UCF Transfer Portal Updates

I think Frost is doing fine with the portal adds…he’s getting some experienced OL that have starts to their name. He’s not going to get top OL (not really much there anyways). Problem will be that these guys have not played a snap together…OL’s get better the more they play as a unit. But I like the adds.

I also like the WV WR and the Maryland TE and the safety…young guys with multiple years of eligibility left.

I live in PB County. I run into Fellow Knights on occasion. Most don’t follow sports. If we were real good they’d hear and probably watch but not otherwise. They aren’t donating or going to games.
That's strange, I'm from WPB and visit there frequently and always run into fellow Knights downtown or at the gym and they all seem informed and involved in UCF football.

Air Noland commited to South Carolina today who I assume was going for more. With the rates this crazy this cycle it might be better to continue to plug holes at other positions and pray that Frost can turn Rizk into a quality starting QB.
I think Rizk has real potential and can be developed and he certainly had the enthusiasm and heart this last season under rotten conditions.

He transferred and was a walkon. Didn’t play for GOL. I read somewhere else he transferred to USF after us and played. Not sure though.
He was born in 1976 man. He was 27 years old when GOL took over. He never played football for UCF or usf. It says he was at Miami (OH) in 1995 for 2 years (94-96?), then transferred to UCF, then dropped out. He became famous off his music in 2006 at 30 years old. Dude did not see the field with Daunte or anybody else at UCF. He was only briefly a student.

You’ll see me running around PBG with my UCF hat on
That’s where I live. I work at Carrier World HQ in Alton. Quite a few UCF alumni there and none watch games consistently. Most are women but still. People I went to UCF with don’t watch every game. My old roommate lives in NY. We had a noon game and he said he was going to beach. He said it’s not nice enough to go to beach a lot up there so he’s doing that.
I’ve been to bars and only a couple Knights are there. FSU and UF get better turnouts. We are still a growing fanbase. In 2050 we will have bandwagon fans. I actually don’t like bandwagon fans but they buy tickets and merch.

I'm a bandwagon fan. Jumped on at 14 after seeing Daunte and Co. on the Sunshine Network. Been a die hard fan ever since. Even got accepted as a student after I graduated high school in 2000.

Bandwagon fans aren't always bad when reeled in young with no prior allegiances. I've spent many dollars traveling to UCF games and on merch over the years. You want more of fans like me.

It definitely helps. More fans like you
Yes. But a lot of the bandwagon fans are loud and obnoxious. It’s a turn-off and pretty embarrassing in most circumstances.

All is not lost...UCF is definitely making moves and we have some good recruiter coaches :)

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

QB Cam Fancher - FAU

TE Dylan Wade - Maryland
OL Gaard Memmelaar - Washington
OL Preston Cushman - Ole Miss
OL Jakiah Leftwich - North Carolina
OL Justin Royes - Virginia Union
DT RJ Jackson - Tulsa
LB Phil Picciotti - Oklahoma
DB Isaiah Reed - Brown
DB Brandon Jacob - Maryland

Thanks for posting

We have a former coach. Did he coach this kid?
Yep...Clark was his HC the past 2 years....he and Fancher would be coming out of a couple of years starting at the same level. In fact, they were opposing starting QB's in a game in 2023....

Two former Georgia signees who could really help UCF: Cornerback Nyland Green and wide receiver CJ Smith.

Both had injury prone seasons. Both have high ceilings. Both would come cheap.

Smith from Mount Dora HS has the size and speed to be a legit X. Green can play a corner spot.

I would be inclined to pick up Aguilar, tell Fancher thanks but no thanks, and work hard to get Malachi Nelson. That plus Rizk and Brown gives us alot to work with. And see what HS guys are left.

We wouldn’t be able to get both those guys and keep the other 2. Money being one factor, and the other being that most of them would be expecting a legit shot at the starting job. Flancher is brought in because he’s got some “tools”, is cheap, and wouldn’t be expecting a starting job

I don't think money would be the issue, sure we could get Aguilar and Nelson in combined for less than Jefferson. Look, this job is wide open.....if guys don't want to compete, they can go elsewhere. The best thing we can do for the team to have a shot at 6-6 next year is to upgrade this one position as much as possible.

Of course the odds that Frost actually does this is near 0%....so this is just talk and wishes.

After having gone through JRP and the KJ disaster, I don't see why UCF can't focus on Rizk, Brown and Trujillo (if he returns)....you know, guys still on our roster.

With a team that's going to be thin across the board, why not save the cash and put their chips all in on one of the 3? What could be worse than last year? 0-12 I guess but I don't see that happening.

the last visit I saw Malachi make was UTEP, if that is his interest he must have a ton of red flags 🚩

In the end that could be the depth chart going into Spring but it is Frost’s job to give multiple options at the position if possible.

Also nothing is final till classes start in January so it is possible that one QB(Fancher) maybe flips last minute similar to that LB a few years ago if we add another QB.

You never know, and we do have a guy on staff that knows him. If that guy says he is an attitude issue, then we don't.....but I haven't heard anyone say (or hint at) that. All I've heard is that he was just in two situations where he couldn't break through.

He might be a great project for MM to work with.

Maybe this staff realizes what we did.....gus had NO ability to select guys for the position in the 2020s. We need to upgrade this position above all else.

We could always tell Fancher that a better option for us came up.....players do it ALL THE TIME

Big 12 Transfer Portal Winners and Losers After Week 2 of the Winter Window

Loser: UCF
The Knights have a respectable incoming class of transfers, with seven names currently expected to come in an help them immediately. However, that far from offsets what they’ve now lost over the last two weeks of the portal window. At 24 outgoing transfers, UCF is suffering attrition at a high rate and seeing its most talented players land at destination programs.

Among the biggest losses the Knights have seen are Lee Hunter (Texas Tech), Randy Pittman (Florida State), Xe’ree Alexander (Washington), Marcellus Marshall (Minnesota), Chasen Johnson (SMU), Caden Kitler (Arkansas), and Xavier Townsend (Iowa State) all of which landed with other Power Four programs. Losing that level of talent after being non-competitive in your first two seasons in the Big 12 is a tough way to start the Scott Frost era (V 2.0).

Seems right but there is time left and maybe we can add to that class. Changing coaches suddenly and at the end of year didn’t help

Once players realize they 're not gonna start at their school, there will be more transfers available after spring practice. Get as many potential starters now, but don't settle for anyone you don't think can be in your two deep.

One guy who will be in our 2 deep is the new LB transfer from VA Tech...intriguing but puzzlng....after a great year in 2023, he was named to the Bruce Feldman "Freaks" list after the season. Yet last year he didn't start in almost all of their games and had a far less successful season. But when he did play, he played well. Is he not coachable? We'll see. Here's his highlights from 2023...hopefully this is the guy we're getting....

we also picked up that LB from Oklahoma who hasn’t played bc of injury so there is a risk of him being a flop but probably worth the risk. He played at IMG in HS.

With the current QB's we have why wouldn't we want him? Let 'em all compete for the job.
Good point there…just don’t expect too much. He played in G5 and he was not very good but yes…makes sense to get as many bites as possible on the QB apple.

Why would you want him? He’s terrible and not better than Rizk. 2024 stats: 56% completion, 3003 yards, 23 TD and 14 INT.

Definitely regressed this year, but not terrible, and had a very good 2023. If he comes at a decent price due to the coach relationship, he certainly has the best resume on the team. However, he’s a one year rental, and that may not be what we are looking for
