The Current State of Florida Programs

As an 80's kid who grew up in Miami, the state of that program over the last however many years, is sad. The fans just make it worse as they pretend then is now, and it just isn't.

In other news, I am going to try to make it to an FAU game this season. Just too damn close not to go and I actually think the stadium has real students and alumni in the seats based on the two UCF games I've been to there.

My company is a Miami based company since the 30’s. They have 50 yard line box suite to all Miami sporting events including UM & Miami Dolphins. I think they are the longest tenured box suite for the Miami Dolphins in fact. They just sent out a notice this week begging to bring current customers or prospects for all UM games b/c they are going to waste. I have no one that wants to go, neither does any one in FL, including our Miami reps. There is literally no appeal.

The Dolphins are different though, they have real fans and interest. Our company has no problems filling those requests.

I can be one of your prorpective customers and go to a UM game with you!

Nah, I’m good bro and I don’t even care what you’re buying lol…actually I’m taking my two 8/10 yr old kids to Boise tomorrow for the weekend and game.
My brother and I were thinking about going too and combining the trip with white water rafting. Unfortunately, all the medium to higher class rivers are done with their rafting season at this time of year.
Enjoy your trip and hopefully you and the kids bring us good luck.

Even when they were good their attendance has never been great but Miami is a much more ‘Pro city’ now . Messi, Dolphins, Heat. The Canes will only draw a good crowd a few times a year now : vs FSU and if they are undefeated late in a season.

It’s also a reason despite me thinking FAU has a chance to be another UCF the difference is the lack of a fanbase. it is just a bad market to build college fanbases

FAU Fans and students struggle to show up when UCF doesn't come to town too.

Can I quote you, anonymously if you prefer?

But, but, but…you people said…
Hey man, Miami may be back, just like Texas. It's funny how when Miami isn't ranked in the preseason, they prove the doubters wrong. It's been very rare the past 2 decades though.

We'll see.

BTW, 2017 called and said... don't forget about unranked ACC teams in your own Division.

Miami really challenging themselves OOC with Miami (OH), Bethune Cookman and Temple. The tough game is at home. When you have four OOC games at least two of them should be a challenge.

Miami seems improved, but let’s be real here. TAMU was a 5 win team a year ago and got a charity ranking this year. They may be better in 2023, but it’s far from a given. Luckily for Miami the ACC is pretty cheeks so they will probably be favored in all but 2 or 3 games going forward.

You were lied to all off-season kid. You defend lies. Where are the UCF deep throws at? UCF QB with 3 passing TDs and 4 INTs in the year.

Boise lost their home opener for the first time since Miami was good. At the hands of UCF. But congrats beating a temporarily ranked team that, like you, was sitting at home for bowl season last year.

Boise gave up 56 points and 6 passing TDs last week. UCF scored 18 points and ZERO passing TDs. You were lied to all off season kid.

When is UCF going to throw deep? Who is going to be doing the throws? I’ll wait.

UCF should have had 30+ on Boise, just like 70+ on Kent. It was 100% self-inflicted. UCF rolled up >>500 yards on Boise, while limiting them to <<400. We stalled ourselves in the redzone, rarely punting at all.

Again, UCF had self-inflicted turnovers and other mistakes.

What does 'throwing deep' have anything to with winning? We wear out defenses with 5+ intermediate followed by big plays, and rest our own D.
