Rivals has continued its partnership with Pro Football Focus (PFF) which grants me access to their comprehensive analytics and statistical tools.

After each game, two separate analysts grade every player on each play of the game and the two totals are averaged out. Obviously no subjective ranking system is perfect, but I am finding that my real world impressions of a player in a certain game usually reflects the PFF grade.

Unfortunately, this update will be a bit different than previous postings. I have been informed that PFF does not allow distribution of screenshots, which is what I had been doing to convey the full picture. I can editorialize the information I have access to, but no longer can I straight-up copy.

Overall Defensive Grades

With what I considered to be a fairly poor defensive game, I was really curious to how the grades would stack up. I really didn't know who would be the top grader, but I was surprised that the PFF top defensive performer was DT Cam Goode, who earned a 78.0 grade. He was credited with four pressures, which includes three hurries and a one hit.
