Brunswick (Ga.) offensive tackle
Jamal Meriweather, who committed to UCF on Easter, returned to campus for Bounce House Weekend as one of the 11 official visitors.
"It was exciting being around the players," Meriweather said. "They treated me like I was a teammate, like I was already part of the team. I really can't wait to be here."
His host was
Tylan Grable and he also spent a lot of time with
Ricky Barber and
Dallaz Corbitt.
"We were chillin, playing Madden," Meriweather said. "I was beating everybody in Madden."
What was the most fun?
"The best thing was the competitions," Meriweather said. "I was with Coach
(Herb) Hand and were going against a bunch of teams. It was real fun. I wanted to do the watermelon challenge, but
Eddy (Pierre-Louis) was eating faster than me so I let him do that. Coach Hand handled the karaoke, doing Eminem. We won that. After that we had a dodgeball tournament. I was going crazy. That was so much fun."
Meriweather said spending time with the coaches was definitely the highlight for him.
"The entire staff brings the positive energy," Meriweather said. "Coach Hand is a family man. He's real positive. He never tries to bring anybody down."
His other offers included Utah, Iowa State, Mississippi State, Virginia Tech, USC, Houston, Cincinnati, Missouri, South Carolina, Kentucky, Minnesota, Tennessee and West Virginia.
Meriweather said he's totally solid with his commitment.
"I'm not going anywhere," he said. "I'm happy here. I'm comfortable."
