Target ditches gender labels for kid toys

I never said any of that. What i said is that you owe the ones before you an apology for what is happening at Target.

Instead you coin phrases such as pussification to make you feel better about the downfall of the United States.

You did though by saying my ancestors would be angry I'm not out putting women by saying they don't deserve legos. By saying 60 years ago I would be out lynching black people.

Jokes aside, after reading the linked story, I don't have a problem with it.

They weren't asking for Barbie dolls in the boys section, they are asking why there is a "building blocks" label and "girl building blocks" label. There is no need to do that.

Incredible how simple minded some people are ain't it?

The point is that it really shouldn't matter and it really is not offensive. In other words, no one should really give a crap...except for the PC jackwagons who have nothing else better to do except whine, bitch and moan.

Oh gimme a break

EXACTLY. Where is your confusion ?

" In some cases, like apparel, where there are fit and sizing differences, it makes sense. In others, it may not … in some departments like Toys, Home or Entertainment, suggesting products by gender is unnecessary.”

How in the hell is that social engineering any more than a sign that says, "hey you have a vagina and must be directed to the pink easy bake ovens"?
It's social de-engineering, which by definition is also social engineering. It also happens that the people who complain about bringing more women/minorities into the marketplace are the ones who can barely compete with the existing work force.

No matter one's thoughts on the article, you have to admit there is some sort of social pressure on Target to do this. What other reason do they have to announce that they're degendering their products? Target is displaying it's acquiescence to a certain political standard. It won't hurt business, but it will showcase Target's friendliness to a set of ideas. It's a safe move with no victims.

Damn! And this whole time I thought the sectional gender labeling at the Target stores was simply a way to save me time by making products easier to find when I was out looking for a birthday gift or something for my nieces and nephews.

All this from an article that didnt really say a whole lot. Actually the only part of the article I had a problem with was that some groups were calling for the removal of the boys and girls clothes signs. Thread worked perfectly.

Also loved the fact that ucfvsbcs showed how truly racist he really is.

As a father of two young girls, I love this. Most dipshits in this thread that have a problem with it, either (a) don't have children or (b) aren't active enough in their children's lives to go shopping for toys with them.

I love how not having children is an immediate disqualifying condition to have an opinion or a problem on this subject.

By the same logic, since I have relatives that are homosexual, those of you that don't have any homosexual relatives can't have an opinion or a problem with homosexuality.

This makes everything so much simpler now. I'm glad we can all be Sith Lords and deal in absolutes.

Having kids completely changes how you view the world. I say this because I had a lot of strong beliefs about kids before but were completely changed the day my daughter was born. If you dont have kids, I cant take your opinions on kids seriously. Its not a fault, just a lack of perspective that is impossible to gain unless you have kids.

And no opinions on abortion unless you're a woman and no opinion on rape unless you have a penis and know what it's like.

Father of two boys here...they make guns and weapons out of pretty much everything. Boys and girls are absolutely different from the get go. As the head of their preschool once told us "boys seem to come out of the womb knowing how to make a gun out of legos."

However, when my 4 year old asks me if Toy X is for boys or girls because he's not sure if he should want to play with it, it bugs me that he feels that already. Play with whatever you want to little man, you'll have plenty of time to worry about what other people think later.

Talk about sexist. We're supposed to assume you mean straw"man" because of the jacket and tie. What if it is really a straw"woman"?
He's never been a straw man, so he doesn't even know what he's talking about anyways.

I'm using his own logic, btw.

You're assuming that their surroundings had no effect on their personalities. That doesn't make sense. There are definitely differences between boys and girls but using anecdotal evidence from society to support the societal structure is a circular and weak argument.

Jets is right again. Jajajajajaja.

As a father of a picture frame I hope my picture frame lives a life free from stereotypes and is free to be stained whatever color it wants and fall in love with a table

Picture frames are victims
