That being said, this can't be as simple as just being a case of transporting a minor across state lines and having a boom-boom session. Even if it is, it does seem a little bit disingenuous to call it "child sex trafficking". He's basically just accused of statutory rape in more than one state. In my mind, sex trafficking implies selling sex acts to a 3rd party.

Now this makes a little bit more sense. That would be consistent with the statement his lawyer made, that Gaetz was a subject in the investigation but not the target.
