Vacated her senate seat yet? Its pretty obvious that she is going to be VP at this point, so why wait?

Can’t she be president of the senate at the same seat? She probably just got it broken in the way she likes, what with her red scaly skin and bifurcated tail. She even has a little holder there for her pitchfork.

It doesn't matter. The Governor elects the next appointment till the next election. She is a lame Duck as well. Since Trump has not conceded.

It's a seat appointed by the governor, he can start the process whenever he wants and just appoint the person when Harris is officially the VP.
Crazy was just trying to make a halfassed comparison between Harris and Trump. Unfortunately, Cubs79 pulled the rug out from under his argument. :)

Not really. It just seems like if they are 100% confident in their win, Kamala would have stepped aside by now.

Based on what? Biden stepped down on Jan 3rd 2009, Gore stepped down Jan 2 1993. Obama stepped down about this time in 2008, but he was president elect not VP elect. There is no reason for her to step down right now. The 2021 Senate session is scheduled to start 1/3/21, so no reason for her to step down before that date.

Well she's probably pretty busy with transition stuff and that leaves little time to be a senator. Maybe it doesn't matter, but you would think California would want a full time senator in place ASAP.

If she stepped down now, then basically the Democrats have one less vote if something is voted on, such as a stimulus package. No reason for her to step down until the new congress starts on 1/03/21.

Busy with transition stuff? Trump isnt allowing the transition yet, so even more reason for her not to step down.

Fair enough. Who do you think they will appoint to replace her? Seems like a person like Mike Eng would be a satisfactory placeholder for the rest of her term.

Americans want a full time president in place too. Between the fall campaigning and all the sulking and golf playing after the election, how long has it been since we've had that? :)
