CBS also has us playing the Gators, but in the Boca Bowl. At least the Boca Bowl is on a Saturday this time, but at 11:00am!

The USF game was before all the problems at UF. This is a much worse team than USF played. If Boswer plays and Mikey has a good game, we would have a good shot to beat them.
Boca Bowl much better for this Palm Beach County resident!
So after watching the beginning of the Big 12 Championship game and thinking about our future I am hoping we play the Gators.
I want to play in a game with a buzz around it, if we lose we lose. We want to be a big boy school we need to be in these types of games and act like we belong there.

The biggest question to me as I watch the Big 12 Championship game is what gets us into the same form that these two teams are in as we have the extra practices. I don't care about the bowl or the teams. Just recruit with your hair on fire. It's a good thing that the bowl game is after signing day.
The thing that really sucks about the Gasparilla Bowl is the field. I was really considering going this year to the bowl game but I hate watching football on a baseball field from the bleachers in center field no matter where you sit.

IIRC The Gasparilla bowl is in Ray Jay now.

I like our game manager quarterback this year potentially vs UF as much, if not better, then I liked our big play or bust quarterback last year vs BYU.
UF also gave up 52 to SAMFORD...and lost 4 of their last 6 games.
If UCF is in the Gasparilla Bowl, whether vs Florida or another potential opponent, S Carolina, I am there because I am a UCF fan.

If UF players and recruits are worried more about potentially losing to somebody than a 6-6 season, there head is already in the wrong place.
No. We didn’t play any defense. BYU should have never been stuck playing us. They learned nothing from that game. We learned we have a long way to go before being very good or elite again.
It isn’t about being scared ..it is a bad product to watch and I’d rather regroup after a full offseason ..if that makes me a bad fan so be it
For me it’s about the incessant nagging their fan base would be like forever and ever if they beat us. Ugh. Their fans are worse than our worst fans.

You guys must not have any UF friends. If you did, you wouldn’t want this matchup either.
When I was in Louisville walking out the stadium after the shocking last minute loss, some asshole asked if we still want Bama. That’s the crap we have to deal with every single loss. You guys live in a bubble if you want to play UF now with one of our worst teams in years after bitching up a storm the last several years about them dodging us. It won’t be fun. Give me them in the regular season in a couple years when we have had time to reload and get the right recruits in here.

I dont see why anyone would be scared. It is a lower tier bowl between two teams who had disapointing seasons. I dont think just because they are in the same state, it makes any sort of statement type game for either side.
I disagree. If we somehow miraculously pull out a win, it makes a huge statement in our favor.
You guys know which side would be UCFs side of the stadium? I’m guessing the SEC team would get the home side, but not sure.

I guess I don’t like the circumstances for this year. That’s all. I’m 2024 we will have a much better team (in theory). And they will be better, too. And fully staffed.
I don’t like the idea of losing to a no-staff 6-6 Gator team. That’s what I was trying to say. Not losing to them in general.
Normally I wouldn't like gaytor game. but with the mess they have at the moment, it could be the perfect time for us to steal one without one of our best teams.

I have plenty of UF friends and we’re all going to go to the game, get wasted and have a good time, as usual. Nobody is getting thier panties in a twist over 6-6 playing an 8-4 team.

Yeah I don’t. I’m going with a group of Gators/Knights for a good time. If you are worried what some doofus says about the outcome of a game you probably should just watch on TV. Any they will probably be ribbing you when we lost to Western Kentucky anyway. In a month with tons of uninteresting bowl matchups, this one actually brings some excitement.

Old habits die hard. They gators have had that name used on them forever. Sorry if I offended.
For Nesta, that meaning of the word is exactly what was implied with the Gators. I do agree the word police on all sides need to get over it. Use slang, or make jokes about old fat white guys. Great I don't sweat it. We all need to grow a bit thicker skin.

I’ve seen the “gayturds” used many times, and strangely my first impression was “happy turds” not “homosexual turds.” I just get tired of people attempting to highjack conversations by controlling narratives and word usage.
Like this post but curious about your avatar/pic of Nate Evans posing over Jo Burrow?!? I liked Nate and it was a great hit but his actions afterwards were classless and embarrassing IMO. The resulting unsportsmanlike penalty kept LSUs drive alive and it was a huge turning point in the game. It seemed to galvanize their whole team and Burrow started playing like a man on a personal mission for payback.
I never watched that play/penalty again on video but I’ve heard other people say you could actually see Evans
spit on Burrow as he towered over him. I’m not saying he did or didn’t but I know that’s an image I hope to never see from another Knight again.
