*****UCF vs. Tulane Official Game Thread*****

We had a lot of talent on this team that never saw the field. He’s like GOL in his loyalty to certain players.
Yeah he doesn’t play the best. He plays the guys he likes. Gus needs to get a bunch of 4 stars or we won’t win in Bug 12.

Win the bowl game and that’s a 10 win season. Not too shabby when you watch us play because you’re more likely to say,”How did this team win 10 games?”.

A few things go our way and we’re at least 11-2 right now. Obvious glaring issues are a QB that stays healthy. Secondary issues. Turnover margin….we were abysmal. -.42/game…ranked #105. Team has fight, though. They have a great attitude whether they can back it up on the field from week-to-week or not.

MK gifted this game to Tulane!
That's BS. Gus told us last time we beat Tulane we had to run the ball. He thought he needed to do that again so he stuck with the same game plan as last time. Unfortunately, JRP wasn't 100% and Gus didn't have a plan B or C. He put in a Freshman who hasns't played all year except for a few snaps and that's on him. We are not deep enough to worry about everyone's redshirt. It makes you a nice guy but it doesn't win games. I still put most of this year on Gus. He has a particular offense he wants to run whether he has the horses or not and it doesn' look like he plans on changing that. Very limiting if you offense doesn't work unless you have that freak QB who is an outstanding runner and passer who can read defenses quickly and make decisions quickly. There are not many of those around.

I think Timmy McClain will do pretty well in '23 if we can improve OLine play. Along with TC I think we have two good QBs that we can build around for the near future.
How they gonna improve the Oline play with potentially all new first-year starters who are replacing multi-year starters who made all-conference?

Lee and Pauole likely return. Adrian Medley who was out injured this year should return to health and play left guard in '23. He played well last year when Cole Schneider was injured. That leaves two spots needed. Use the transfer portal for two spots. It happens all over college football.
