Stay tuned

it would not be unusual for the party in the minority to take over at the 2 year mark. The Republicans did it to Obama ... and Obama was incredibly popular among Democrats.

Saying "stay tuned" as if something earth shattering is going to happen is ridiculous.

The point of my message, which you totally ignored, is the hysteria of the left is exactly what led to this terrible human being becoming President. You can blame it on "everyone is racist" and "everyone hates poor people" all you want ... but the simple fact is ... the leftists went NUTS and the country turned on them.

Par for the course as of late.

It's like watching the National Socialists and Soviet Socialists take over, while the Libertarians want neither.

Says the guy who used to fellate Ron Paul [roll]

You went from reading Ron Paul to Karl Marx.

I didn't go to Karl Marx, but once I actually paid attention, educated myself, learned history and world economics, I came to the obvious conclusion that modern Conservativism and Libertarianism is the largest head-in-the-ass approach I could possibly believe in.

I read the first part of your post thinking you may actually deliver a reasonable, moderate response and then I finished reading and realized you’re just as big an extremist as I remember.

You did go to Karl Marx. You’re just afraid to admit it because you know the stigma.

The NFL kick off game last night, featuring the defending SB Champs, came in with a negative 13% in viewership vs last years opener.

Ho hum nothing to see. Americans love these kneelers!

Remember that time all those people burned Catholic rosaries to protest thousands of children being raped? Oh yeah me either evidently a black guy getting an ad campaign is a bigger deal to you MAGAts. Fuking special snowflake SJW inbred idiots.

Small Christian college dumps Nike.

Small Christian college in Missouri ditches Nike over controversial Colin Kaepernick ad | Daily Mail Online
Smart thing to do. The tyranny is coming. Anti-white racism is now sponsored by Nike with Chinese slave laborers and Colin Kaepernick. These apparel companies are no longer American companies. They are dependent on Chinese slave labor and the Chinese government who has an edge over the USA in globalist trade law that favors them. Anti-white racism and anti-Christian bigotry is the base platform now for communists and Marxists, who are sponsored by companies like Nike, Levi's and Apple. They make the rope, the apparel, and the electronics to hang us with. They are only putting Colin's face in front of Trotsky. That's what they really believe in.

Well, I think that's hyperbole as much as those trying to make the case of "K" being like the '60s civil rights movement all over.

Ok so, their failure was 100% due to him and stupid and shit, but the success of it is 0% due to him. I think kaep being the face of their ad campaign is odd but I imagine there are people who purposely bought stuff based solely on him. Like greater than 0%.

It's cute you are still trying to use logic when debating with him.

What in God's name are you talking about? What failure? Aside from pointing out that polling showed a huge drip in favorability, never once did I claim this was going to cause Nike to "fail". Nike stock has been making new highs for the past couple years.

I was responding to the dumb insinuation that Nike suddenly hit a new high because of the Kaep stuff. It was going to hit a new high either way.

Christ almighty, the first effing post in this thread was how stupid of a business move this was. The success/non-success of Nike's move, where their stock was last week, etc. has been talked about numerous times over the course of six pages. Try to keep up.

You responded to my post as if I were the one saying those things, which I wasn't. It was some fly by night WC poster.

i didnt think it was a good ad campaign. i thought i might alienate a good portion of their customers, but it does seem to have worked so far.

I don't know if it will work or not work. You assume they have smart people on the Board that played out the scenarios before they made the decision.

Their stock price today is not really a reflection of whether an ad campaign worked or not. The economy is booming and earnings are up across the spectrum. You won't see any effect of this campaign till the next few quarterly reports. Even with that, a few thousand people burning their shoes isn't going to tank the entire brand. They sell a lot of stuff all over the world.

I'm sure they're seeing a swell of woke people buying products to be anti-conservative or pro-Kaepernick. That's going to fade and then we'll see whether this was a smart ploy or a not.

My family tended to buy a lot of Nike products. Now the only way we will buy Nike products is if they are UCF gear. Even then we have second thoughts; we passed on the #18 jersey at the game on Saturday because of it.

We can't countenance providing financial support for a company paying someone whose words are being used to attack my wife's profession and stir up sentiment that makes my wife's job more dangerous. Nike has the right to do whatever they want and we won't judge people who buy Nike for whatever reason. We just ask everyone to respect our decision. (that last one was tongue in cheek)

i had to have the #18 ucf jersey and i bought 2. but that was because i really wanted the 18 for griffin and the pegasus on the shoulder. but i wont buy nike gear in the future. mostly because the only nike gear i would want is the ucf polos. the biggest deterent to those is the $80 price. but now i definitely wont get them.

I told my wife to put it on my Christmas list but I don't think there's a chance in hell she's buying it for me.

So faux flag outrage or maybe the product is simply better than it has been?

Or maybe junkies can now get their gambling fix more easily and are glued to TV sets to see how their money is doing?

Another factor that may be making a difference in ratings: The Supreme Court struck down a federal ban on sports gambling in May.

“We suspect legalized sports betting has been a major reason why ratings have stabilized as much as they have,” Brian Hughes, an executive vice president at Magna, which monitors audience trends. said. “Viewers have more invested both literally and figuratively in the game.”

Or the product is significantly better, there's no presidential election and people are addicted to football more than raging against kneelers.

I think it’s a combination of the controversy dying down over time and the product being so offensive.. football-speaking of course. People like to see scoring, especially the large percentage of fantasy players.

Or maybe it's all of the above? I haven't watched a lot of NFL but I don't remember seeing tons of guys kneeling. It's a non story now, for the most part. Offenses are scoring.

If anything it's vindication for the NFL owners coming down harder on kneeling during the anthem.

the controversy and the amount of players still kneeling is dying down.

Huh? They intentionally shelved instituting a rule change requiring standing if on the field bc of the backlash. They're doing nothing about it and won't. It's a non issue and hypocrites will get over it.

Maybe just the PR move of trying to make a change has given back some credibility in the eyes of the weirdly conservative. Or maybe another year of seeing Trump has them doing some introspection and wondering how they look to others.
