Way to early weather forecast for the bowl

I follow this website called Weather Madness for winter weather. The meteorologist is a guy named Henry Margosuity (sp) . He is a winter weather guru of sorts . Weather Madness has free content ,but I pay for the premium stuff which includes videos . In today's long range video Henry was saying that blocking Greenland High (NAO) and Arctic Oscillation and this other atmospheric phenomena called the PNA are all lining up for the last two weeks of December and into early January to bring cold to the east with snow.

While he specifically didn't state Baltimore DC would have snow on December 27-28 , he did say the weather pattern is looking to change and bring a deep trough into the eastern US in that time frame. The NAO is going negative and staying that way which means a strong blocking high thus forcing the arctic lows further south. At a minimum this could be a cold game for all. Stay tuned . Henry gets it right more than wrong in my observations.

If you are winter weather follower I recommend adding Weather Madness to your favorites list .

Restaurant recs for bowl game

The last few times at the Navy game we stayed in Alexandria so always eat dinner there after the games. This time we’re staying near BWI and looking for restaurant recommendations for after the game from anyone that lives in the area. We can go anywhere between Annapolis and Baltimore and looking for either seafood or Italian food.

Thought about dinner In Annapolis but it’s usually busy after the game unless there’s someplace we have to go.

Appreciate any recommendations.

Yulman Stadium in New Orleans was rocking for the 2022 American Athletic Conference Championship Game between Tulane and UCF. The Knights surged back to make it a 31-28 game in the fourth quarter, but the Green Wave would pull away with a pair of late touchdowns. Afterward, the exuberant Tulane student body and fans stormed the field.

***UCF OL commit: Jamal Meriweather: 'I can't wait to be here' / Updated: Flips to UGA 🏈

Brunswick (Ga.) offensive tackle Jamal Meriweather, who committed to UCF on Easter, returned to campus for Bounce House Weekend as one of the 11 official visitors.

"It was exciting being around the players," Meriweather said. "They treated me like I was a teammate, like I was already part of the team. I really can't wait to be here."

His host was Tylan Grable and he also spent a lot of time with Ricky Barber and Dallaz Corbitt.

"We were chillin, playing Madden," Meriweather said. "I was beating everybody in Madden."

What was the most fun?

"The best thing was the competitions," Meriweather said. "I was with Coach (Herb) Hand and were going against a bunch of teams. It was real fun. I wanted to do the watermelon challenge, but Eddy (Pierre-Louis) was eating faster than me so I let him do that. Coach Hand handled the karaoke, doing Eminem. We won that. After that we had a dodgeball tournament. I was going crazy. That was so much fun."

Meriweather said spending time with the coaches was definitely the highlight for him.

"The entire staff brings the positive energy," Meriweather said. "Coach Hand is a family man. He's real positive. He never tries to bring anybody down."

His other offers included Utah, Iowa State, Mississippi State, Virginia Tech, USC, Houston, Cincinnati, Missouri, South Carolina, Kentucky, Minnesota, Tennessee and West Virginia.

Meriweather said he's totally solid with his commitment.

"I'm not going anywhere," he said. "I'm happy here. I'm comfortable."

Not a good look for coaches

I don’t know if he’s talking about Offensive scheme or Defensive scheme, but between current players like Amari bashing the “scheme” and ex players bashing the “scheme” it’s not a good look for the coaches. Not a good look for Amari either tbh, but it appears the locker room wasn’t as close as it was made out to be. Reminds me of the end of Heupel where ex players and players on the roster were openly bashing the scheme after the fau shambolic performance. Gus needs to make changes to the staff.

Who are realistic replacement options if Gus retires?

I've brought this up in a couple threads but now that we've seen Cincy and usf make less than desirable HC hires I think it's worthy of it's own thread.

Given Kristi's health scare I just wonder how much longer he wants to do it and I'm a little concerned about the market given what we've seen if he decided to hang it up sooner than we all thought.

Speculation? Yes. But we also haven't heard a peep about an extension or assistant pool raise so I think these are valid concerns.

Gus should go qb shopping

With the amount of talent in the portal right now it would be stupid not to even with JRP and potentially Singleton. Plus some are really experienced which the UCF qb room lacks now:

Spencer Sanders- probably off to Bama tbh

Hudson Card

Brennan Armstrong- Look at him before Tony Elliot broke him

Jeff Sims

DJ U- god no, but Gus loves this type of qb

Devin Leary- not a Gus qb, but god is he good.

Kedon Slovis

Plus several high profile qb recruits that didn’t play last year that have a lot of potential. It would be big time dumb not to at least tempt them to come on a visit.

Florida OL transfer to visit UCF this weekend

Joshua Braun announced in October he intends to be in the transfer portal.

Florida football offensive lineman Joshua Braun is leaving the Gators and will enter the transfer portal at the end of the semester, a source confirmed Tuesday.

The 6-foot-6, 351-pound Braun started in 7 of 13 games for the Gators at left and right guard in 2021. But it was clear he was not in first-year coach Billy Napier's plans for 2022. Braun appeared in just two of seven games for Florida this season and did not play despite an injury to starting right guard O'Cyrus Torrence.

Braun lined up at right tackle during fall camp but couldn't find a spot on the depth chart and consistent playing time in UF's offensive line rotation.

A former Live Oak Suwannee standout, Braun was a top 300 national recruit in 2019 who initially committed to Georgia before flipping to the Gators. He also had offers from Auburn, Florida State, Miami, Michigan and South Carolina.
