.

Again, be careful ... he will come after you too, as he has others. Same with Mikes. I call them 'The Cabal' for a reason. They refuse to ever admit what they do, and the wasteland they leave.

Good luck yourself!

These boards are for entertainment value only. The problem I have is when a person tries to act like they know everything when they really don’t. They wouldn’t be on this board if they knew everything. I know some stuff but certainly not every thing. The worst is when they have an agenda See Auburn Legacy. Personally I owe more to UCF than one can imagine. It gave me 4 great years and paid for them when I could not. I was part of some historic times but more so fun n great times. It allowed me the foundation to create a pretty good life. Thats y I stay involved with program.

If Gus does good I’m happy because UCF does good. If he fails or is on the road to fail not so much. That being said these boards don’t change my mood or anything in my life as I know the value they hold. It’s entertainment and gives me a distraction n get away for a few moments from my office and staff.

Charge on !!!

Again, I agreed with 90% of what you asserted. And no ... I don't know everything.

But I do remember 2018, well before 2019. I remember the complaints from people asking, why DG didn't have an offer yet, and why DG hadn't completely decommitted and reopened his recruiting, even though there was a lot of talk, including from various teams.

And I do remember those who follow the recruiting here explaining the situation ... that Heupel wasn't 'sold' on DG over other targets, even transfers, despite everyone from Milton himself to White loving the idea, and DG utterly wanting to come to UCF, over anywhere else.

I remember the arrogance of both Georgia, let alone USC, although Georgia soon 'tapered off' as they got another commitment, and a transfer, and even ESPN reported that. But USC was arrogant, right until the end, and dismissed UCF. DG always wanted to come here.

It was all about why it took so long. And that had everything to do with the massively delayed offer ... until Milton himself went down. Only then did everything start moving, and the official offers flew from us, in addition to Georgia, USC and several, other Power programs.

The timeline just 'fits.' A lot of us were frustrated, and we were told Heupel was the hold-up.

I don't disagree on what happened in 2019. Wimbush was a clear bust, and Heupel realized DG was the future, not a transfer. He had to try Wimbush, of course, otherwise ... when DG threw picks and lost games, fans would be complaining he should have started Wimbush.

Remember, I'm just pointing out ... Gus was not the only problem with this program at times. Heupel had plenty of issues, including with DG, back in 2018, well before 2019. You can say otherwise. And you can assert otherwise. Heck, mispelling Heupel says a lot, but I don't pick on such things.

I have my history on this board.
The ones telling you things about me are lying. You can look at the archives. You'll see why they hate me. I stated things, and years later, they were proven true. I'm wrong sometimes, but I own it.

They wouldn’t be on this board if they knew everything. I know some stuff but certainly not every thing.
I'm just reporting what was on the board. If you say otherwise, so be it ... again, I'm not an authority on this.

But ESPN reporting is EPSN reporting, and they even talked about Georgia no longer having DG as a primary target, as even DG realized they had a QB now. And ... the timeline fits.

The worst is when they have an agenda See Auburn Legacy.
I kinda ignore him ... to a point.

Personally I owe more to UCF than one can imagine. It gave me 4 great years and paid for them when I could not. I was part of some historic times but more so fun n great times. It allowed me the foundation to create a pretty good life. Thats y I stay involved with program.
Hey man, I'm totally with you on 2019, and Huepel finally extending an offer by the time Milton went down. Late November changed everything, and we were huge on DG -- publicly -- in December.

I just think you're not covering the prior times, despite Milton being all for him, as well as the story our AD wanted too. I thought it was awesome, and no one else I knew thought it wasn't either.

But we were told, on this board, it was Heupel that 'wasn't sold,' but then had to 'scramble' once Milton went down. Wimbush came later.

If Gus does good I’m happy because UCF does good. If he fails or is on the road to fail not so much. Good. I treat the board like that too.

Just be careful with a few characters around here ... they take things off-board. I'm up front in Section 129, center Cabana, and when my flights don't get canceled (and even if they do sometimes, and I do the 21 hour round trip), I'm there! I also try to make 1-2 road games/year.

So it gets laughable when other people say I don't go to games, or away games for that matter, and don't give a dime to the program. I've been going since after the Noise Penalty game (wish I would have been into UCF before that), and started giving after I was out of the College of Engineering (when it was named without Computer Science back then) in the '90s.

The Fiestas, Ireland ... even the Hawaii ... I was there. I will be there. GKCO!

Playing victim and making enemies again. Harassing more posters. “But.., but.., but.., it’s everyone else!” Boo Hoo. Cry me a river.

Shocking. Time to locate your mania medicine and actually take it

You’re a lunatic.

He has pushed away all the quarterbacks on the roster he didn’t recruit Gabriel, he didn’t recruit Keene. He pushed them out He recruited a quarterback who is a fullback who can’t throw. His offense is a high school offense that gets picked up rather quickly now that it’s seen. It was OK in the beginning because people didn’t understand it that much.

I don’t think people realistically thought we could come into the conference and win it But we certainly should be able to compete at a higher level. Whether it’s coaching or recruiting, something is not working the way it should. Recruits are seeing this team and if you were a quarterback, it’s hard to come into the scheme if you have an arm, if you’re a wide receiver, your quarterback can’t throw and if you’re running back, don’t wanna be in the situation where there is 8 in the box to defend you. We just want to see a program that if it’s not there yet, he’s going to get there.
THIS^^^Excellent response. All true and backed up with facts. We beat 2 cupcakes, a bad TCU team, and then beat ourselves at florida. Play calling and QB selection are just terrible.

I'm not defending Gus here. I'm telling you don't mention Heupel v. Gus when it comes to Gabriel.

I.e., Heupel didn't think DG fit his system, and he was only a backup option after Milton went down, and Wimbush sucked far worse than Heupel thought he would.

Just admit you did know that, and stop thinking my point here's about Gus. It's 100% Heupel.

Make your points about Gus all you want. But if you're going to throw sh-- at the wall about Heupel and hope it sticks better than Gus... I'm going to call it out.

Don't paint Heupel all rosey.
Heupel had us nose diving quickly. 3 years of spiraling downward i believe. We were terrible when he left.
