Just saw Frost is coaching the Peach bowl

Send him out a winner!

No, He does not deserve an extra feather in his cap.

clean out his office today. That's what they do in the Corporate world. I have seen firms escort people out of the building when they give their two week's notice. This is done for security reasons.

I think Frost has more character than many of you are giving him credit for

will he go after UCF recruiting targets? yes but he's not going to try to gut half of the UCF roster. I know everyone is bitter to an extent but I don't see him doing that

3) If he continues his UCF affiliation for another month, it might be a negative against recruiting. "Hey, if Frost is so good, that we need him to coach the bowl, maybe I should go to Nebraska"

4) Also, his continued presence could cause us lose transfers by giving him 4 more weeks to "bond" with our players and make subtle suggestions to those he would like to transfer.
This. 100% agree

Come on Poolside. He has character, but he's not a saint. He's proven that he's out for himself first

Are you going to walk all 8 coaches plus most of your support staff out too? Who's going to lead the team in the bowl game? You'd rather get run off the field than risk SF getting any credit for a win which would immensely help UCF going forward, not only in terms of recruiting, but also in terms of getting a P5 invite down the road? I get that you're angry, but.....

Personally, I selfishly hope you guys run them all off and they start working 100% for Nebraska recruiting now. But Frost has too much love for UCF to do that, even if it temporarily hurts his next employer.

Are you a Nebraska fan?

Yes

he might try to get Vedral to transfer but some of you guys are talking like he's going to try to get like 10 guys to go with him. I doubt that

He doesn't need to try to get Vedral to transfer. He went to UCF for two reasons - Frost, and no NU offer. One of those has already changed, and if the other changes, he's coming home. But that will likely be the extent of players following Frost to Nebraska.

Isn't your opinion a little biased then as a Nebraska fan?

Frost just helped lead UCF from 0-12 to 12-0 in 24 months, have some perspective people. I'm done with the back and forth.

I understand. We can agree to disagree. Im very grateful to him. I really am. I like the guy, but we did help his career just a bit too

Mikesi, you should be happy that grote40 is actually making a ton of a sense. DW directly asked the players what they were looking for in a coach, you don't think that conversation also included CSF coaching the Peach? If that's what goes down, then you are essentially going against the players wishes. I say let the man coach if the players want him to. It's our best shot anyways. Troy doesn't give UCF it's best chance and the players aren't going to learn a whole new system in a month.

I begrudgingly agree that Frost coaching the bowl game gives us the best shot to win and if the players want it then I by default want it too. I'm not happy with how this whole thing went down, but if this is what brings closure to the whole ordeal then I'm all for it.

I'm all for what the players want. I really am, but what an 18-20 wants isn't always what is best. Especially for UCF and it's future

I can see the upperclassmen voting for Frost, because they won't be transferring

Frost built this program. No doubt. However his Gameday coaching decisions were questionable

Is a 50% Frost better than a 100% Walters?

I guess the decision is still to be decided. It's a waiting game now

I'm conflicted. I want to have the best chance to beat P5 in the bowl (Auburn?) but how great a statement - and momentum, Tix sales, recruiting, etc for next year if we beat them without Frost?

Listening to that presser it sounded a lot to me like Frost was going to use coming back to UCF for bowl as a Nebraska recruiting ploy. Souring on the idea, particularly with the reports that he and his staff have been recruiting in secret for weeks for the Huskers while still employed by UCF and lying to players faces.

Huggins was never a UCF commit, he was a FSU lean till the Jimbo situation imploded

Danny White will do what the players want

the man looks emotionally spent

Wait until he hears the bitching about the Nebraska program in like 3-4 years

It took just one press conference to get me from "whatever gets us to 13-0" to "there is no way we should let that staff come anywhere near our players again". Pretty impressive.

Right?!? These players deserve a coaching staff 100% all in on getting them ready for New Years Day, not stopping by campus in between Husker recruiting trips.

throws up tomato shield but I just think Frost is not good in front of a mic. Yes he did not handle the last month good but it was new territory for him in a ruthless media leak environment.

If he was completely honest and didn't decide til this afternoon or Monday for example it would have put UCF behind on the search for his replacement. He should have been honest with White sooner but it is what it is

I was somewhat on board before the presser but then saying they basically had a deal before the temple game, then Verduzco offering people the day of our championship. I understand why the players want him to coach and yeah it may give us the best odds, but on the other hand how committed is he to us? He says he is to the players, but you know he's gonna be selling Nebraska. The game is basically going to be nonstop Nebraska talk on tv as well. Its like an ex you keep around when you know its over.

You could tell Frost wasn't comfortable revealing details about how the deal went down because it's a bad look. He hummed and hawed when asked when he agreed to take the job and then said he accepted the job this week. Then Moos threw him under the bus and revealed that they met in Philly the night before the Temple game. Awkward AF.

He said "the time was right for this". F him. I bought his line of crap before. Not anymore. He may have had genuine emotion leaving, but he let this stuff drag on when he and his staff knew what they were gonna do.

The bright side is, further proof it was the players responsible for this season with a half interested coaching staff.

Move on. We'll make it through the bowl game win or lose.

This thread makes me glad Danny White is making the decisions instead of our fans. Seriously you guys rather lose the NY6 to hang on to a couple recruits who may or may not pan out. Not saying we definitely win the NY6 with Frost on the sideline, but I'm all for what gives us the best chance.

What does more for the perception UCF in the long term? What gives us the best chance of joining a P5 when realignment happens?

Our new hire will be hitting the recruiting trail, if kids transfer to Nebraska they were probably going to anyway.

+1 the reactions are hot headed....Frost was speaking to a room full of Nebraska people

going undefeated is not easy and I'm not liking how much discredit is going to the Head Coach AFTER the fact. Yes the situation the last month was not ideal
