It's clear Meeks screwed up in his personal life, just like Webb did, and that's being used to smear him. Meeks, like Webb, saw him resign, under similar circumstances.

- were discredited for personal issues at similar times in the series publication
- lost their primary sources ... the ones major publications required
- both were released (technically, resigned) from their primary publishers
