I expanded on the original question. Do you have any idea of how this goes down, because i sure as heck don't. The primary holdings have to be in the hundreds of billions and they can't make payments now. Do things just go into default and derivative holders take their lumps?

This information is widely available online if you'd like to research it. Nukes today are not nearly as big as the ones that were developed in the 1960s. Most are in the low kiloton range of payload, a far cry from castle bravo or tsar Bomba. That's kind of the nice things about having fighter jets, they can take out the planes that would be necessary to carry nukes with a large payload before it reaches its target.
Some warheads weigh as little at 50kgs, just stop. We already know that we can’t stop nearly enough Russian warheads to stop the death of at least 50-100 million. Likely more.
Then there is the fallout and nuclear winter

Oh please. Nuclear winter is a theory that was debunked years ago. If it was a thing, it would have already happened due to all of the test bombs. Literally thousands of nukes have been detonated and we are all still here, even many that were in close range of the blasts. It's all been overblown just to scare people into voting republican.

I have a lot of anxiety about this christmas. After 2 suicidal episodes this year I am really uncomfortable with the idea of being around the in-laws. This year has also brought about changes with my girls. I got divorced 8 years ago and had full custody of my kids until this year. They moved in with their mom in january and things have been pretty difficult between us since then. Nobody, including my wife, has been terribly supportive of what I've been dealing with this year and I've been putting on a happy face whenever I'm asked how things are going because when I'm honest it makes things worse. I'm just tired of it and now its going to be in my face for the next few days. Nobody understands but everybody has a solution.
