Will John Walker Make an Early Impact for UCF Knights?

“Pretty close in the race”??????

WTF? I don’t get these kids. It’s really simple: Don’t commit so early if you don’t want to look like an a-hole.

Do all the bullsh*t posting you want without the early commitment. The tweet above would be looked at totally different from both fan bases if he wasn’t committed.

Why can’t these kids figure this out?
You guys are ridiculous. Let the players do what they want. He wants to do this his way, he's allowed too. Maybe we need to stop basing our life's happiness around High school athletes decisions.

I base my happiness on how our team performs

Ridiculous? Who’s “we”? 😂

I really hate that we lose another high profile DL commit to UF. It actually drives me crazy. So much UF chatter, almost like a done deal. Really hope I’m wrong, but we’ve seen this story time and time again. Give us a couple years in the Big12, maybe a couple years of success and this narrative will change. We need to push the brand of the cool new school. Man I really hate UF.

Recruits will do what they will do. If we get him it is a great get, if not we move on. He likely makes more $$ at UF than UCF, and I doubt we can change that. He also will get more Publicity good or bad there.

I wholeheartedly disagree with NIL and the transfer portal without strict limits. These kids are getting a FREE college education, in many cases worth $100k+.

NIL should have contract obligations that stipulate once an NIL is agreed upon and signed to play for a specific school, the player has to stay/play for that program until graduation. Otherwise the “endless amounts of $ schools” will always win the recruiting battles. When that player realizes they won’t touch the field for 3 years, it becomes, “now who will pay me to transfer to their school?” This will destroy college football

I wonder what the contract terms of these NIL deals look like. Do they have to give some of the money back if they transfer? Or is it all guaranteed?

You are talking about wealthy successful individuals negotiating with high school kids, took forever for NFL players to get guaranteed contracts.

You guys realize the NIL money cannot come from school right? It can’t even be brokered by school. Its companies or a group who sponsor the kid to promote their product or give a service like signing autographs. The company can’t end a contract because of a transfer. But they can sign 1 year contracts that could be renewed or not.

Some states allow programs to work with boosters on NIL. Some don't. Could you imagine a booster buying a player the head coach DOESN'T EVEN WANT?

Another possible flip:

LB Andrew, Michael Harris (UCF commits)

A two-for-one special, Florida twins Michael and Andrew Harris could very well end up in Michigan State’s recruiting class. The pair of 4-star linebackers elected to choose the hometown UCF for proximity and early playing time opportunity.

The Spartans, who finished runners up in the recruitment, are still in contact with the Harris twins and there is a possibility that the two sides come together before the early signing period.

Why? Schools only have a 1 year agreement on scholarships. Schools make offers then accept more than they can fill and cherry pick what they keep. It is a business. Loyalty to a school or a school's loyalty to a player are long past history. It is all about the $$.

Name some instances where a UCF player contract wasn’t renewed and he didn’t get into trouble. I can’t name any. They typically renew it if kid doesn’t want to transfer.

🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️

Shit is falling apart if we wiff in recruiting and we lose to Duke we need a new face of this program.

Just click bait until it isn't......this happens every time. Michigan St? What a miserable place to play and live.

So the gators just picked up like their 8th DL commit with this guy from the portal.
We still feeling stressed about Walker flipping?

I hope he considers that a program like Florida will constantly be trying to recruit over him. Since we don’t have their resources, we will be trying to recruit around him.

Half those players are in the transfer portal within 2 years.

Without having to sit a year out from transferring, HS players are shooting higher than they usually do.

So Gator fans are currently freaking out on Twitter about Walker. What do they know that I don't? Has it been announced somewhere that he's staying with us?

Walker was on Twitter Space or whatever that is last night with Stephen Leonard and Co. Reaffirming his commitment and talking about all the UF fan hate he’s getting, specifically addressing the whole “Momma is making me stay at UCF” stuff. Seems like he is still solidly committed to us but who ever knows, maybe it’s a way to get more NIL money.

Wasn't that from months ago though? I didn't think that conversation took place last night.
