SockDick on 365 Sports

There’s way more to the story that was posted in the Dungeon, regarding how he treated Mikey Keene and his teammates. He was very disingenuous.

Additionally, there was a very condescending post by his mother in regards to UCF, it’s brand of football, the schedule with “meaningless games” vs usf etc., and the fanbase. That’s a reflection on DG.

You can take the high road if you want, but let fans have their own opinions. Remember, fans is short for fanatics. Many feel disrespected. FWIW, I don’t buy NIL items like socks

This is what passionate fans do. SEC fans poison the other team’s trees. Lol. We are very tame.

Please just stop with the jilted GF comparison. That’s so apples and oranges. Many complained about him while he was here. He couldn’t win the big games, and he was a Heupel system, long bomb, stat machine who threw his share of pick 6s and slid yards before the nearest defender, avoided contact like the plague, etc. That’s not saying that he’s expected to run over every defender by any means

I will be cheering for UCF every week, but if I happen to be watching an Oklahoma game, I do not wish him the best. Same goes for Flash for a variety of similar reasons

Haven't read enough to know how he treated Mikey (wish I did), but have got to disagree with you on mother's comments reflecting on him. It could be true, but I have no idea about their relationship. Fortunately, not around mine for 5 years and would laugh at anyone taking her word for what I believed. Hearsay.

One would think then he would be easily beat out by another QB then. Bad teammate, bad leader, weak player. Why did Malzahn bother persuading him to stay? Why would Oklahoma and Lebby take a chance on him?

Every take away is he is mediocre system QB that was a lockerroom cancer, but was still steered as the face of the program by those in charge of the program.
It's like you've never heard of a player been a locker room cancer on one team, leaving and becoming a star/good teammate on another. Have you ever heard of sports? It's quite a common thing. Either he/she changes, the environment changes/HC, position coach changes etc. I'd direct you to the NFL, it's a professional football league (played after college years). There you'll see this exact story play out almost yearly. Sports is fun.

He apparently has a close enough relationship with his parents and his dad played college football. His mother purchased a Dungeon membership for the sole purpose of defending her son’s actions by trashing UCF football and the fans. Some of the comments made could only be interpreted as reflecting at least some of the things that they have discussed in private

As far as Mikey, he basically berated him for the loss to Navy. However, if you don’t believe that, it was obvious to all, that he wasn’t seen helping him at all on the sidelines. He distanced himself from that aspect both on and off the field. He was often seen joking around with another WR who also entered the transfer portal nowhere near the rest of the team. Just stating the facts

How much of- Lebby wasn't made the HC after I really wanted it after the HC left to Tenn.- played into last year? Remember the histrionics of taking UCF off his social media when he didn't get his way? Did he actually make the decision then? Who knows, but it does seem like whiny behavior. Again for the fanatics, don't wish cancer on him.

Oh. Know I should, but don't really watch the sidelines. Didn't know that. As far as berating Mikey for the Navy loss, I did too. Really, really loudly, quite insulting too, but I don't think he heard me.

Oh PS, don't wish cancer on Mikey either (seems to be something you have to say now)

Remember the UCF player, a vet, that beat Cancer and came back to play for UCF?

Is the point dead yet? See the stupidity yet?

I think it’s just a little different situation from what fans do on TV vs being a good teammate and mentor to a true freshman in his first game. At that point DG probably didn’t even decide that he was transferring. Making being an A-hole even worse. I know you’re being facetious

Really need to understand the difference between not caring and bitter. Right now he's the same as Jacob Sirmon. Seems you're so overboard with feel goodiness that you can't ascribe anything but 'cancer' to people who state the obvious. He could fall off a cliff, as well as John Appleknocker. My not noticing doesn't mean I actually wanted John Appleknocker to fall off a cliff. Try to hold back on your fanaticism enough to actually respond to the comment you're answering. I enjoyed the wins too, but after reading too much probably, have a bad suspicion that he actually didn't win a game we were even or not supposed to win. There is a difference between him and Milton. Pointing it out doesn't mean I want him to get cancer. One foot in reality is not that bad a thing. Try it. Again, to not care about him is not to hate him. It simply means he's equal with Jacob Sirmon, who I'm guess you have no idea who he is (no googling). By the way, there's no reason why you should know him, just like there's no reason why you should know Gabriel, and no I don't want Sirmon to get cancer, Why? Because I'm sane.
Dude your comparison to Jacob Sirmon is idiotic at best. Simon was a career backup at UW who then lost hos job after he transferred and then lost his job again. DG was the entrenched starter and leader of the team. Huge Difference.

The reality is DW quit on his team, his coaches, his school, and the fans. All for his self image and financial gain. How many of his teammates possibly lost opportunity because of his selfishness. In all honesty the one thing I'm happy is he never went to a
Army because I'd hate to see him lead or attempting to lead men. He is the type of person that would get his troops killed for his own personal vanity..

If you ask who I'm most compare him to it's Benedict Arnold. Arnold may have been the most talented general in the American revolution and arguably saved the revolution and the American cause at the battle of Saratoga but I still can't forgive him when he decided to become a traitor to America.

The reason I don't like him has nothing to do with buying socks (I never did). It has everything to do with him and his family/entourage letting his teammates, coaches, fans and school down.

So you’re perfectly fine with UCF being a farm team for the real schools. Good to know.
You’ve changed my mind….. so I’ll join you and the others who want a pat on the back for wanting him to fail…you’re justified…he’s a creep for transferring…just like all the ones who left their school and transferred to UCF

He is the type of person that would get his troops killed for his own personal vanity..

I have to relent. I have never spoken to the guy in my life. Some of you either have had some personal interactions with Gabriel or just really adept to judging a character.

He must be a really bad guy.

You care and notice enough to incredulously make a post wondering why anyone could possibly wish him well and asked for an explanation…so you obviously do not wish him well…the cancer and hex references embody the extreme opposite to wishing him well and the extent to which you can dislike him if you want…I got it…you hate him enough to wish a bad season on him….just not to the point of cancer…I mean, that crosses the line and would be insane, unlike hoping he fails next season because he left UCF…that’s not extreme at all…that’s not “ overboard”…it’s “feel goodiness ” it’s what “real“ fans do…I just can’t believe everyone doesn’t feel the same and would dare post otherwise!

Wow, you really don't understand English. I don't care how he does. "I" is the personal pronoun it means me. "Don't" means I do not. "Care" means serious attention, especially to the details of a situation or thing. "How" means in what way or by what methods, He again is a pronoun it means Gabriel in this instance, "Does" is the present simple of the verb to do- that is in this instance 'his performance" if those words aren't too big for you. In other words, I'll never spend 1 second wondering about his performance. (words probably too big for you). So for you simple minded, I actually don't wish him ill. I don't wish him anything. I'm ignoring him. Can you understand that? You really have a big problem with English. I don't wish him a cancer, tho those who can't argue a point immediately do like you and think the absolute horrible of your wiser opponent. Do try to grasp reality. Gabriel can have as great a life as the QB of Akron. I don't care. I don't want Akron's QB to get cancer, I don't want Gabriel to get cancer. It's only simple minded that wish that on people, hence why you mentioned it. I also don't wish Akron's QB to win every game, just like I don't want Gabriel to win every game. Why? Because I don't care. How many times need I say that? PS, I don't want either of them to get cancer, only a simple minded buffoon assigns that to the person their debating.

Ok I get your points, but you completely missed my point. My point, to be completely obvious, and apparently it has to be in capitals, WHY SHOULD I CARE ABOUT A QB THAT ISN'T AT UCF! Just like I don't care about Sirmon, I don't care about Gabriel. Why should I? That was the point.

PS If you actually knew Sirmon without looking him up awesome, my point was an obscure team CMU.

This is a message board and it is the off-season after all….and Sockass rubbed a lot of ppl the wrong way, he came off self interested and disingenuous. I always liked him, but this NIL stuff changed the game and the players for the worst, which I predicted would happen. I bet he does well at OU (which I think he will put up stats but will he still lose the big games?) and he will go down as one of the most if not THE most hated ex-UCF players. I think the disdain is warranted.
At this point I do think he did us a favor of moving on because he doesn’t fit our need of talented dual QB with offense. We aren’t going to get 5 star QB for a while with athletic OLine averaging 320+ weight

Are you saying that we need to get bigger at OL to attract a 5* recruit? If so, I might direct you to look at the roster of the KC Chiefs and the Green Bay Packers.

“Really wonder why so many are invested in 'wishing him the best'.”…….yeah…you go out of your way to post (about someone you don’t “Care“ about) that it‘s unfathomable that anyone could “wish him the best”…maybe you should read what you write…...but you “REALLY” don’t care, don’t “REALLY wonder”…”Really” denotes strong, depth of emotion…what you should have written is ….“I don’t care how Gabriel plays at Oklahoma”….I’ll let you resubmit that for a higher grade…without the name calling or I‘ll call your mother

Battle of the 2 decades…wtf is going on here guys lol. One thing I’ve gathered is that English/language arts wasn’t part of the UCF curriculum in the 90’s 🤷🏻‍♂️

Really don’t have a strong opinion on this debate. But since you’re quick to point out your intellectual superiority and apparently value proper english, I thought you might want to look up the difference between “their” and “they’re”. 😉
