That should finally shut that one guy up on X. Maybe.Miami of Ohio just beat Cinci in OT after a potential short gw fg in regulation was blocked
Yeah, but the guy with the ball didn't go forward...it's not legendary level like the Stanback truck of the Rutgers defender.
I know Arizona State turned the ball over on their first 3 drives and were playing like their 4th string guy (According to the announcer) when I went to bed. Not ripping Fresno. I actually thought they had some fast players and played solid ball.mikey keene is tearing our future conference mate arizona state a new a-hole.
Mikey got sacked a lot. Those aren’t really rushing yards.I know Arizona State turned the ball over on their first 3 drives and were playing like their 4th string guy (According to the announcer) when I went to bed. Mikey was his typical self going 32/49 for 281 yds with 2 TDs and 0 Ints (5.7 yds per throw). He game managed and didn't do anything stupid. He looked very capable and comfortable. He rushed 7 times for -65 yards (that's minus 65 yards). That's 2 games in a row where he produced negative yardage running.
Az State ended up playing 3 different QB who went a combined 17/37 for 188 yds with 0 TDs and 5 Ints (Yes, you read that correct... 5 Ints). They equaled that futility by rushing for a whopping 42 total yards for the night.
I wish we could get a game where our opponent implodes like that.
We all know what his trajectory was here. He didn't seem to be a good assessor of talent or recruiter, other than the QB position. I told their fans to see about the "eye test" in year 3, when he's working with mostly his players at that point. I thought they'd overcome stuff like this by just buying players, and they spent big money on a solid defensive coordinator.Year 3 Huepel?
I know. The point is it's a negative stat for him (in general). You're supposed to gain positive yardage on plays. In tight games that is probably going to bite you in the @ss here and there because he can't make any plays with his legs.Mikey got sacked a lot. Those aren’t really rushing yards.
Ok State got blown out at home. Cincy lost at home. It's college football and everybody knows you're never really sure what teams are going to look like on the road but at home, losing gimme games??? At least KSt lost on the road. I watched some of the Iowa vs Iowa State game last week and Iowa St looked average at best.Holy Oklahoma State…
The Big XII Bad:
- OK St gets blown out by South Alabama? 🤔
- KSU loses to Mizz
- Ohio (not Ohio State) beats Iowa St…poor cyclone Larry.
- Miami OH beats Cincy @ Cincy (So much for Nippert at Night)
- WVU beats Pitt (Pitt not so good after all, sorry Cincy, neither are you)
- Tx struggled with Wyoming. Either Wyoming is that good (beat Tx Tech) or Tx is really overrated (👋🏻 Alabama). Maybe both 🤷🏻♂️
- Baylor struggles to beat Long Island…wtf is Long Island?
The Big XII Good:
- Nothing really to list. Everyone else who won was a cream puff, including TCU beating Houston (Houston is a cream puff).
- WVU maybe, but me thinks Pitt is actually awful. I watched a bit, both teams looked bad, WVU defense was either good or Pitt offense was really bad.
It was a good conference last yearThe Big 12 is a bad football conference. The only two good programs are the ones leaving.
The question is what is the norm. The Big 12 doesn’t appear to have particularly strong football brands, so this year could be more reflective of the strength of the conference. Meanwhile a conference like the ACC with programs like FSU, Miami, Virginia Tech, and Georgia Tech seems to be trending upwards (with at least some of those programs). It was a good conference last year
looks to be down this year but who cares . These things go in cycles

Solid win on the road. I watched a little bit. They looked pretty good. We’ll see how Arkansas ends up for the year…at the end of the year.BYU hangs on at Arkansas
The Big 12 has zero football national brands but for the two teams that are leaving. It’s a basketball conference. You don't know that. This football season will be like any other. Every team is loaded with transfers and upperclassmen due to the old portal rules and COVID extra year. Anybody can beat anybody. The PAC-12 has 9 undefeated teams. No one with any sense thinks the PAC-12 is the best conference in the nation. Every league will cannibalize itself.
This is the first time in CFP (College Football Pageant) history that all four teams could have at least one loss and one will have two.losses.
National branding doesn’t mean dick…Miami is a national brand and has sucked for 2 decades. Same with Nebraska, who cares. The Big 12 has zero football national brands but for the two teams that are leaving. It’s a basketball conference.
I watched this game on DVR to see how Keene looked at his new home. My takeaway is that he is not great but he does a very good job overall.mikey keene is tearing our future conference mate arizona state a new a-hole.
