I can't believe I'm going to do this (i.e., post in a thread such as this), but lest we not forget "death panels" that were perpetrated by Sarah Palin. I'm not saying that liberals don't do it - both sides are supremely guilty of fearmongering.

Sure. Of course there are rationing panels for healthcare in the UK that have acted as death panels. It was never out of the realm of the likely that any single payer system would have to do this.

I'm sorry, but "not saying that liberals don't do it" isn't even close to doing it justice. The entire Democratic message recently has been extreme fearmongering. From damn near everything about Kavanaugh and Trump to Hillary's latest jem about Republicans destroying everything. It's not even close to a 50/50 split.

If we're taking a myopic viewpoint, then I agree with you. R's control everything, so the D's resort to fearmongering. Taking a step back though and looking at things from a broader lens and with a larger sample, it has pervaded opposing sides of whatever political platform you want to examine. In that case it's most assuredly 50/50 or damn near close.

R's rule at fearmongering. Did anyone else watch Trump's speech last night? It was literally a 20 minute whiny little bitch fest about how mean the Democrats are, after starting off saying how we need to come together as a nation.
