Renaud was reportedly covering the plight of the Ukrainianpeople in the wake of Russia’s invasion. According to one unconfirmed report, he and at least two other journalists were ambushed by Russian soldiers at a border checkpoint as they were in a car in Irpin, just outside Kyiv. The others in the car were wounded but alive at last report

Pretty messed up. I saw the interview with his cameraman in the hospital this morning and he almost seemed numb to what had happened. Very disturbing.
There’s a pretty big leap from corrupt Ukraine holding onto non-conventional weapons and the US funding them directly and explicitly to produce offensive weaponry.
This whole thing just exposes how big of a joke we are as a people. We can invade Iraq by making up a lie about WMDs, but when Russia does the same thing all of a sudden we are the righteous ones? Our countries solidarity is based on lies and claims of virtue that we don't have any more.
But this goes both ways. There are a lot of people in this world now who think the US is the only evil country, because in many of our lifetimes, the US has been the lone superpower. And because of that, the only country they think ever does anything wrong, is the US. But Russia has a history with this stuff just like we do. I think it is more than acceptable to criticize the US with regards to WMD's and Iraq in general, but I also dont think that means that Russia should somehow get a pass just because we have done stupid shit too.
I'm not giving them a pass, which is why I find it hilarious to see posters claiming that I'm some kind of pro-russian shill in this thread. Maybe I'm just not willing to tow the company line anymore.

Sucks that with all of the propaganda and misinformation that’s going both ways, it’s hard to know what’s true about this situation right now. Did Ukrainians accidentally fire on them, as some say? Or is that just Russian propaganda to cover up for them actually doing it? We still can’t say right now.
Best I can tell, he was returning from a refugee camp and the soldiers at the Ukranian checkpoint opened fire. Chalk it up to the fog of war.

LOL. In the grand scheme of things, Nordstream is insignificant compared to Trump's undeniable efforts to weaken the NATO alliance.
