Rivals has continued its partnership with Pro Football Focus (PFF) which grants me access to their comprehensive analytics and statistical tools.

After each game, two separate analysts grade every player on each play of the game and the two totals are averaged out. Obviously no subjective ranking system is perfect, but I am finding that my real world impressions of a player in a certain game usually reflects the PFF grade.

PFF Grading Scale

90 and above - Elite
80 to 89 - Great
70 to 79 - Good
60 to 69 - Average to Above Average
50 - 59 - Below Average
49 and below - Poor

Team Offensive Grade (by game)

Boise State - 66.9
Bethune-Cookman - 83.2

Overall Offensive Player Grades (Snaps Played)

QB Dillon Gabriel (57) - 91.2
QB Joey Gatewood (5) - 85.8
QB Quadry Jones (11) - 81.3
WR Stephen Martin (11) - 78.5
WR Ryan O'Keefe (48) - 77.6
RB Trillion Coles (22) - 77.2
RG Lokahi Pauole (57) - 74.0
QB Mikey Keene (15) - 73.6
WR Kaedin Robinson (17) - 73.5
C Matt Lee (25) - 72.9
RB Mark-Antony Richards (9) - 72.8
RG Chidoziri Maghiro (30) - 72.6
WR Dionte Marks (5) - 71.8
C Mike Lofton (30) - 71.7
WR Brandon Johnson (57) - 71.6
RB Anthony Williams (6) - 68.8
RB Johnny Richardson (7) - 67.3
RT Samuel Jackson (57) - 66.9
LT Marcus Tatum (57) - 64.5
LG Adrian Medley (32) - 63.7
LG Cole Schneider (57) - 63.1
WR Jaylon Robinson (55) - 62.9
WR Amari Johnson (20) - 62.5
***RB Isaiah Bowser (43) - 62.5
LT Brett Bell (30) - 61.2
WR Titus Mokiao-Atimalala (19) - 58.2
WR Jordan Johnson (15) - 57.6
WR Nate Craig-Myers (20) - 57.3
RT Edward Collins (30) - 57.1
LG Josh McMullen (30) - 57.1
TE Alec Holler (28) - 52.1
TE Jordan Davis (4) - 50.0
TE Zach Marsh-Wojan (27) - 47.8
TE Jake Hescock (21) - 40.2

In total, that's 34 different players seeing action. Just 19 players saw action vs. Boise State.

That's an elite 90+ grade for Dillon Gabriel, which is what we've come to expect. His overall 2020 season grade was elite (90.9) and elite games from 2020 include Tulane (90.1) and South Florida (93.6).

Joey Gatewood, though his role was limited with five plays, also scored high. So did all the QBs, really.

There is a clerical error for Isaiah Bowser as he was assigned a "0.0" pass blocking grade which is dragging down his overall grade. No one ever gets a zero.

UCF's four tight ends were at the bottom.

Offensive Line Grades

Pass Blocking:

RT Samuel Jackson - 84.4
LG Cole Schneider - 84.2
LG Adrian Medley - 84.1
RG Lokahi Pauole - 80.5
C Matt Lee - 78.8
LT Brett Bell - 76.6
RG Chidoziri Maghiro - 76.3
LG Josh McMullen - 76.3
C Mike Lofton - 74.6
RT Edward Collins - 74.0
LT Marcus Tatum - 69.4

This is quite remarkable as every grade would be considered "good." Pauole (1) and Tatum (2) were the only OL dinged for allowing hurries on the QB. No OL was dinged for an outright sack (and there was one of the stat sheet), so I'm wondering if PFF either missed that or only assigns blame if it belongs to one OL (and not multiple).

Run Blocking:

RG Lokahi Pauole - 74.1
RG Chidoziri Maghiro - 71.5
C Matt Lee - 69.3
C Mike Lofton - 68.0
LT Marcus Tatum - 60.1
LT Brett Bell - 58.7
LG Adrian Medley - 58.1
RT Samuel Jackson - 57.1
LG Cole Schneider - 55.7
RT Edward Collins - 55.0
LG Josh McMullen - 54.7

As for OL rotation, Matt Lee obviously played the first 25 snaps at center. When he went out with an injury, Cole Schneider slide over and proceeded to play the next 32 snaps. Meanwhile, Adrian Medley entered the game and replaced Cole at LG for those same 32 snaps. From the midpoint of the third quarter onward, it was the same five reserve OL with LT Brett Bell, LG Josh McMullen, C Mike Lofton, RG Chidoziri Maghiro and RT Edward Collins.

Quarterback Grades

Dillon Gabriel - 88.6 passing grade
Mikey Keene - 76.8 passing grade
Quadry Jones - 72.6 passing grade

Passing Pressure Grades for Dillon Gabriel:

Kept Clean - 81.7
Under Pressure - 94.5
Not Blitzed - 91.0
When Blitzed - 61.1

A closer look at passing depth for Dillon Gabriel:

Deep (20+): 0-of-4 for 0 yards (one drop) - 69.5 grade
Medium (10-19): 6-of-12 for 110 yards, 1 TD - 88.4 grade
Short (0-9): 6-of-8 for 70 yards - 84.1 grade
Behind LOS: 11-of-12 for 132 yards, 1 TD - 68.2 grade

Might be the only game DG never connected on a deep ball.

Rushing Grades

Trillion Coles - 71.6
Isaiah Bowser - 70.6
Dillon Gabriel - 69.3
Mark-Antony Richards - 67.4
Johnny Richardson - 67.1
Anthony Williams - 66.9
Joey Gatewood - 63.6

Wide Receiver Grades

Mark-Antony Richards - 86.2
Stephen Martin - 74.6
Ryan O'Keefe - 74.2
Kaedin Robinson - 72.3
Dionte Marks - 69.5
Trillion Coles - 69.4
Brandon Johnson - 65.5
Amari Johnson - 62.0
Jaylon Robinson - 60.7
Titus Mokiao-Atimalala - 58.3
Alec Holler - 42.9
***Isaiah Bowser - 39.4
Zach Marsh-Wojan - 35.0
Jake Hescock - 34.3

Again, somehow this 0.0 pass blocking score is factoring into Bowser's receiver grade and dragging it down. I am going to alert them of this error.

There were six drops, one each for Alec Holler, Zach Marsh-Wojan, Jake Hescock, Isaiah Bowser, Dionte Marks and Brandon Johnson.
