The Current State of Florida Programs

On the Scott “Buddy” Frost hire:

1. UCF did not have the money to hire an active P4 HC…they would have to pay him more than what he was making at his current job + the buy out. This was never going to happen.
Dude, UCF barely had the money to pay the buyouts of Gus's assistant coaches. No money was left over to pay Gus's buyout or hire any respectable head coach or assistants. What's funny is UCF fans think they landed a Big Fish.
2. UCF offered to job to Jon Sumrall and Barry Odom and both turned the job down.

3. Prime and Riley was b.s. “leaked” by Mohajir. Neither guy had the slightest interest in the UCF job. Maybe in an alternative universe UCF would be able to afford either of those guys.
There is zero chance Prime would go to a directional Florida school in any universe. Even the transformational changes Gus made weren't enough.
4. Scott “Buddy” Frost was hired…#1 reason: It was a hype move. That’s all.
No. It was nostalgia and nostalgia alone. Same reason Mac Brown went back to UNC.

However...

Like in the movie Big Fish (2003), when Edward Bloom (Frost) returns to Spectre (Orlando), he will discover the conditions have changed.

Guys, just to help get the Chattahoochee patient away, please help me in throwing off this thread with all sorts of different topics. What's for breakfast? Awesome that the Panhandle is getting lots of snow today huh?

Multiple inaccuracies in this post.

the most comical being in bold. Gus did nothing but stagnate and decline the Program. And the worst part is he made UCF boring.

Without the Scott Frost years and the team he left Heupel UCF does not get a Big 12 invite. So he has already done more for the Program than the senile man from Arkansas.

Oleary’s offense was more exciting than gus’s. At least then we knew who we were and we were run heavy with a purpose.

Wow! You're right. Never thought I would say that O'Dreary's offense was exciting but compared to Gus the Bust's it was a thriller.

The NCAA already agreed that Xavier Lucas can withdraw and the enroll and play anywhere he wants. There’s absolutely nothing the NCAA can do.

Just say you did not even read the article. Lmao.

You can easily tell that he’s a very talented player by the butt hurt replies from Wisconsin fans.

I'd have to say my 2002 WS6 Trans Am. Last ones made except for the concept ones they made a few years ago. Well preserved with only 70,000 miles. Got some nice offers but I refuse to sale cause I want one of my sons to have it one day. I also love my Jaguar.

Man memories I had a 2001 Firehawk it was one of the most fun cars I've ever owned. I was young and dumb and got rid of it.

Yes, Gus Malzone failed at UCF but you cannot compare that to the way Scott “Buddy” Frost failed at Nebraska. Frost was given all of the support and resources needed to succeed…all of the big money boosters believed in him.

Frost is regarded as being the worse Nebraska head coach ever. He failed in every way. At least Malzone…did not fail personally only professionally (did manage two winning seasons). Also, Malzone left without taking money (albeit to save face).
