UCF Transfer Portal Updates

Once players realize they 're not gonna start at their school, there will be more transfers available after spring practice. Get as many potential starters now, but don't settle for anyone you don't think can be in your two deep.
Please correct me if I am wrong but that is no longer true. They got rid of the spring transfer portal. There's only one per year and that is now. If you are not happy after spring you are not transferring out....

That is my understanding.

"The spring window in April remains. The portal will only be 10 days, lasting from April 16, 2025, and shutting down on April 25, 2025. The transfer portal will open for 30 days whenever a head coach leaves their program, allowing athletes to leave and decide on their future, according to NCAA guidelines."

Good point there…just don’t expect too much. He played in G5 and he was not very good but yes…makes sense to get as many bites as possible on the QB apple.
He’s a good athlete. I’ve seen quarterbacks who were good athletes go on to the wide receiver position. They tend to know the passing game very well and can adjust accordingly. If the QB thing doesn’t work out, he’s got options.

I foresee Frost being very active in this phase. He remembers the impact Mike Hughes made as a late transfer

Definitely regressed this year, but not terrible, and had a very good 2023. If he comes at a decent price due to the coach relationship, he certainly has the best resume on the team. However, he’s a one year rental, and that may not be what we are looking for
When it comes to football players, college or pro, you need to look at the most recent year…what happened two or three years ago is mostly irrelevant. This has been proven to be a solid guideline over and over.

It does make sense to bring him in as an arm…there will not be much interest in him and NIL wont be much.

A ****ING GOLDEN TRANSFER!!
2017 i knew we were up to something special. Then when we brought hughes in i knew we had a baller.

Without hughes there is potentially no kick six against usf and honestly that play stands to be the difference between us going to peach bowl and eventually b12 or getting sent to the boca raton bowl as an 11-1 team.

I disagree. Players can get hurt. If they are not playing due to injury, it does not mean they are bad players.

This season is going to be a reset season for us. 6-6 and a bowl would be a good season.
Temporary setback but better than last season.

We have needs to play respectable and competitive immediately.
Also, we have long term needs QB, LB and OL for example which are big development positions.

I hope coaching does a good job of establishing a strong culture (with HS recruits and transfers).
New facility development is going to help in this change over with better allure for recruiting.

Bro…just disappear with your Gus Malzone b.s. Old head Malzone failed at Auburn and was fired…failed at UCF and tucked tail to FSU.
The 'u' FEARS Gus.

It is harder to make predictions in the portal era but I’ll see how the roster looks in May
