O'Leary A Miserable Recruiter!!!

Regardless of a coaches record, it's shocking how he still has a job after all of the controversy that has surrounded him. College sports are so bizarre, in that a employee can cause massive fees, fines, and sanctions and still be treated as they did no wrong. Very few places have high standards for their coaches when it comes to moral decency. We are certainly not one of them.

So now you are really trolling. You know better.

the huggers are stuck in a myopic fishbowl.

It's not a good sign when you are loyal fan of UCF and you find yourself having to constantly defend your University's Integrity to constantly stand behind a Coach despite very negative accusations every single year.

I don't get it either. The guy was damaged goods since he got here and some people on this forum treat him like he's god's gift to football.

Here's why your argument is a steaming pile of shit: Boise State

Boise State is in the middle of fukcing nowhere, full of fat chicks, no beaches and no football talent, A.K.A. Idaho. They haven't had a losing season since 1997. Since 1998, they have a combined record of 187-37 (83% win avg) and have gone 11-5 (69%) in Bowl games, 3 of those wins being at the Fiesta Bowl vs Top 15 FBS opponents (Oklahoma, TCU, Arizona). They have done that with 4 coaches (Dirk Coetter, Dan Hawkins, Chris Petersen & Bryan Harsin).

How do you recruit that quality and quantity of player talent and coaches over a span of almost 20 years to go to west bumblefukc?
Geez, you make Idaho sound like Detroit. Every recruiting cycle, without fail, we get recruits who are pleasantly surprised by Boise and Idaho when they come up for their visit. Even if we accept your characterization as "West Bumblefukc," recruits willingly go to places like Tuscaloosa, Waco, and DeKalb.

Like most successful programs, we've built on a foundation of community support, financial support (for instance, the new state-of-the-art facilities), great coaching, and recruiting. At first, we were good at finding "diamonds in the rough" who were underlooked by the PAC and Big 12 and developing them. Now, we have started getting 4-stars and beating PAC and Big 12 schools out for recruits. We've consistently won on the big stage and developed a national brand.

It might sound like an insult but we love your program....we swear. :)

I was just going to say that!!!! I over exaggerate for shock value but I wish we had a program as successful as yours.

Come back Bronco Fiesta. Its just a misunderstanding my friend....a mis-under-stand-ing.
Yes, @BroncoFiesta , come back!!!!!! We loves Boiseans!!!!!

For reals, dude (or dudette), I still remember the Fiesta Bowl with the statue of liberty and the hook and ladder. I woke up my girlfriend screaming "YOU JUST MISSED THE GREATEST FOOTBALL GAME EVER!!!!!!!!!".

Most everyone here admires your program. There are really shortsighted fans here who can see past the last few weeks to judge their own program. They are conceited enough to think that Orlando is some sort of football paradise that any moron should be able to bring top 25 recruits here. They point to the success of Boise and paint a picture that somehow you are, or should be, second choice to any reasonable Florida recruit. They think that UCF is some sort of football mecca and to lose to your own conference foes is somehow beneath us. I am sorry for their portrayal of Idaho. forgive them they are ignorant and have no sense of propriety.

It's more frustration by UCF fans and admiration of Boise St. Recruits can visit UCF in November and it's 80 degrees with 8s walking around the Leisure Pool yet the Program has plateaued and now has rapidly declined in recruiting & coaching since our Fiesta Bowl moment. It shouldn't happen with a campus that is a tank of gas away from so much Football Talent.

That is the most bullshit answer I've ever read here, but it's coming from you, so there.

Soft bigotry of low expectations.

Seriously, WTF is going on with recruiting right now?? I see 4 commitments. Most other teams seem to have over 10 by this point in the cycle. Don't we have a full compliment of scholarships for the first time in a while? Plan on using any of them? Less than four months to go until national signing day....

I'm guessing not too many 18 year olds are psyched about playing an 0-6 70 year old who throws his players under the bus every chance he gets and is always a year away from retiring.

How long is that 70yo coach planning to stay?

reminder that GOL's staff had this NYer take a scholarship offer away from 6'7" & mobile Paxton Lynch who played HS ball 45 minutes away from UCF's Campus

Lynch was such an awesome prospect that he had offers from both Memphis and FAMU. Anybody can play the "what if" game with how recruits worked out, or didn't.

We did offer him last minute but Memphis was there from day one. I have no problem with him getting away and the coaches didn't miss him, they were just late due to his injured senior year. Even Memphis gave him a scholarship without seeing him throw a live pass.

After the Fiesta Bowl win, the last 2 years should've been a recruiting bonanza for UCF. He is just a miserable recruiter. There are more than enough good players here in Florida, yet O'Leary doesn't bother to recruit here nearly as much as he should. There is no excuse for this ineptitude! UCF sorely needs a new coach who is a strong recruiter.

Seriously, AND THIS QUESTION GOES FOR EVERYONE WHO POSTED HERE, how many players and players' parents have you talked to, to formulate your "opinion?"

I don't need say mine bc the real fans see me at practices talking it up with the parents.

Honors you sound like an "honorable" fan when you talk to the parents, fans et al unlike UCFBS who comes across as someone that's always pressuring UCF fans into committing to GOL as our coach...even at the Fiesta Bowl.*

Thanks bud. I get you're just a silver knight and may not have been here long enough to know, but I keep it 100. The tide and winds shift. But I'm consistent. I have my finger on the pulse of the program and I don't give a damn if that hurts someone's feelings.

Brandon and I have kicked around the idea of Ask Honors First before your "new" thread gets posted, but ain't nobody got time for that.

That's on the recruiting coordinator. Oh hello Brent Key
