Gus's FSU presser

Listening to Marc Daniels just now they switched over to Gus's FSU intro presser.

Zero mention of UCF. Even when he mentioned past great players.

Jayvan Boggs Recruiting: "We go way back. He's a playmaker. The last place I coached we wanted him. Special player."

First question was a lead in but he did not mention anything about UCF. Lame presser. At least wish us luck or something.

Whatever. I guess he is going to ghost his UCF past.

“I can’t wait to help develop the next generation of Knights and build on the incredible tradition of success we’ve established here at UCF. Charge On!”

In-Depth Analysis of the Legal Landscape of College Athletics

Hey all,

I wrote a paper this year on the shifting legal landscape of college athletics and what it means for the future. Understandably, many people have questions about what is going on and the direction we are seeing collegiate athletics take. Hopefully, this paper will be illuminating to some of you.

Antitrust and Collegiate Athletics

Go Ponies!

Never was really a SMU fan but am pulling for them to upset everyone and win the NC. Odds are against them but HELLALUAH BAMA DID NOT GET IN.

Also, pulling for conference mate Arizona State. Picked last in conference in preseason media poll.

Being a long time UCF fan I've always loved a great underdog story. A-State and SMU are it for this year.

Scott Frost "only 1 winning season"

I've noticed all over twitter and the forum that Frost "only has 1 winning season"...

While factually true, let's look at this in a more realistic way:
If Frost stays at UCF, he has winning seasons for at least 4 years. He's not doing worse than Hype if he stays during that time.

I'm not focused on the "1 winning" season scenario.
I'm focused on how he comes in and rebuilds this program.

I'm optimistic that:
  • Recruiting improves. His ability to recruit was phenomenal. Some of the best talent was acquired while he was here.
  • Offensive production improves.
  • Fan support improves significantly.
  • Frost is extremely motivated and will work extremely hard to get us back to winning UCFast.
I'm a bit pessimistic about:
  • Our current roster and what he has to work with.
  • If Frost isn't motivated; then this can blow up quickly.
  • The coordinators he brings in. Hopefully this quickly gets moved into the optimistic list.
