UF offense in terms of yards would rank 1st in AAC, with emphasis on the rushing game. Defense would rank 4th.
Right we are on RBs 4 and 5. Half the defense is already not playing. And our 2nd string true frosh QB can't/ won't throw more than 5yds down field. Plus the guys in blue wont be motivated. Its a lose lose situation. Rather play LSU
For fux sake. They have also will be starting a freshman quarterback but theirs has just one start. They don’t have a head coach, offense line coach or defensive coordinator. We may very well be underdogs but if mizzu and South Carolina beat them and samford hung 50 points on them , I’m sure we’ll be just fine.
Our fans and our previous AD spent years chiding/calling out the Gators about not playing us.
Ugh, yeah, but he’s a 2nd year freshman who is also 6’4” 230 who runs like the wind and has a cannon for an arm. Ours is 5’10” 170 with cement shoes and a noodle arm. Have you not seen us against the terrible teams in our conference with FBS bottom defense struggling to score 20 points?

Florida is a mess. It’s a neutral site. There’s nothing scary about them. I like our chances.
I was there as well. Sucked to lose like that but, so what. We are not nearly in dire straits as many seem to think. We are going to the Big 12, this year doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things. Man in the late 90’s we had a great record with Culpepper and didn’t even get a bowl. Timing couldn’t be worse but we will get a shot at them again with us recruiting as a big 12 member. I am looking forward to that.

I don’t know how bad the timing is, pretty much the entire uf coaching staff is job searching. I suspect Napier will keep a couple but probably 75% of their coaches are going to be given opportunities to work elsewhere
Not to burst your bubble or anything but I think we’d have roughly the same odds of getting embarrassed by western Kentucky as by UF this year. A game against them can only be bad for program perception.
Yeah, but this isn't Vandy, Kansas, or Duke.....if they are motivated, we would need metal detectors to find our team after the game.
We would have to get some real lucky breaks IMHO. This could be BYU slaughter #2.
Why? Because you’re scared? We should play the best competition we can play, so you know where you stand and you can measure your current talent. Being safe all the time never gets you anywhere. People seem to think winning or losing some specific game matters. It doesn’t. Did Maryland and Rutgers do anything on a football field to warrant thier addition to the Big 10. The answer is “No”.
Exactly, it no longer feels like life or death for the program. Before it felt like we always had to look like we belong. Well now we belong. We will recruit better and we will compete with the likes with IF and FSU, so this one game isn’t like what it would have been a couple of years back where a blowout would have killed our image.
Have you seen our QB? I love winning. I want to play to win. I dont like our odds against a wet blanket right now. LSU would be one thing but UF is too close to home and will impact recruiting.
We are playing a bowl game no matter what right? We might as well play the team that we have more to gain with a win with then.
